I've been listenting Florence since 2013 and i still think this is one of her best songs. It combines all characteristics we love her for - Beauty, magic, epicness, majestic vocals and CHAOS
This has got to be her most powerful song live alongside blinding, it really shows off her freakishly amazing vocal talent! I will see this live one day. I WILL!
Florence is absolutely amazing live! To all those people bellyaching that she's off tune because her live performance doesn't sound EXACTLY like the studio recording of the same song, you people are missing the magic that is raw & heartfelt performance of a musician with passion for their creation. I admit there were times during some of her live shows (in the past) when her voice was shaky and fluctuating however as she's matured more into herself & polished her craft, those moments have almost completely disappeared. She put her foot down on having her voice unnaturally modified for her last album and her insistence paid off, not only is her music better than it has ever been, her live shows will pump you up and blow you away with how incredibly they are performed.
Well, a lot of that is because she stopped drinking abusively as she used to about 10 years ago. I was at this performance, and am from/live not far away from Manchester, and the conditions these performers have to sing and perform n during Bonnaroo are brutal.
Did she used to not sound the best live,? I've seen tons of concert footage and I've only heard one bad note, you could tell she realized it too but quickly recovered. I've always thought her voice is flawless.
I had a dream where she and the machine were performing live in my really small city, They played about three songs and then the whole audience disappeared and I was the only one left and Florence was about to leave the stage, and I screamed and begged not leave, she looked me in the eye and kept signing this song. I can't die without seeing here perform live, I can't.

I'm so happy this video exists. I was there at this show in 2011 and it was ELECTRIC. I was underneath the tent, and it was so wild just how many people were there to see her. One of the biggest crowds of the weekend.

❤ wow for everything happening in this, everyone on that stage is in such top form, but i would also like to add special mention to Chris Llyod Hayden and the drumming on this track. He is above and beyond slaying, throughout, but astoundingly so in the final section of the song, with the hi hat and kick patterns. What an ending. Impeccable, fierce, and so powerful. Perfect for gorgeous willis to slay everything in sight at the front of the stage :) amazing. truly amazing. The whole band simply, or not at all simply, killed that stage, hard. bye bye stage, see you in heaven :)
The Glastonbury '10 version is even better - visually spectacular (very late afternoon, sun right in their faces), full string section, intense AF, and if anything, Flo sounds even more possessed.
