@@Toyotajeff same here, sir. That's why I went with 2017 TRD Off-Road with premium package. It's got everything what Pro has except Pro skid plate and FOX shocks. However, with the amount of money that I was able to save with going with Off-Road trim (almost $7K) over Pro I can get whole lot more than just Pro skid plate and FOX shocks. When I was getting my Off-road dealership was asking $45,xxx for Pro whereas my Off-Road with premium package cost $39,xxx. Pro is good, but not as much for that price what Toyota is asking. In my opinion, Off-Road trim is the way to go.
Kong Lee I got my 18 off-road for 38, 36 out the door since I told them to take off the factory running boards and bed cover. Mine also isn’t the premium. But I didn’t want the premium since I don’t like leather seats or sun roof. Do wish I got the factory JBL speakers and painted rear bumpers.
Really great video Jeff. I have been waiting years to pay off my wifes Avalon so I could get my Tacoma. First of the year and I am bringing it home. I live in the Northwest, (Seattle) and these trucks are very popular here. Toyota Corp needs to send you on the road as a spokesman.

Researching a new truck after driving a 93 4Runner and a 2000 f250 i can’t get over how cool the automatic high beams are. Freakin awesome. Hahaha it’s the little things that make me happy.
I paid 33k for my 2016 TRD Sport Double Cab V6 Manual 4x4. Looks like the prices went up and only thing I see different is power sliding rear window and a sensor on the front grille. Power sliding rear window would be nice, but not a game changer. I have no idea what the front sensor does but my truck is fine without it. Toyota should offer less tech options and more options like lift kits, AT tires, lockers, superchargers, and maybe a diesel w/manual.
@@kroozctrl6284 I respectfully disagree. While the market for crude is one of very many factors to the US auto market, it does not have a direct correlation. When they refresh this truck, they should add cooled seats, put in an 8 speed automatic from the land cruiser, add LED headlights, and upgrade the v6 to have the same power as the new camry

I want a Tacoma now because I like to go shooting, camping, hiking, etc and a truck will support me through all of that. And that’s what I’ve noticed from my community as well, better have it and not need it than need it and not have it type of deal
Great Job! Just a comment, there's no excuse for not having intermittent wipers! Vehicles as far back as 1973, had intermittent wipers.. probably even before that. That's the earliest I specifically remember. I bought a 2019 SR, 4dr, with a Protection Package.. had the Predator step rails. Nice truck. One thing I highly recommend is installing sound deadening. I did the 4 doors, and back wall. It dropped the cab noise level, by 7db. I was able to drop the stereo volume substantially, because it wasn't battling road noise. You can have a conversation like sitting in your living room. And that's on higher noise rural roads. Love my Tacoma!
If you thinking of getting a new Toyota Tacoma this guy explains this good. I think you pay way to much on the TRD model for the extra features the SR are great if you use it as a work truck only, the SR5 v6 4x4 witch I got is the best one for what I use it for. And if you got money to burn the TRD sport, pro, and unlimited is for you. Rule of thumb just get the one that suits your needs.
Thank you for this video. It helped learn me a few things! I've been looking for a Tacoma for 2yrs now and this helped me realize what made some catch my eyes and not others! Thanks again.
I'm currently leasing two vehicles that terms will end in a few months. Your videos are helping me decide on which direction to go. Thank you for posting.
Great video! Giving it a thumbs up for entertainment alone. Few things to mention is that the some of the models have an outlet in the bed, some dont. Also, sunroof in Pro, and maybe limited. Kind of wished you mentioned what a tech package means on a Sport and Off-Road, as well. I already know, I have me a 2019 Off Road Tech package and loving the heck out of it!
2.7 SR5 Access cab 2WD. Re-geared to Nitro 4.88s, Paint matched rear bumpers, TRD grille, and found TRD Offroad suspension for sale. Total cost of upgrades = $1500. Only major options you missed are the 400 watt power plug in the bed and smart key technology with push button start is standard with automatic transmission in TRD, Limited and Pro.
Thanks for the great video Jeff. On my neck of the woods, nothing is added by the distributors, which who cares. However, I know this is not under your control, but the price on the items added by Southeast Toyota Distributor seems way steep. All-weather mats are $169 from the Toyota site, much cheaper elsewhere, they're charging $329. The paint protection price is steep as well. The step bar price is not horrible though. BTW, The Limited and TRD Pro have a sunroof, and auto headlamps standard BTW, but no big deal that you missed that.
Pick the front grills you like and toss out the ones you hate. Then toss out anything with a fake hood scoop (STOP WITH THE FAKE HOOD SCOOPS TOYOTA - THEY ARE STUPID).
