This is Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for the Nintendo Switch and is developed by Monolith Soft and published by Nintendo.
Since I'm replaying Xenoblade Chronicles 2 in Japanese, I thought I'd also switch it up and use the swimsuit DLC costumes.

I'm replaying the game in Japanese and thought it'd be funny to have them all in their swimsuits. I'm glad you think so lol

Rex: Okay, I get that. What I DON’T get is… why are you two in your swim suits?
Mythra: It was my idea. I felt maybe with us being in these, revealing a little more, it would maybe make you REALLY want to save us. You know, more than usual.
Rex: …I mean, no spoilers for our future in Xenoblade 3, but… the two of you know what happens between us AND Nia, and that was after I saved y’all with your normal attire, so this just seems pointless. Although… I do like being able to see more, so it’s still a win!
Mythra: So… you gonna pour your heart out or what?
Rex: Pyra, Mythra… JOIN ME- AHH!!! **soils pants from looking at them in their swimsuits**
Mythra: Rex… you’re an idiot. But, you’re our idiot and that’s why we love you.
Pyra: Yes, of course!

In hindsight, this is why Rex was especially harsh on Glimmer when the latter cried about wanting to go to her Homecoming. To her permanent death. Rex doesn't wanna hear about anyone going to their death like it's a good thing. Certainly not his daughter who is the spitting image of her mother.

@@lilshokan If Mythra and Pyra are technically the same, just split personalities, doesn't that technically mean that Glimmer is also Mythra's daughter? At least, her half-daughter or something like that?
Also, it's kinda ambiguous who Glimmer really belongs to since she has Pyra's hair color, Mythra's personality, and Pneuma's hairstyle, and when Linka referred to how she looks like her mother, she said , "She looks like *them*... Exactly." My head-canon is that Glimmer is both Mythra's and Pyra's child's data put together, since people from Origin are basically just that: Data .
@@TheQueensAce719 given the fact that XB3 confirms Rex has a child with both Pyra and Mythra and Nia... and mostly confirms they are twins more than split personalities.
@@iceman3317they were split at the end of xeno2 though they started out more as split personas.
@@TheQueensAce719So xenoblade 2's ending shows that mythra and pyra split into 2 separate individual people, which is why everyone makes the joke about rex showing his 3 wives "a thing or 3". Prior to that though, in land of morytha mythra tells you that they're essentially all the same, ultimately just being the physical embodiment of a portion of the Trinity processor named Pneuma, but rex chooses to call them collectively either mythra or pyra based on the player's choice.
I'm not smart enough to discuss how the whole Trinity processor works though other than each 3rd acts as a balance to keep the others in check (which is why Alvis goes berserk in 3 because Pneuma and which ever one malos was were no longer around to keep him in line). But to answer your question in the most simple of TL;DR terms-
Pyra, mythra and Pneuma are essentially all the "same" until xenoblade 2's ending where Klaus splits them into 2 unique individuals... And Pneuma IDK what happened to her, I assume her consciousness got split between the 2. Glimmer has red hair so she absolutely is pyra's daughter.
Rex's Final driver armor was so bad ass. This whole game was the ultimate anime. Games that try to emulate anime in it's feeling often forget tropes like this and the fluid movements too. Each cutscene was a treat because XB2 never felt stiff. Not even once. It always felt like I was actually playing an Anime. I loved it so much man.
EXACTLY. It is just…so good, the tiny details in the way people move in this game is amazing to me, i feel like im always noticing something new
I hope it gets the definitive edition treatment one day, complete with better lip synching and possibly voice direction.
Much better then the xenosaga reboot of xenogears what with its space opera focus
from beginner rex to gigachad that can even go up to toe with sword master like jin rex is definitely a real chad.

My only criticism about the English VA was that this scene was lacking the raw emotion my man in the Japanese version had. But I adored everything about the English voice acting otherwise.
Yeah, especially when Rex screams "Join me." I feel like the English VA didn't quite capture the raw emotion of the Japanese VA.

This cutscene was just sooo amazing that I ended up going out to buy the trilogy for this game. Never played xenoblade chronicles ever, but this cutscene has so much passion and heart in the voice acting and the music. The music is top notch as if it was specifically made for this cutscene. Here's to hoping I like the game.

My guy, it's big boobed anime women in swimsuits. While I do agree that they are tier designs, there's a billion big boobed anime women out there, some of which are even fire and light themed.

I'm just saying there's plenty of big boobed light/fire themed anime women out there, some of them are even in the SAME DAMN GAME. Their actual designs are just kinda meh, it doesn't scream anything about their personalities to me, beyond having fire and light powers. This shit ain't JoJo, the designs are merely serviceable (in more than one way too).

It’s because of this and a few other cutscenes that I decided to play the game in the Japanese dub as it sounds 1,000 times better than the English dub

Well the subs are taken from the english dub, and they’re too lazy to change it when you switch voices (have you played in eng? It’s pretty memorable the way he says “i CoULd gEt uSEd tO THiS”

Brings back memories. From that moment on I used the green sword every single fight. It was quite easy to do with food though I no longer know how I did it.
@Next-GenNeptune If I remember correctly to activate this mode you had to charge up a scale. And there was food that gave nice buffs over time to charge it up more quickly. I believe you could eat two at a time? May be that you also had to learn combos a bit. I think I remember slightly that combos were also part of the charge-up but if you reach that story point those should already be there. I ain't really clear on the exact know how anymore. But I could fill the scale every fight and use the mode.

The English voice actors were pretty great, but I almost want to play it again in Japanese now.
Seriously, I can't believe there's people who actually likes English casting. Voice actors didn't even see the cutscene, and they hadn't any context neither. The voices might be good ones for the characters, but the lack of information makes it horrible

@@roughriderdave No lol. The director of the dub affirmed that the voice actors hadn't seen any scene of the game, and they hadn't context neither. If you try to interpretate a character without knowing who are them, everything with the dub goes wrong. And that's what just happened with XC2

Probably on purpose. Cognitive Dissonance, Syncopation, or something? One of those. Prob a musical effect to reflect the context of the scene.

You noticed that Rex is just around 15++ right? What you expecting from some one to sound like adult in that age?

and while it's not 100% voice of a full grown male, it's far from this childish voice you have here
