SirTech was a small company, but made very serious games for the times. Played this a lot. I kinda liked the gimmick charachters, such as Weasel . He cussed like a sailor.
I've started playing this game for the 3rd time recently - it's still a piece of art. I've also started playing Jagged Alliance: Back in Action for a second time, and I still can't finish it. It's just not the same vibe. Even the mercs' balance Is different.
I've run into him in the military training complex in one of the houses. It was an extremely lucky encounter, since I've tailored my character to be martial artist expert, so he was down in a single turn. Actually killing him took ages with the puny 4-5 damage punches.
His spawn location is random, whild I see him everytime maybe he doesn't go where mike can show up (camberia sam, grimm, alma and even in rare cases meduna
@@docfoogus3064 I think he also moves around the map with one of the elite troop groups. This means he can die in auto resolved combat from militia defence for example.
@@GAnimeRO huh, you know I remember a friend saying he found mike on a sector neighboring the checkpoint where your pow mercs are sent. Advanced for a game from 1999, such a gem
Can read about Mike in the AIM alumni page. In 1.13 mod, Mike can be hired.Wound him enough and you can talk to him with a high leadership merc, such as Miguel, Gus or Raider, he'll ask for a medic and then he says that it has always been about money and he accepts to work for you, however, he's expensive. Just make sure he's not the last enemy, cause he'll bleed to death. His voice files sound original, so maybe he can be hired in the vanilla game as well, will have to test that.
He cant be hired in the vanilla version he always saying "You're a little late for that im already on the payroll". But try it out. You will may be successed!!! I hired him in Ja2 Urban Chaos!
Patrioti, glad to meet you :D Back in 1998, when i first played vanilla, i didn't know that he could possibly be hired if spoken to, while wounded badly and by a high leadership merc. As i said, i'll have to play a vanilla game and test this. JA2 has always been full of surprises, so it could be possible. Haven't played Urban Chaos but if it's based on 1.13, then it should be possible to hire Mike, as is in other 1.13 mods i have played. Such as, Arulco Revisited, Arulco Vacations and Vengeance Reloaded. Managed to hire him in all 3 of them.
@@melaniel.4269 That's a good explanation, but I suspect it's likely more personal than that. Ivan's nephew Igor has the following lines when encountering Mike: - Spot: "That Mike is here. I dislike battling compatriots, but Mike is an enemy of the Dolvich's." - Killed: "My uncle will be proud of me. He was not fond of this man." Alas, we'll probably never know for sure.
Never played the first two games, what a shame. Mike was by far the absolute best (and most expensive) merc you could hire in those two. He outshined everybody in every category, except Medic, were he was still good (99 Marksmanship, 98 Mechanical, 97 Wisdom, 97 Explosives, 67 Medic, 97 Health, 95 Agility, 94 Dexterity, Experience Class 8)
Mike is basically the god amongst A.I.M mercenaries. He was extremely expensive in ja1 and in alumni you can see if left due to "disagreements in payment" that's why some of the mercs from ja1 will comment on seeing him.
+Borislav Gridnev You can. The original game and 1.13 have it built in but the conditions have to be right. It's hard as hell though. Once you get him though he is $10,000 a day and well worth every dollar. My brother recruited him with Henning who has a high enough friendly recruitment rating. Fox has the highest in the game so she is also a good choice for being the recruiter. It'll take several tries so be patient. If you want to know the conditions are I can ask my brother for the website with that information.
there 's a hotkey in vanilla ja2, bound to key END, help manual is saying that it toggles merc field of view, but it never worked for me.... anyone knows what is the problem here?
How do you get JA2 to run so fast? I'm downloaded it on Steam and I'm having speed issues. It's playable, but I have to turn off my internet to get it to play decently. But yours is running great. Any tricks? My laptop isn't that great, but hell, its a 20 year old game, I think it should run better. My laptop is only a few years old and runs most stuff pretty good. I'm playing vanilla JA2 like you as well.
Something else that might be good is springing some money for the gog version, unless you are doing the ja2 classic dlc of ja2 wildfire the steam version runs like ass
His guys are STANDING, are BUNCHED, never miss even with burst and the enemy doesn't one shot him with starter pistols??? Not sure what game is he playing, they snipe me with pistols from Omerta lol. Even prone and with them.standing in the open.
Hey guys. This is my favorite game of all time. I played it from release in 1999, and would do a full playthrough almost every year or at least every few year since then. It is Ja2 vanilla. No mods. Expert. Ironman. Im now playing Ja3 and its awesome.

Thrown a mustard gas in a room where hes hiding, he died before i wanted to shoot him lol
Like being in an APC being attacked with molotovs :-p
Mike is seen at 5:50
I ran into him doing a two-man operation in a SAM. No AIM guys, no dialogue.
:(
With Maddog.
:)
This and JA 2 UB are my all time favorite PC games. Graphics be damned. They don't make games like this anymore.
Mike is at :
(Spotted)
Dr. Q. 5:51
Shadow 5:59
Ivan 6:35
Grunty 6:41
Dr. Q : 'Disappears into red mist, Oogway-style'

Do your guys ever miss?
One of the best strategy game...why aren't the others jagged alliance like this?
His soldiers aim too well for this to be just vanilla
I wonder why Ivan calls him 'lying Mike'.
Because Ivan's english is really bad, what he means is calling him a Traitor. Both Ivan and Gus see Mike as that for joining Deidrana
Mike also claims to have shot JFK if I remember correctly.

Works for me with Stracciatella. Maybe it's a problem with international keyboards?
drop the Mike... i meant,: Mike, drop it!

Run ja2.exe with integrated video device, like CPU
you should try ja2 2019 mod by kmoi, much better

Need to port this to ipad
why look easy,i play JA2wildfire hard lol
Thats like the worst strategy to group all your mercs together. This must be amature mode. They wouldve killed all your mercs in hard mode.
