I'm old and remember the "controversy" and media storm of Steve working with crocs while holding his baby. I cant imagine the social media rage that would set off today. Dealing with any social media involving animal rescue is not for the faint of heart. Also, I love the vlog and appreciate seeing and learning about the other animals too. So please keep showing the mammals. 😊
Most people still believe in spanking their children. Those people wouldn't last a minute in a debate criticizing their own behaviors. Humans are fickle and weak. That's why humans need machinery, like guns, to kill things. Humanity is full of cowardice.
Don’t let the negativity slow down your passion … Steve Irwin is with you in Spirit cheering you and Gabby on as you pursue your dream of the sanctuary and conservation awareness 💜
I grew up watching Steve. I think your an awesome advocate for animals. Your passion and love for animals, along with their well-being, show in the videos you create. I have learned so much from you. I wish you success in your endeavors. 😊
I was only 7 years old at the time of his death living in Germany. 18 years later, I'm 25 years old and now I am an advocate for the care and well-being of alligators and crocodiles. Rest in peace Steve Irwin. Your legacy is not forgotten and will continue for generations to come.
I was 9 years old when it happened almost 10. I arrived home from school and as i did my older brother told me that Steve died. I couldnt believe it either. I researched it like u could in 2006 as i found it its real, i was upset for a week. Still today i think about Steve and his once in a Millenia Legacy.
Wow I can't believe it's been that long since Steve has passed away, it is tragic when and how passed. He was such a down to earth guy, his love for the animals and reptiles was phenomenal and how just wanted to teach the world about these gorgeous creatures, such a huge inspiration. Just like brian Barczyk, I really miss them both. His wife and kids taking over the zoo and continuing his legacy is amazing. I watch his son all the time
I admired him and his loving heart. There are so few like him, he made millions appreciate creatures we normally fear or are repulsed by. I wept and was actually angry at him initially... His reach was global, a true loss to the world, and not just to those involved in animal work.
I watched Steve all the time and I am so glad that his family is keeping his legacy alive. I would not know half the things I do today about animals if it wasn’t for Steve and you and Gabby. Thank You guys ❤️
I love you guys so much! I respect all the work you do! Your channel deserves to grow much bigger cause you are an incredible educator! Thanks to you I learned so much about crocodilians and animals in general! Keep it up! ☀
We can see the love you have for your animals. I have learned so much from watching and listening to you. You are the voice for the voiceless. God bless you and Gabby❤ Rest in paradise, Steve.
You explain being an environmentalist so well. I never appreciated crocodiles or alligators until watching you and Gabby. I hope you go to Australia to meet his family.
I agree completely. Being like Steve Erwin is a compliment. It’s like when people try to say crazy single cat lady as an insult. Fostering and being in cat rescue is a passion and I’m much more happy and fulfilled than any of those negative people with no passion in their lives ever will be. Steve Erwin, you, and the many animal RUclipsrs who are working with animals (especially reptiles) to educate the public in a genuine way are doing amazing work
Thanks for keeping his memory alive after 18years, WOW!! You've just jogged my memory as to why I love alligators and crocodiles. He was amazing,🎉 and so are you and Gabby, you've got passion for animals ❤
I miss Steve! He was so energetic, and had such passion, I see that with you and Gabby! You are always interesting to listen to, and I've learned so much! Don't ever give up on your passion!❤❤👍💖
I can't believe it's been 18 yrs 😮. I feel so old now 😪. It was so sad when that happened to Steve Irwin. I'm glad his son is keeping up with the animals. Stay safe, Chris. I wouldn't want anything to happen to you or Gabby.
Steve's passion was to save every animal & species that he could. He was burden with the thought of the loss of conservation areas & animals. He genuinely would bring out the awesomeness of each animal & wanted people to care about all animals. "People will want to save things that they love". Steve Irwin. I love watching your posts & absolutely love the care & concern that you & Gabby take with each animal. I certainly hope that you & Gabby gain the same type of presence & larger than even Steve had for the sake of wildlife.
I also miss Steve... although I am not an animal activist, I loved the way Steve brought the reality of the fact that all animals have a place in our existence... He showed that even the most dangerous animals have a purpose to the complex ecology of our world. I love what you are doing, like him, are educating others, as stupid as many of them are, to try to show that we all need to be good stewards of all of God's creatures... Please keep up your passion for good animal care, telling one and all the truth about them and squashing lies and myths about them... Thank you, Chris & Gabby, and keep up the memories and passion of Steve Irwin alive.
I can't believe it's been 18 years 😢 Thank you for keeping his vision alive and being a voice for the animals that aren't usually considered cute or cuddly. You're doing a great job! 💚
I loved Steve. His son Robert looks just like him. I also watched Jeff Corwin; but I wanted to be a exotic vet (never happened lol). I remember that day as well; I am only a few years older than Chris. I still watch their RUclips channel. Would love to travel there but I don’t think I can do a 24 hour flight plus cost.
I loved watching Steve Irwin, learning about different animals and conservation. It was a sad day when he passed. To be compared to him is an honor. Always will be, despite the intent behind the comment. I believe in you & your mission. I enjoy updates on all the animals you care for, big & small. I appreciate you & Gabby! I also appreciate the dedication you both have, which is easily seen. Keep up the awesome work! 💖💖💖
Steve was a true wildlife warrior, as I mentioned on one of your other platforms, his Zoo in Brisbane was one of, if not the best I have visited. His educational talents were great and now his family have taken his legacy and continuing it. Great video Chris.
You both brought up some very valid points. I hope you both remember that no matter what you guys do, some people are always going to hate, criticize what & how you do something, or be jealous because they can't nor ever would do what your doing. It's a crazy world we live in anymore. Why can't people just be happy you guys are doing what your doing? You really need to have tuff skin - I'm not so worried about the animals hurting you (your doing what you love to do with countless years experience), it's the people that constantly try to burst your bubble that worry me. Don't ever let those haters take the wind from your sails. Chris, you're making Steve Irwin proud!
both of you are rare finds today in your care for every creature that graces this life. Dont let the haters matter to you. You are better than that. What you are doing is fantastic.
I remember feeling very sad when Steve Irwin died, he was an amazing man he had such a passion for animals it was contagious. To be compared to him is a great compliment, anyone who can’t see that is a fool!
He was certainly one of the best. I loved watching his show. His death was so shocking and then sad. I am sorry Chris you lost a great friend. Thank you for this beautiful memorial of Steve Irwin. 💗
You guys teach as you show each animal. I've never heard of a couple animals you have but now know what they eat, where they're from..etc. Living in Delaware we don't have crocs and gators and I'm now obsessed with them getting yours healthy and trained. I started following you guys when you took in one of Justin's animals. I think it was his chicken or turkey. Steve died doing what he loved and most people could only hope to go out that way!
i was about 8 years old when it happened. but i still grew up watching him. he was a great inspiration for me. a watched wildlife docu's for as long as i can remember. and because i live in western europe where we dont have much wildlife most of the exposure to wildlife was through tv. no one has influenced my interest in reptiles as much as he did.
It's difficult to comprehend how someone can work in a positive manner with dangerous animals, but Steve taught me how it was possible and today I appreciate the work being done by so many dedicated people who deserve our support.
This earth was most definitely blessed to have had Steve Irwin upon it. I am most grateful to people who follow in his footsteps, like you. Just one thing, don't just show gators. I gotta have my Poppy fix!❤
Being compared to Steve Irwin is truly an HONOR! Those who leave negative comments online often lead empty lives filled with misery. By spreading mean and hateful remarks, they mistakenly believe they have power, attempting to bring others down with them. They reflect their own unhappiness onto others, trying to make others feel as bad as they do. They hide behind their screens like "internet gangsters." It's disheartening. We all have a limited time on this earth, and we should strive to spend it doing what we love. Chris, you are a true inspiration. Thanks to you and your channel, I've gained a new understanding of alligators and crocodiles. Your intellect and wisdom are genuinely remarkable, and I appreciate you for sharing them.
12:57 those detractors are just jealous that they can’t have your lives. For all the struggles you guys go through behind the scenes, you’re building something extraordinary and that definitely causes envy in some who see your success.
Respect to Steve and to you Chris&Gabby! When i was a kid, i was watching Steve Irwin show on cable in Poland and now in my 40-ies i'm watching you. Love your passion and dedication! Do not care about all negatives from social media and internet, you guys knows what you are doing and what is best for animals :) ps. Steve would be proud of you because you absolutely mastered gator handling and put it on the whole new level.
Steve was so passionate about the animals and his wife and kids still work with the animals at australia zoo. Being compared to Steve Irwin is beyond a complement!
I think I was a sophomore in HS when I found out Steve Irwin died. I was already incredibly sad but I lost it when I saw his daughter gave a speech on tv for his memorial service
I admire you and love watching your content! I grew up watching Steve and all of the work he did. His kids are still doing the amazing work that he left behind. Keep it up and continuing being like Steve ❤ (in the best of ways).
What you said reminds me of one of my favorite lines from the movie “ Steel Magnolias “ when Shelly said “ I would rather have 30 minutes of wonderful than a lifetime of nothing special.”
I appreciate all the work you guys do! I personally love all the other animals you show in addition to the crocodilians, so please keep that up! You are saving animals while educating the public. That’s the legacy Steve left behind, and I’m so happy to know that there are others following in his footsteps. RIP Steve Irwin
I absolutely LOVE these type of vlogs bc we get more personal with you and gabby and we do get to get more on a “personal” level. Not to mention that out of all the comments I’ve left on those I follow I can say honestly that this is the ONLY CHANNEL that answers or replies 90% of the time I comment. He may not respond back to a comment he’s already replied too (like comment more than once to a comment)but he does at least reply on most of them I’ve left. He answers my questions. Doesn’t matter if I agree with them…. I learn something new every day I watch their vlogs. I hope the ignorant comments aren’t enough to cause you to stop posting these everyday. I sincerely look forward to them everyday. And I’m super invested in Dino’s journey!! Bella and Big Mac too but I can’t tell you how excited I’ve gotten each time he has eaten on his own. Thank you for sharing. Those of us that truly appreciate you and look forward to seeing your vlogs truly appreciate everything y’all do. The world needs more people like you and gabby in it. ❤
Your better then Steve Irwin I rember him when I was a kid. You do what makes you happy I’ve been watching you over a year now but not much but when I do listen you care a lot and you make my day. Keep the good work up and me and my daughter learned a lot by you talking.
I'll never forget when he passed away. I cried so much for his family and for the loss of a true legend. I had the pleasure of meeting Steve and Terri before they were famous. He had come to Florida to film at an AFB and they swung through the little park I worked at near Orlanda. The show hadn't even aired the first episode. He was just as animated in person as he came across on the show. He talked to me after a feeding show and he was so nice. He was telling us about his show that was coming out and how much he loved alligators and crocs. It was about 10 months later that his show came out.
Steve Irwin was a one of the kind, fantastic, upbeat, and caring person. You can see it in his kids and wife, who continue his legacy. His loss is still felt by so many of us. I'm curious, Chris, if either of your parents loved animals as well, or if there was someone, in your personal circle who influenced your love of animals? I can't imagine YOU in a cubicle!! It's pretty cool to see you loving what you do! I wish for you and Gabby many, MANY happy years doing what you love; living your dream. "There is no ego in rescue." Excellent point Gabby. I'm just very glad that you two are all about rescue, and not all about popularity. I think your platform WILL grow because you are genuine, and don't cater to the "Hollywood," form of entertainment. I don't know about others, but I appreciate the REAL content you put out.
Team Poppy! The gators are amazing but yes, the whole ecosystem from top to bottom is important. I love you guys for being so real about this. I used to really loathe the profit motive we are forced to operate under, but if you look at it as a tool rather than something you are forced into, it changes the game. And as you see it can amplify things. Proud of you for all your huge efforts to communicate with the public, and also everything you don't share with us, the tough days, the difficult decisions, the lack of sleep etc etc, that you live with to do what is important to you. Amazing examples of humanity. Proud of you.
Please never stop showing the other animals! Personally I've learned so much about different animals through your channel and gained a new appreciation for so many other species that i otherwise never would have known about or learned about.
He was definitely a force. I miss him so much. Watching his son and daughter and wife still allows me to see him through them and their work. His son looks just like him. I can't believe it's been so long. I was at home with my parents and we watched it on the news I was shocked. I was 31 when it happened going on 32 on the 22nd. Now I'm going to be 49. When I first watched his shows it was on Saturday mornings on NBC then later on I watched him on Animal Planet once I was able to have cable TV. Such a great guy and legend. He was a force and so full of energy.
I never watched him on TV as a kid, but I remember one day being told by my uncle in his garage that Steve Irwin, one of the most famous wildlife educators had died. I was 5 years old at the time but didn't really know who he was until I got into crocodilians last year and learned how important he actually was for the animal community. A great man who, just like many others went too soon.
Great Tribute! Grew up watching Steve. I don't ever comment on anything. And don't read comments. Too negative. At 48 urs old I haven't been infected by the short attention span these days and watch the long VLOGS. Love them. Keep up the great work. I grew up in Central Florida and was always in Ocala National Forest.
I grew up in southwest Florida and spent some times in the glades. It so awesome you did this in Florida. It’s a place I’ve always cared about. Thank you
Chris... you're amazing my dude, i completely agree with everything you said, load of love from England... May favourite Steve Irwin quote... Steve Irwin 2004: What good is a fast car, a flash house, and a gold-plated dunny to me. Absolutely no good at all. ❤
I grew up watching Steve and then showed him to my son who absolutely loved watching him. He was an amazing man and his kids are continuing his legacy along with people like you and Gabby. I hate the people who just want to crush people's spirit and passion. For all those who hate there are many more who you truly inspire. Keep being the good people you are.💚
I'm in my 60's and loved watching Steve Irwin.....back then...... Now I love watching you guys, every night....and I see crocodilians way different now so thank you for that.
Ignore the haters. They don't even realize that they watch the videos and comment and you benefit. They have the ability of not watching. What you are doing with and for these animals is amazing. I look forward to visiting your sanctuary when you open it. I want to meet Asami.
I chuckled at Chris commenting about the porcupine. I tell my husband every time he goes in to feed Lil Dude or interact with him, that he's more concerned about injuries and death from the porcupine than any of the alligators or snakes. ❤
I remember the day too. I would watch the crocodile hunter every morning before school. It made me feel normal knowing someone else was passionate about animals as me. I would get bullied for bringing bugs to school in jars and catching frogs. One kid even smashed a jar of bugs had and the principle yelled at me telling me to catch them all. I was on my way to school and my teachers asked how I was feeling. When they told me Steve died I was confused as I just saw him on TV(kid brain). I was even excused from my work that day.
Passion and courage should be celebrated and aspired to - there will always be those who are contrary to everything due to their own inefficacies. They don't merit a second of attention. The effort you put in your work is all that matters.
blows my mind people could say "you're just like Steve Irwin" in a negative way. There were so many subtle ways in which Steve interacted with animals that showed how much he respected them; like he wasn't egotistically trying to showcase how "brave" he was, that wasn't the point. He put the animals first always. Very much admire yall's similar approach to animals and how you work with them.
Great tribute, worry less about impression of others and more about what you know is right and works for you and your family both human and animals at the sanctuary!
Thanks! The reason I mention it is there are literally THOUSANDS of comments saying the same thing, it’s not one or two but THOUSANDS expressing the same sentiment so it needed to be addressed
@@GatorChris_ I’ve learned so much from your vlog just as Steve Irwin was a pioneer in animal welfare and conservation I see the same thing with you and Gabby too! Any animal be it a pet or wild deserves caring like you give those in your sanctuary. Gabby makes a great point about exploitation versus morality. How many hundreds video for personal gain or gain of followers whereas you do it to support the sanctuary and care for those animals, many of whom may have been put down or euthanized or considered a lost cause, for example Dino or Tadpole. Instead you’re getting them vet care best food and enrichment! Heck those animals eat healthier than most humans lol! I mean that as a compliment! I love seeing all the animals, Jellybean reacting to whether or not there are blueberries, Big Mac nudging Bella, Bella making baby noises (or making dirty looks or trying to get closer and waiting mouth open, like ahem I’m waiting (impatiently lol)) or when she notices Big Mac got two pieces of food and she got just one.
Steve Irwin, Fred Rogers, and Bob Ross are like the trifecta of positive influence from the millennial era. I loved watching Steve grow up. He was my segue into really seeing reptiles as more than just creepy crawlies under a rock. Chris reminds me of him a lot in the way he'll be walking along and then just cuts to "look at this neat insect I found". There is such a mindfulness of all the world around him, not just the animals they take care of. And yea, the gators and Akila are interesting. But it's deeper than that. Big Mac, going through that spell of blindness and finally healing up. Bella, slowly warming up and becoming a proper nuisance! And Dino finally eating! Jellybean, and those rare moments he's sweet. Playful Zazu. Poppy and his addiction to pets and monkey biscuits. Hazel with those big cute eyes and that crazy personality. All the tortoises plopping in the middle of the food. I could go on and on and on XD Chris and Gabby connect us to all the individual personalites, their quirks both cute and dangerous, and you can't help but care.
@@GatorChris_ You are most welcome! And thank you, both of you, for sharing your lives and passion with us. We take so much for granted these days, I want ya'll to know the effort is appreciated!
I would like to say that I like all of the animals shown in the vlogs and always learn alot of information from you guys. Before I watched your videos I didn't even know crocs and gators can be trained the way you do it and I'm always amazed watching the videos. Keep up the good work.
I love these videos. I love listening to who you truly are and there are many of us that feel that way! I’ll listen to all the feelings and things you have to say. I didn’t know all that much about Steve Irwin but what I will say is that you have changed my perspective on these animals and inspired me in many ways. You are another Steve Irwin and I say that in the good way!
Please keep doing your amazing content just how you do it. I love seeing all the animals and learning about them. It's super chill, positive and relaxing. 😂 You're right about negative people on social. Best not to feed the trolls, as they say. I've donated to y'all because I think you're doing amazing work. Thank you!
I love the work you guys do and i benefit from watching your content. Some people will find a problem with anything and everything. Keep up the good work ❤
Gabby, you're Big Mac's public defender 😂🤣 Every time he bites Bella on the tail.. or anywhere else , you immediately say, "See how gentle he was!"... just like a protective mother! We see!! I SEE!!❤
I don’t feel that you guys exploit! You guys EDUCATE the public!! Your daily vlogs are awesome and appreciated!! 👍😃❤️
Heck yeah
Thank you for remembering our Aussie hero Steve Irwin…Robert is definitely keeping Steve’s dream alive. Love from Melbourne Australia

Thank you for wanting to educate and for wanting to save as many animals as possible.
Well said guys keep up the great work that you do!
RIP Steve Irwin.
I prefer your calm energy as an educator but i truly love and respect Mr. Irwin for the work he did. 💚🐊

Thanks!
Steve did so much for animal conservation and was a huge loss, i hope Brian and Steve are together in the big zoo in the sky :-)
do you! do not listen to idiots. You two are real . ignore the haters and toxic people. they have mental illness Rock on!
Do not care about all negatives from social media and internet, you guys knows what you are doing and what is best for animals :)
ps. Steve would be proud of you because you absolutely mastered gator handling and put it on the whole new level.
You INSPIRE US
Thanks!
Fantastic video Chris and Gaby. Steve Irwin left an amazing legacy; thank you for this tribute.
All the best! 🙏
I wish more people mirrored Steve’s views on animals & conservation. He has been sorely missed by many. I’m so glad you help keep his memory alive💚
Beautiful video and I giggled when Big Mac bit Bella's tail 😂
How on Earth can being compared to Steve Irwin be bad?! It’s the highest compliment I can give! He was such an amazing person.
I still watch Steve's stuff, his passion is unmatched.
I love your alligator stuff too
I'll never forget when he passed away.
Thank you! Both my parents liked animals, but not like I do lol
Chris, you are an amazing man!! Anybody that says negative things about you , as my mom would say "have flies in their ointment".
Thank you!
9:48 Exactly, Animal Planet and Discovery+ went downhill so much after Steve Irwin passed 💔🐊
And I think that was beautiful that Chris remember Steve Irwin on this day😊❤😢
I grew up in southwest Florida and spent some times in the glades. It so awesome you did this in Florida. It’s a place I’ve always cared about. Thank you
Steve was so awesome!!
A true legend
Chris... you're amazing my dude, i completely agree with everything you said, load of love from England...
Thanks!
I chuckled at Chris commenting about the porcupine. I tell my husband every time he goes in to feed Lil Dude or interact with him, that he's more concerned about injuries and death from the porcupine than any of the alligators or snakes. ❤
Haha yep
I remember the day too. I would watch the crocodile hunter every morning before school.
It made me feel normal knowing someone else was passionate about animals as me. I would get bullied for bringing bugs to school in jars and catching frogs. One kid even smashed a jar of bugs had and the principle yelled at me telling me to catch them all.
I was on my way to school and my teachers asked how I was feeling. When they told me Steve died I was confused as I just saw him on TV(kid brain). I was even excused from my work that day.
You are living your dream just like Steve Irwin! I wish I had more to say but I’ll put into one word……. Your incredible (2 words)
I hope some day the Erwin family comes to meet you at your preserve. RIP SE!
You're 100% right, there is difference between living and just existing. Follow your passion.
I never missed his shows
Great tribute, worry less about impression of others and more about what you know is right and works for you and your family both human and animals at the sanctuary!
I loved Steve Irwin, it's still sad after all these years.
I cryed myself. Such a big loss of a great wildlife educator, wrangler, and animal lover❤
Aw thank you so much!!
@@GatorChris_ You are most welcome! And thank you, both of you, for sharing your lives and passion with us. We take so much for granted these days, I want ya'll to know the effort is appreciated!
His wife and children have taken over from where he left off.
We see!! I SEE!!❤
