    Nice work mate, always fun sampling quartz and hopefully ending up with a bit of gold in the end. I made it easy on myself and built a hammer mill for those kinds of crushes, beats the old dolly pot. Look forward to the results. Cheers Pete

    If it's rusting mate, it's Iron Pyrites

  • @hardrockuniversity7283
    @hardrockuniversity7283 Год назад +5

    If the gold is pure enough to look shiny yellow, then it will not oxidize like that. It is almost certainly a sulfide. Chalcopyrite looks very shiny yellow from the get go. Iron pyrite can surface oxidize to a yellow, but a fresh surface is usually more of a lightly greenish gray. Try heating some to a red heat and see what happens. It should rapidly oxidize. BE VERY CAREFUL TO HAVE GOOD VENTILATION as the gasses formed can have heavy metals in them and be extremely dangerous. A cast iron pan over a cook stove outdoors in a breeze can be safe. Just turn it off and let the charge cool before getting too close.

    The Boogeyman😂 We all look around for the Boogeyman when we are out on the hunt🥴 The snow is everywhere, it's nuts busted knuckles!!! Here in Arizona we just can't shake it, can't wait for the warmth & sunshine☺️ A lot of mineralized juicy bits out there🤙 Looks slushy out there, gathering snow out on that road☺️ You are in a car? Good job👍 Oh, that would have been great if that first pan would have turned out to be gold and that's a great question, I'm too new to answer the oxidation question. Happy hunting my friend🌟

    What a shockingly rich f***ing find mate. Jeez. That dust at the end 100% is gold. Probably a high copper content or its oxidized like ya said. The smaller it gets the less it looks and behaves like gold. It's annoying. That's why I had to learn Thiosulfate. You should buy a microscope or jewlers loop. I prefer a microscope man. I put a bit of it on a slide and run it through and hit it with a flashlight from above. Clears everything up more than a loop for me for identifying dusties like this.

    Gold doesn't oxidize. If it changes color that fast its pyrite. Chalcopyrite is a copper iron ore that appears very brassy in color. Iron pyrite is more grey/silver and will rust very quick.

    • @BustedknucklesProspecting

    What that he11 where is the piece in the thumbnail? I understand wanting to get views but please don't become one of these clickbait channels making the thumbnail a false flag! And In my opinion even if real putting a picture of the final take destroys the best part and one of the biggest reasons people watch and thats the mystery factor the not knowing from the start but watching as you collect it throughout the video and having the chance to try and guess what the final result/weight is before seeing the take first gives you a reason to keep watching till the end especially these days with everyone wanting to be right! If you wanna make an intriguing or maby a little but just alittle exaggerated of a title is one thing but visually showing the final results or pinnacle of the video without even watching is gonna lose alot of interest and love views If you were to just show an interesting picture with an intriguing maby just a little bit of exaggeration with an interesting picture maby showing a decent pan or something like that without spoiling the final take I would put money on quickly not only getting more views but more followers cause of the mystery and curiosity of what you're gonna come up with

    • @BustedknucklesProspecting

      What was your channel name called again? I’ll go over and see for myself how a self proclaimed thumbnail expert does his thumbnails for his own videos and compare views with mine 🤠

      @@BustedknucklesProspecting I'm saying this in all due respect sir im sorry to come off as disrespectful or like i know everything cause I don't i am a fan of yours i watch/enjoy your content alot including this just im alittle intoxicated and was really excited to be able to see you pull that out ! I don't have a channel I'm going off personal feeling comments ive seen on multiple different channels about the same thing and looking at the difference in views between those that I've seen and people who do make content have said but thats just from what I've seen so That doesn't mean what I think is completely true all the time with how much content is out there but a headline that gives you that build up affect with a decent picture will give you just as much without spoiling the desert

      @@BustedknucklesProspectingI love your content and so when I saw the main picture I was just super excited to be able to see a bonza of a mate like yourself actually pull that out and it was one of the first times I was disappointed at the end of one of your videos

    • @matthewsaleman58
      @matthewsaleman58 11 месяцев назад +2

      I also agree. Clickbait nonsense for a few specs of mostly fools gold in a pan. Nothing to do with the picture or even the title. I clicked on this video excited to see your great specimen find or
      maybe payable reef and was left disappointed. Come on. You don't want to go down this path. You could have used a different "truthful" title and thumbnail and it still would have gotten views. But these are both lies in the case of this video. The rock wasn't loaded with free gold nor did the thumbnail have anything to do with the actual content of the video. I have watched your videos for years and don't expect fibs.
