They're my favorite japanese band ever, I know they really tried to have a western sound but this still sounds 100% japanese to me despite the English lyrics. They blend alternative, grunge, punk, nu metal and industrial but still in a japanese sounding way so it's still pure J-Rock. This doesn't sound American at all, they sound a little british at times but that's as far as it gets. The English lyrics definitely help make it more accessible though.

Underrated band. I usually listen to visual kei bands and this band stands out. They almost remind of the smashing pumpkins.
they're about the closest thing to a J-Pumpkins we ever got. classic band
