John Rutter, born in London and educated at Clare College of Cambridge University, is known as the founder of the Cambridge Singers, as a choral conductor, and as a masterful arranger of songs, anthems and carols. His own compositions, written in a traditional style, are almost exclusively choral, but also include large orchestral works, opera, pop and light music, and music for BBC television. "For the Beauty of the Earth," published in 1980, was written for Rosemary Heffley and the Texas Choral Directors' Association. The text is by F. S. Pierpoint (1835-1917). - Видеоклипы
For my mum who passed away 3 Weeks ago ..she was my life
❤
May the Lord have you consolation
She lives on through you sweet sister. God bless you ❤❤❤❤
I’m looking through all of my choirs songs from last year and I remember, when our teacher showed us this song, I was instantly in love. This might sound cringy as I was 12 at the time but I made me want to cry because of how beautiful it was. Today in the shower I was singing songs and remembered how much I loved this song, so I instantly got on youtube and it makes me miss singing this song so much
I hope every one of you take the beauty and power of this hymn with you for the rest of your life....❤❤
I'm performing this tonight, super excited since it's been ik our program the whole year and we still haven't done it! Wish me luck 🤞
The tone, the strength, amazing voices, all of you, thank you so much!!
For the beauty of the earth
For the beauty of the skies
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies
Over and around us lies
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our joyful hymn of praise
For the beauty of the hour
Of the day and of the night
Hill and vale and tree and flower
Sun and moon and stars of light
Sun and moon and stars of light
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our joyful hymn of praise
For the joy of human love
Brother, sister, parent, child
Friends on earth and friends above
For all gentle thoughts and mild
For all gentle thoughts and mild
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our joyful hymn of praise
For each perfect gift of thine
To our race so freely given
Graces human and divine
Flow'rs of earth and buds of heav'n
Flow'rs of earth and buds of heav'n
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our joyful hymn, our joyful hymn of praise
This our joyful hymn of praise
One of my favourites. Sang this in my local choir for 2 years and it’s very fitting I came across it today for personal reasons. A treasured song full of joy ✨⭐️✨
beautiful hymn and words. I think the second verse, 1st line is, for the beauty of each hour?
Thank you for taking the time to add the lyrics of this divinely inspired hymn. Blessings and love you!

this is the last song I ever sang with my middle school choir. we sang it as our last of 3 songs for UIL. thanks to corona, we don’t get to have a spring concert, and a proper goodbye, but I’m glad our last song together was this one. it’s so beautiful and now it will ALWAYS have a very special place in my heart.

Hope you All are singing together again. Beautifully.❤

I remember singing this song when I was in 6th grade almost 15+ years ago. I remember how much I loved this song. I’m so happy I found it again, it’s a beautiful hymn of praise to our Heavenly Father. Our king of Kings and Lord of Lords, may the Glory be His forever and ever. It brought so many tears to my eyes.

This was absolutely lovely. You did such a wonderful job with Rutter's version of For the Beauty of the Earth. Well done.
this is bringing so many memories I jiust graduated from highschool :(
I just saw a comment from you before -- we sang this at regionals back in middle school it's insane to think I'm about to graduate from university and it came up :/
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (August 17), I filled in at a local Presbyterian Church. I played this as the Hymn of Praise. However, it was to the tune, DIX, composed by Conrad Kocher, 1786-1872.
Exceptional school choir. That was beautiful.
I had not heard this wondrous hymn until recently by way of the World Famous Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square.
I fell in love with its melody & hopeful lyrics & began searching for other renditions. IMHO, The Vocal Arts sound the very best of all the Utube videos I have listened to. . .And for a relatively small choir made up of youth they bring a unique sound & heartfelt feeling beyond compare.
Bravo!! Sounds like a group 3x your size!! Great diction for young singers!
I think so too!

Big Respect to all choir members and especially Mr. Piano Player and Mrs. Conductor..
You're very good and Rutter is really brilliant. My choir sang Candlelight Carol during one of our last performances using a new arrangement. Write this in the search: you will surely like it.
Corale Novarmonia - Candlelight Carol (J. Rutter)

John Rutter's rendition of the song "For the Beauty of the Earth" deserves to be called a modern day masterpiece!
It's like angels singing, beautiful!!!!!
Im singing this for my choir concert
While listening this more than awesome and awe inspiring hymn I pictured myself ascending up to heaven in the arms of my lord and Savior Jesus the Christ .
Original last two verses:
For Thy Bride that evermore
Lifteth holy hands above,
Offering up on every shore
This Pure Sacrifice of Love:
Christ, our God, to Thee we raise
This our Sacrifice of Praise.
For Thy Martyrs' crown of light,
For Thy Prophets' eagle eye,
For Thy bold Confessors' might,
For the lips of Infancy:
Christ, our God, to Thee we raise
This our Sacrifice of Praise.
For Thy Virgins' robes of snow,
For Thy Maiden Mother mild,
For Thyself, with hearts aglow,
Jesu, Victim undefiled,
Offer we at Thine own Shrine
Thyself, sweet Sacrament Divine.
