@@Jodacro-it4zzI personally disagree. The Knight was the only one of the 8 classes to defeat Vitiate in 1-on-1 combat. He's one of the only 2 people to ever break out of Vitiates control and constantly foiled his plans time and again. I feel that the Knight would draw Valkorians attention more than the others.

Never have I been so emotionally attached to such an absolutely ridiculous game. I have loved every part of my story; and Letalis', from the training on Tython, to the knighting on Coruscant and the final Destruction of the sith emperor. I love SWTOR.

@@jakobrenner2230 I like that they did something different, and that the story and characters have more depth and complexity. However, the story doesn't make much sense, that the Sith emperor was behind it all and abandoned the Sith to go have kids and form a new empire. They should have made the whole Zakuul story not connected to the emperor at all. They should just be their own thing, then rise as a threat when they decide to attack the Sith and Jedi. They should have nothing to do with the emperor. Also, how they made one story for all classes doesnt make sense either. It's clear that the story only works if you are a force user.
I think the reason that the conditioning worked on Valkorion is when he consumed Vaylin's essence he took everything from her mind including the conditioning code

@@emperorholocron8278 Well the conditioning was also a construct of Sith Magic/Sorcery. Maybe it reset when it moved from one Consciousness that had conquered it to another that hadn't, like a virus. However my theory is that Valkorian and the Outlander's minds throughout the story have been slowly melding into one. And Valkorian's consciousness was ultimately subject to the Outlander's due it being the Host. So the Outlander's Consciousness just used its authoritative power over Valkorian's to Vanquish him. As Plainly put "My Head, My Rules".
The Dark Empire Sourcebook explains that Essence Transfer is extraordinarily difficult on a conscious being, and the safest bet is a prepared clone body (like what Palpatine used). This is why earlier in the game, the Emperor's Hands note to the Wrath once Vitiate's voice on Voss is destroyed that "Preparations are being made to secure a new host, but the rituals take time"; indeed, The Old Republic Encyclopedia clarifies that Vitiate's Voice (his main vessel) is hollowed out of any consciousness, because otherwise possessing them would be nearly impossible and potentially lethal. This is also why Valkorion couldn't take over the Outlander instantly like he admits, and had to hollow out his mind over time despite being conventionally much more powerful. Yet even then, the Outlander was able to bounce back. The Dark Side Sourcebook adds that a victim of Essence Transfer whose spirit isn't fully extinguished is able to forcefully exert control over their own body and banish the foreign spirit. In short, the Outlander invoked the rules of The Dark Side Sourcebook to defeat Valkorion.

This was partly why revan and malak took the star forge, that and ya know being corrupted by the dark side.
In my eyes considering he was the stronger of the two he broke free of the influence of Vitiate, but was still very corrupted by the Dark Side.
How, exactly? Not asking out of disbelief. I want to hear thoughts.
@@sambridgers9543 Basically Revan and Malak were already exposed to the darkside before they met Vitiate and despite falling they continued fighting for the Jedi and Republic during the war with the Mandalorians. This fall to the darkside was a combination of the brutal nature of the war itself combined with forbidden teachings they acquired from forgotten knowledge located at the ruins of the Trayas Academy and Korriban. When they confronted Tenebrae in his throne room he dominated their minds, read their memories, and sent them to be his vanguard for sith invasion. However when they came back to the galaxy and continued their hunt for the Starforge (something that Vitiate became aware of from their memories) their connection to him was weakened and they misunderstood his orders as their own free will. Because they never reported back to Tenebrae he eventually came to belive that they had failed and halted his plan of invasion until the Great Galactic War we see happen in the Swtor Trailers 300 years later on. It was only after Lehon when Revan and Malak fully broke his control and Darth Revan opted to use the Starforge against Vitiate. He sought to conquer the galaxy before Vitiate and use the power of the Starforge to destroy him and his empire. He named himself Dark Lord of the Sith and planned on installing himself as the Emporer following Tenebraes destruction until he was betrayed and mind wiped.
Basically when they went to kill Vitiate they were already Fallen Jedi with knowledge of Sith Teachings and Vitiate mind controlled them like puppets and officiated them as Darths until they eventually broke control when they moved further away from his range because both individuals were incredibly strong willed and powerful in the force.
I was hoping thexan would appear as well in the whole family confrontation between them and valkorian

Vaylin is dead her father caged her spirit so he could use her so when he finally died once and for all her spirit was free and she passed on.

Happy to see I am not the only one a little POed that the game makers seemed to forget several key characters. I mean besides T-7 no one else from your ship came back(Knight ship not talking about anyone else) You would think at the very least in this new expansion one of them would have gone "Huh the new Commander of the Alliance against Zakuul looks/sounds a lot like the guy I used to follow. Maybe I should check him out."

I'm kinda upset that they made the option to take the throne or not a light/dark choice. Wouldn't it be it have been cooler to have the choice be neutral and then have the emperor and peacekeeper speeches change depending on if you played light or dark? Like have a dark peacekeeper or a gentle emperor?

I finally completed Knights of the Eternal Throne with my light side Sith Inquisitor at like 3 a.m. this morning! Even on Story difficulty, Vaylin and Valkorion were REALLY HARD! Although, when I got Valkorion down to about 60% HPish, he glitched inside the throne pedastel. At that point I think the game must have thought he fell off the edge or something, so the game killed him & I won! It was cool that the game finished himfor me, but I'm also kind of sad because I was thoroughly enjoying laying into him with all my lightning powers, the holocron, and w/ the assistance of Arcaan & Vaylin!

Dang even though she did a lot of bad things i feel bad for Vaylin. she could have been saved. At least she helped Leth and Arcann Strike down The Emperor

IT was Lord scourge's vision of the hero of tython defeating the emperor that led to this moment. also kira carsen being a child of the emperor would of thought there would of been one more moment with her
it's peace for now until years later Palpatine rises to become emperor of the sith thus begining the saga we all know!

Its a shame it turned out as I thought wich is dissapointing I always wanted to believe Valkorion saw a bigger picture then a punny throne but in the end Bioware throw that all out and just made him a narcessistic psichopath that thinks he is GOD ironic he called the sith failed experiment he was the biggest of them all

I thik Revan was first that Valkorion noticed as possible new body. But Revan betrayed him by creating his own little sith empire and rest you know from KOTOR games :D

This masafaka Vitiate survive.He had dozens of bodies on Nathema(planet without the Force),so if he reborn,no one can sense him.He died like mazafaka Sidious and in Legends Sidious death in Force explosion was like transferring spirit to another body.Threre is no death,there is only the Force.

Rcad99 I think the Hand said that his original body was intact, so probably Tenebrae just fled from the Outlander's mind and abandoned his identity as Valkorion only to return to his original body once more.

I know this comment is 4 years old.... but can you imagine the other classes? Sith Warrior would have Darth Baras nagging and chiding at him.... and cannot imagine Inquisitor, all the ghost and some ghostly bystanders on the sidelines an cheering. And you have the Huntsmaster groooarring at you if Bounty Hunter
Am I the only one realizing that it would take months to fight your way from a relatively low level in the tower about 80 kilometers upwards seeing as they would disable every elevator. . . Oh, yeah, and you would need an army big enough to capture three star systems to capture such a tower from the inside. Or plot armor and teleportation, that also works -.-
(Don't get me wrong, I love this game, just think that that kotet wasn't made well.)

I accidentally started P9 before P8 and at the start when I saw all his companions dead in the throne room I flipped thinking WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING! Oh lol
Also, if the Outlander would never have attacked the Throne (or at least let Arcan back onto it at the end) The Galaxy would not have cascaded back into war again. We are a power-hungry antagonist however we see it.
I think that, as long as his original body is intact, he cannot die. Only a theory, I could be wrong.

ShadowSage6 Not only would everyone be dead on the Dark Side route (save Theron and Lana), but the Outlander promises a militaristic approach to "peace" and to annihilate any and all opposition.

The Light Side route allows everyone to survive and a genuine peacekeeping effort. Not to mention helping to rebuild.
Other than that, everything else is the same (including uprisings). I did say "not quite" the same.

I must say; for all of the mmo's draw backs over its time being online; Bioware sure knows how to write a story. Tenebrea, Vitiate, the Emperor, Valkorian; was one hell of an antagonist for the game's story line. I'm curious what sort of character Bioware will conceive of next to replace him. He sets a really high bar to top.
They had us kill him for good as his original body still needed to be destroyed in Echoes of Oblivion. Revan, Meetra, Scourge and Kira help.

So Valkorian went to the Netherelm of the Force and Joined all the other Dead Sith and Jedi along with Darth Palpatine Darth Maul Count Dooku and General Grievous.

The problem with this story is that his family keeps treating Valkorian like's still Valkorian, but he's not! Valkorian never actually betrayed his family. He was hollowed out by Vitiate. That's NOT their father and Husband anymore. They're dealing with an ancient old Sith Lord super psychopath. Senya described Valkorian as a kind man, but at some point after the birth of the children, Vitiate must've taken control of Valkorian. The family didnt understand the changes in his behavior. Now that they do, they needed to stop treating him like family. I think the writers kinda missed that... The story about Vitiate was interesting but dragged out wayy too long and look what we lost along the way... A brilliant character... Revan. The way he went out was horrible.
chucksl21 you are a bit lost in the story :D Vitiate took over Valkorion's body hundreds of years before the game, so their husband/father was always Vitiate
but she said once that she knew him to be kind and gentle... Maybe I did miss something, because I thought that dude created the eternal empire. Then again, he said he found Valkorian... so did he create the eternal empire or find it? Still... the ex Super Sith Lord shedding all Sith philosophy to be a different emporer just dragged on way too much. What about his plan to reach other galaxies and be some super Force ascendant? lol They should've let Revan end that dude.
chucksl21 well maybe he was gentle! He said to the outlander in the second chapter that he found love on Zakuul. It's just that when his children were born, he completely focused on making them his weapons and stopped being gentle haha. I personally love the story of a sith who has thrown away his boundaries in form of sith code and has become something much bigger, but it's just my opinion.

Loving you play throughs xLetalis. A lot of the choices you made were ones I would have made too, so I get a really good idea of how it'll work out. Interesting ending though. So does that make Satele Shan our enemy in future dlc? Assuming she's rebuilding the Jedi Order and sides with the Republic?

A truly epic ending. After KOTFE being a bit of a let down with story choices, KOTET was much better (especially with fates of many characters). Was always wondering how will they pull off the end of the Emperor and I'm really glad to say I'm not disappointed - the final showdown is definitely a worthy ending to the story which started in KOTOR in 2003. Only regret is that Bioware messed up Revan in SoR and he could no longer be a part of this story at the end.
Now my fingers are crossed for KOTOR3 / KOTORreboot, which would be a part of the new canon (as SWTOR now kind of finished the story of "old" KOTOR which is no longer canon).
how great is playing against vitiate-valkorion the most powerful sith and being in this universe...Anddd he comes backk again and again..

Games like this one, makes me wish Bioware made another KotOR game; but this time, with Mass Effect mechanics (dialogue wheel/choices etc). And within the current canon of course :)
You make that fight with Vaylin's spirit look so easy. Trying to do that fight now
on my Sorc / Caster and its a pain in the butt. My fight though might be glitched
I know that others were saying the Arcann fight was hope this next patch fixes it.
Yeah i can imagine that ranged classes have trouble with her since she cna be hurt only from melee range :D
Darth Portus Did the fight again today and I think the latest patch fixed a few issues.
Thomas Denniston here's a tip. make sure to fight her on the ground and when she starts channeling her overload run up the stairs to avoid the knock back. and keep an eye out for healing presences
It was a good story, I guess the part I never got was (gameplay aside) what was Valkorion's true motive in letting himself be killed in KOTFE so he could seize control of the Outlander? Wouldn't he be more powerful in life? Was he truly that bored? Did he just do it to amuse himself/prove to himself that he could still control the galaxy as a spirit? If so, biggest ego ever on a Star Wars character.

Valkorian isn't destroyed, there's a lot of theories about how he always escapes death but no one ever mentions how you only knock him down to 50% health, that's when the real fight starts.
What if his "death" sending ripples through the force is what reignited the spark of war throughout the galaxy? Like how vaylins rage was the only thing giving her army the motivation to fight?
I prefer the dark side speech at the end.

But who is gonna be the next villain? I mean there are still potential now since Vaylin's Spirit seems to reside inside the outlander's head and the rest of the family(Depending on your choice of action)
The fact that The Outlander's Vision where he/she get stabbed by Vaylin in the back and the rest of the Alliance lies dead in the throne room could mean either a possible return of Vaylin since it did not show Valkorion or his involvement in it.
The vision you're referring to is of the Dark Side Ending, wherein all of your companions are dead.
I have seen the Darkside ending and both Lana and Theron survives and the ones you chose to spare.
I think it refers to something else.
cuong tran Visions, however, are just suggestions. Vaylin dies in the story before this vision occurs (You literally have no option to spare her life).
Everyone that you have the option to kill throughout the story is dead in the complete Dark Side ending, if you choose them to be.
But her spirit was captured by Valkorion and used inside the Outlander's head. I can imagine the next expansion would be her changing roles with Valkorion. At least that would make it possible for the vision to happen
But I still wonder. If Vaylin is beyond saving. Why are there options where you can suggest her to do the "right" thing? Of course in many of th choices it often refers to Option 1 when speaking with her.
Most people who make even Lightside Videos usually mix 1 and 2 together and for some reason also use 3
cuong tran For the attempt at telling her she's better than Valkorion, and telling her she can still change (etcetera), she's ultimately killed because she *_continued to refuse_* help from the Outlander.
For the complete Light Side ending, Vaylin is the only character who dies before facing Valkorion.
Based on what I have seen, I think that the uprisings bring back at least one comp each, since Zenith was among them for one on Nar Shadaa. If that's the case, it could be possible that, each month, a new uprising might be added, which could bring back more of the comps. Who knows, we might get our girls back. Nanokan Lol. I was actually talking about the difficulty of this fight. I think the story is fine as a sniper. Beware that dinky pistol, it's taken down three Eternal Monarchs. :P
