Today we are checking out of Portofino Bay but have a full day of Universal ahead of us. Oh and a quick visit to Volcano Bay too 😃

Stayed at all three premium hotels and love them all. Yes hard rock is the closest and portofino is the best looking but royal pacific is the cheapest and walkable to the parks too.
The way you have done it, which is the way we do it, for a 1 night stay for the express passes. Then we go with what ever is the cheapest to stay at as your not on the hotel area very much during your stay.
It’s always nice to try out a new hotel. Maybe one day we’ll try RP. I agree though. For the amount of time you spend in the hotel when just going for that one night we would go cheapest with express. X

Would you be talking about loews as the other one? If so then try it, we’ve done loads of disney hotels inc beach club and loews is my favourite hotel if florida. Havent tried portofino though. Another brilliant blog btw.

Can you tell me what website you went on to book a night at portofino with your annual pass discount? Can’t seem to find one. The universal site just keeps wanting to send me to attractions tickets to book via them?
Go to universalOrlando.co.uk.
Click the 3 lines on the right hand side.
Scroll down to the bottom and click language.
Change language to English US.
This will take you to the US site.
Now click 3 lines again and scroll down to annual pass holders.
Select hotels.
Now you can view the AP rates. Xx
