“We didn’t like it when it was your idea, but when it was our idea, we liked it.” My life summed up by a drummer. Track sounds killer, great job everybody.
Great stuff! Really love this kind of studio footage, would love to see more of your work with bands and how songs get worked on and written/adjusted and the gear/setups too. Cheers!
Awesome Justin. I have been following you for a while now and didn't know you were working with Willow Hill. I always have a blast sitting in with them when they swing through PA where I've known C.T. since school.
Justin-I'm a NYC session guitarist for decades, & I produce as well. I just want to tell ya -if I needed a 2nd guitar player, you'd be my first call. Love your playing, my man. Great channel...
Had a chuckle to myself when you said you’d go home and add a baritone to the track. I had this image of you opening a closet and pulling out a baritone opera singer like Bryn Terfel 😊 (i know you meant guitar) :) I’ve Been in Nashville for a long, long time and hate seeing places like Omni go. Progress i guess.
Hi Justin: You made an interesting comment about having melodies in place so that they can 'sing off of what you put down'. I've always worked from the standpoint of singing first and creating melodies off of what the vocalist put down. I'd be interested in your thoughts here... Thanks!!! Love what you do!
Often, no. But sometimes people wear multiple hats like I did for this project. Sometimes, the producer is also the mix engineer and the cowriter and played some guitar and keys and programmed loops on the record. On this project, my co producer mixed the record.
Ultimately, whoever is writing the check. In this case, the artist. But they trust us and hired us to present perspectives they hadn’t considered. It went very well on this project.

I’d love to see more of this type of content. Even if it’s not in omnisound! Love seeing the collaboration that takes place.
Love it! They are a talented couple we are proud to call friends!!
That woman can sing! Loved it, more please.
Alex is awesome

Willow Hill - Wow what killer vocals!!!
That was interesting - some in-site to the process. The vocals were totally excellent. Everybody seemed chilled and relaxed.
Love seeing peeks into the process.
Rockin' the Overdub Session T from your swag shop. Diggin' it my man. 🤙

Willow Hill is a great duo! Same with Kassi Ashton which I believe you worked with lol! RIP Omni
Yes! Kassi is so good. Her record comes out next month I believe
Nice!
Nice track, brother!

The female singer is bad ass! She reminds me of Amy Winehouse for some reason...
Miles...LOL!!!

It just depends on what you’re going for. Sometimes that interplay is nice
Sounds great - who was the steel player?
Scotty Sanders
Cool man. Does producing in Nashville also mean mixing??

4:58 hi! If i may ask, what is this thing on the kick drum (the duck tape)?
Just trying to tame some of the ringing sustain of the front head I imagine.
@@JustinOstrander thanks! It is very interesting. Never seen anything like that
Cool. But I still don't know if I'm supposed to drink whiskey or wine.
I think the answer is… YES!
Yes, such a shame that studio has shut now
Did I miss it somewhere...what are the names of the singers please.
First 30 seconds. There is a link to their RUclips and this new EP in the description as well.
@@JustinOstrander Thanks!
Does the producer get the “final say” typically, or the artist(s)?

Nice!
