I recently purchased Air Twister on all platforms, and it’s an incredible game. I plan to do the same with Shenmue III, which I currently own on PS4. Instead of bringing Shenmue III to the Switch, I believe it would be better suited for Shenmue I and II. That said, I truly hope we can one day experience the complete Shenmue story, whether through a game or an anime-though a game would be my preference.Great Vid man!
Man great video with juicy intell. Much appreciated. Looking forward to the future of shenmue. I'm feeling much more optimistic about our beloved franchise again.
This might not be a trailer or any sort of announcement, but hearing the stuff in this video gave me the same butterflies in my stomach feeling I got when Yu Suzuki stated he only needed a publisher to continue the franchise
That's very good news Adam, a successful Shenmue 3 physical re-release for PS and a digital release for XB (and perhaps Switch 2) with some kind of extras, coupled with a publisher that wholeheartedly respects Yu Suzuki's vision, is the best possible thing for the franchise right now and may pave the way for the much desired Shenmue 4, we hope 🙏🤞
I'd love to see Yu get to complete the whole story as how he wanted. Yu, along with original fans of the franchise are getting on a bit now. I'll admit my desire for the 4th installment is nowhere near as strong as it was for the 3rd 20 plus years ago, checking the shenmue dojo website everyday for any news! It would be great if more of the younger generation get to know how ground breaking the original 2 were and help to support the franchise. Cheers for Shenmue video, I've missed them 👍🏻
Shenmue 3 gets undeserving hate. It was a Kickstarter project that was tightly budgeted and somehow managed to be one of the best iterations of Shenmue.
This is great news! Trying to connect Inin with some of the voice actors and people who have assets of the game is awesome. Possibly a folk hero of getting the bedt possible Shenmue III to exist
Hey I haven't seen your videos (or channel for that manner) until now, and I extremely appreciate the integrity you hold when talking about this, the history of the series can be frustrating, and with 3 all the same, but you keeping a focus on actual ideas and opportunities for the franchise going forward is something I will watch over someone else just going on a "gamer rant". This channel is imo, a solid example reason to why Shenmue 4 could work, with fans that are both passionate and respectful for the franchise, and the will to actually pitch in effort themselves for the game. Tbh I'd vote you to represent (whatever category of Shenmue fan I would be) if there was such a thing for Shenmue 4 I do think Shenmue 3 should have a smaller passionate team go through and fix the issues you mentioned (Temp voice lines replaced with finalized) and have issues within the game technical or grind related, ironed out, and if the reception of the game is "Hey, we would play this again because it's a smoother experience I can enjoy and want to support for continuation" and possibly have some support and minor DLC to compliment the game.
Brother, this video was fire 💪. Literally the most informative video i have seen of Shenmue as of yet. I hope for the game to be done exactly the way you mentioned, with a few tweeks for next gen consoles. And i hope they do remove the stamina mechanics. The weel definitively doesn’t need to be invented. I dont mind a few new things added to the games as they release, but they should stay consistent, at least with the game mechanics. I prefer to have a job driving forklifts like on Shenmue 1 vs. hunting food down, lol. I really hope ININ hears you and you get the chance to work with them and build a relationship with them. Im definitively talking with my wallet on day one for the Series X.
Fun fact about my history watching Adam's channel, the first video I ever saw was a Dreamcast video and the second was a Shenmue one...over 14 years ago! I love that after all of these years you are still going strong and still being passionate of these topics Also on a sidenote about Deep Silver, it is crazy how how VERY different the franchises are I can see some parallels between Shenmue and Saints Row as in the latter community it is widely known that insane development hell for Volition and strange (and questionable) decisions made by Deep Silver ultimetely led to Saints Row 2022 to be a critical failure (not sure about commercial but apparently it did decent but not enough) and Deep Silver did some crucial changes as was indirectly stated by RUclipsrs and fans who actually play tested the original game and saw part of the development but after the game came out all of them said the same thing that "the game released wasn't the same as the one we tested and saw" and in the end it came down to Deep Silver asking for changes Now Shenmue III wasn't a failure by any means, it did well overall for a dormant franchise and it had mixed opinions by fans mostly compared to Saints Row 2022 that did ok in sales, mixed in critics and it was poorly received by fans
So many franchises today seems to be made by either people who do not care about what they had or they just take the name and use is as a vehicle to shove in their own ideas not really caring if they actually make sense or not (and let's not get into how they act on social media when fans call them out) so hearing that Shenmue is actually in hands of people who actually care about it and want to respect Yu Suzuki's vision is pretty refreshing.
Always great to get first-hand impressions on the Shenmue series from yourself. I'm quite hopeful going forward with ININ. Happy to hear Sega was pleased with the Shenmue HD sales, too.
Shenmue III wasn't a bad game overall. I mean it was a publicly funded title that was offered for the community to contribute. The problem was the game was more of a concept on how to use a franchise that was known to spend millions on quality rather than a strict budget with very limited resources. Another issue was that particular genre when Shenmue was popular 20 years ago. It came when gaming society changed. Even though it was faithful to the first and second installments, it felt dated and out of touch to the new generation of gamers that the majority aren't into that particular style of playing. I love Shenmue of course. But even I have to admit as a gamer, time changes people, and people change in time. Shenmue III was stuck in between a ladder on where to climb in a confusing direction for gaming society.
If they re-release Shenmue 3 with all the patches and DLC they should also put it on the Nintendo Switch instead of just PS5. I think the Nintendo Switch sales would be higher.
Do you know if the Chobu village chapter that was promised in the initial Kickstarter video was cut due to pressures from Deep Silver or not & how much of that segment was worked on and finished from the main game?
Interesting to hear about Deep Silver's negative impact on 3, I hadn't heard too much about that, but as a fan I feel quite optimistic about the new ININ deal
Love ya Adam! You are a team player and looking to enhance our beloved Shenmue franchise. I want to also mention that Sega greenlit the Shenmue anime series on Crunchyroll and I saw some buzz for it. Let's all support a Shenmue 4 some day.
I would really like to see the location Baisha for Shenmue 3 and I hope that this will be realized and that we will see the true ending of Shenmue 3. Do you think the implementation of Baisha is realistic?
If it comes out on XBox I'll be buying it again. I'm not hopefuly for Shenmue IV, but I've never been this comitted to a game franchise either, so I will never abandone it either.
Tbh full disclosure I've yet to finish a shen moo moo game. But I always enjoy watching your videos as you are so passionate and well versed in various games/systems etc. This is really rad stuff! I'm a huge Sega fanboy as well and I'm always excited about any old IP getting a leg up. So ty for this video it's always a pleasure to see someone who cares so much about the things they are talking about ❤
I hated the food mechanic, for me it took away the incentive to explore the world. I would buy an xbox and/or PS5 version with no hesitation. The story elements of Shenmue 3 were very disappointing. That is good that you explained some issues when it came the voices, because there were times I was wondering why the audio was so inconsistent with the voices.
Hey Adam why aren’t hopefully that a Shenmue 4 will happen, a lot of people on the dojo are and the tweetathon have been pretty strong on top of that we got an anime. I do think Shenmue 4 will most likely happen but by now I don’t think Shenmue V will, maybe Shenmue 4 will be the last game then if it successful maybe Shenmue 0 or remake.
You're clearly thinking of someone else, I'm very clear, even in this video, that I think Shenmue 4 is highly probable. Shenmue 5 is the one I'm concerned about.
@ okay thank you cause I need that bit of hope too from you, all tho Shenmue 4 is most likely happen but since we’re at the end of 2024 and still no Shenmue IV announcement I think Shenmue 4 should be the last game cause I don’t see how long we can go unless Shenmue 4 sells 3-5 million copies in 1-2 years then yes make Shenmue 5 the last but we don’t wanna run that risk again.

*Shenmue* *III* I only started to play Shenmue III earlier this year when I got a Steam Deck (LCD 512 GB) for $250 from OfferUp. I actually bought Shenmue III about a week before I got the Deck as I still had my $5 from a pre-order that never went through. Got the game for only $4. From a story standpoint, it’s definitely the worst of the trilogy. Nothing moved in the plot. It’s mostly who was around during the Verdant Bridge. There’s also these bugs like when I do some turtle or frog racing, the guy speaking tends to fade in the background not clearly finishing his sentence. A lot of it is a waste of time. It’s a game that could be beaten in 10-15 hours but has padded gameplay and scenes to make it closer to 30 hours. And a lot of town people tends to be assholes and don’t want to help. With all the negativity aside, I still kinda enjoy the game for what it is. I’m actually having a second playthrough with it as I accidentally deleted my saves when trying to move the game from internal to external storage. You know what? I might actually enjoy Shenmue III more than the first Shenmue. When I first played the OG, I actually didn’t like it all that much. The pacing was so slow and a lot times, I’m in the arcade killing time to wait for a certain character to show up. If Shenmue II is a 9/10 to me, Shenmue is a 6/10 and I may give Shenmue III a 6.5 or even a 7/10. I think Shenmue III looks and plays better. It’s easier to control Ryo. OG had it weird when controlling Ryo. There’s also more fun mini games and ways to make money. I buy food all the time and even t-shirts for Ryo to change to. Shenmue III still FEELS like Shenmue. There’s this certain ambiance and quirkiness that all three games brings. If you see Shenmue III as more of a modern reboot of the first two Shenmues in terms of graphics and gameplay, and disregard the story, it actually does a great job bringing late 90s to early 00s style into modern gaming. I like Shenmue III if my expectations aren’t too high from a built up of 20 years of waiting, I don’t care about the story, and it’s a chillaxing game to feel cozy playing. I watch Cobra Kai and a lot of the over-the-top silly fun of that series is what Shenmue III still has. Some Japanese karate kid going around town and beating people up.
very informative video Adam ! Thanks for it. I'd love to see a director's cut edition with the cut content originally planned. if not i'd like to see this in Shenmue 4
This is promising news for the series and it feels like the ball has started rolling in any way for a Shenmue IV to happen. I agree with your expectations of what these announcements are, at first I didn't think ports etc would make a big difference and I really wanted a Shenmue 3 with more story content. But I don't expect that to happen. Hopefully it's an improved Shenmue 3 and it will sell well enough for a partner to join in. I will support the series and buy Shenmue 3 again. Inin seem like a good company and a good influence for Shenmue, if more people and all the Shenmue fans buy the game again then it could make a difference. Let's hope for the best and get the series finished.
A few years back I was able to attend some Zoom calls with the cast of Shenmue 3 and Bill Black, and hearing him talk about the behind-the-scenes for the voice acting on that game had me floored. It was such a passionate team working under such tight restraints - the amount of pro bono work that ended up getting done made the complaining from some fans feel so under-informed. I ultimately ended up liking Shenmue 3 quite a bit, but it's clear that it was a game straining against its limits. (I will also say that Shenmue 3's budget ultimately reaching around $20 million is public knowledge, he brought it up during an IGN Japan interview a few years back, so you didn't have to dance around that.)
I knew you’d host a video with this news dropping, even if you were traveling, lol. I’m optimistic, as I’ve grown frustrated with Deep Silver just sitting on S3. I have the backer edition (w/phone card) and the LR Complete Edition. Been waiting and hoping for an Xbox version, since the controller is the closest thing we got to a DC controller and where I bought my physical copy of S1&2 HD. I know it’s like 99% unlikely, but I’d love to see SEGA put a little support in, really just to help program in the Virtua Fighter engine to give us back that style that was sorely missing (for me) in S3. Otherwise, I’m on board with your hopes for the future too.
My hopes for the future of Shenmue: 1. Sega gives back the rights to Suzuki for the Virtua Fighter Engine 2. With the rumors of a Virtua Fighter reboot and VF5 recently coming to PC (I hope to see Shenmue characters like RYO in the VF franchise) 3. The story of Shenmue 4 and Suzuki gets feedback/advice or work with hardcore fans like you Adam so we won't get another "filler episode" and see the plot move forward 4. More Shenmue Anime 5. Other studios try making a Shenmue 0 (prequel) 6. If all else fails and Suzuki releases the Shenmue novel completed, I'll be satisfied to see fans use the final script and make their own A.I. created fan games (if the tech allows for that)
Definitely needs a UI overhaul. And to update the models and animations. And the MOST important thing is for the sega branding and characters and games to come back to the arcade and gachas.
It would definitely be nice to see a rerelease with a option to turn the food system off so I can have unlimited run 😅 plus og voice ren would be sweet.
I played the heck out of Shenmue and Shenmue II back in the day on the Dreamcast, and dreamed of Shenmue III for years like everybody else. Bought it on steam when it came out and haven't played it yet :/
Here’s hoping Inin can do a better job managing the Shenmue series. Very interesting to hear your anecdotes on some of the events leading up to shenmue 3 release. I really hope whoever gets involved with the franchise has the series’ best interests at heart and doesn’t mire it with corporate greed and corruption, which a lot of game series tend to end up being manipulated with.
Sad to hear these little revelations about Deep Silver and how they had a saying on how the game was released. At this point, as a Shenmue 3 fan, I would love to know more details about what was done by them and how better the final game would have been without them as publisher. I have little hope for Shenmue 4 and now knowing that the last Shenmue we got was ruined by its publisher hurts.
Interested to see where this goes, but I am not a big fan of ININ‘s release policy. Stuff like locking complete versions of games behind a limited run release and releasing an incomplete version to retail (Wonderboy Collection, ININ and Strictly Limited Games are the same company), and releasing limited editions for unbelievably high prices after the original physical release (Rocky & Rocky Reshrined, Asha) Still, Shenmue III (and possibly IV) could be in way worse hands.
A happy day thanks to Shenmue news. Even if the only news really is that a new company is now in position to do something with it. And I would love it if they could get Eric's voice in it. I really loved his voice for Ren. I hope they could get the original voice for Lan Di as well.
Adam, this video ROCKS. Question-it looks pretty likely that Sega is in full development of a new Virtual Fighter. Do you think there’s any chance Sega would license their engine to Yu Suzuki for him to make Shenmue 4?😊
Slightly disappointed that ININ are not a Japanese publisher, as they are a German one based in Berlin. But I'm willing to give them a chance. Also, would love to hear those stories. Maybe after it's been enough years to where the people involved are likely no longer there it'll be possible to tell them. You could also save the stories for if you ever write a book about your experiences in the industry.
Since they are a smaller publisher, i can see them talking with Xbox to bring a Shenmue 4 to game pass bc xbox does fund development of games to help release them to all platforms as long as they can get it for Game pass and on the xbox platform. They could get a big bag from Microsoft and it could work out for everyone on all platforms. They already did that with Capcom for Kunitsu Gami Path of the Goddess and helped fund it in partnership with Capcom. If it wasn't for xbox that game wouldn't have even seen the light of day.
Honestly, what I didn't like about Shenmue 3 was the reappearance of the enemy "The great Chai" from the first Shenmue bc neither Ryo or Chai recognized one another. What's up with that? Maybe Ryo beat him up that bad that he doesn't remember Ryo or the beating he suffered. But what about Ryo? Did he get into an accident somehow, maybe on the boat before he got to China? I sense conveniently placed bad story writing. I haven't even finished the game yet (I did get pretty far though) bc I put it down to play Shenmue 2 pal version on dreamcast, along with other dreamcast games 😅
I feel a bit stupid now for not buying Air Twister because normally Im absolutely aware of the vote with your wallet principle. So Im going to fix that mistake I made and buy it later today!
A PS5 version of Shenmue 3 would be nice, with enhanced graphics and maybe some bonus content or easter eggs. I would like to have a working Saturn console or more Arcade machines. Or maybe a bonus CD with the Shenmue anime series on it?
I would like a re-release of Shenmue 3, but removing all the Crowfunding elements (museum, fan portraits), better animations, QTE adjustments, removing everything related to histamine and food, returning Shenhua to its original appearance, telling to the story that Yu Suzuki originally wanted to tell and change the design of those cartoonish characters that clash with the rest. And, why not, add throwing movements.
Adam, to finish my sealed Shenmue collection (Japanese), only need Shenmue 2 (Xbox, US version), Shenmue 3 (PS4) and What’s Shenmue. I have all Japanese limited editions (including US Shenmue) and the Limited Run Shenmue 3 complete edition (ugh).
shenmue 3 needed 4 years of development, even if they start with shenmue 4 next year it will probably come out in 2029, at this rate i will die of old age to see shenmue 5 and 6 if they are planned
What do you think about them finishing the 1&2 remix that they cancelled a few years back! To my understanding they were very far along and I think you could switch between old and new graphics.
As long as Shenmue 3 comes to Xbox I don't mind if it is a digital edition. I've played on PC anyway but I would like the game coming to Xbox since it is the platform where I've played shemue for the first time (I've found Shenmue late, in 2019 (I knew it by name from before but never played it until 2019), finished both on Xbox One and loved it.) Than proceeded to play Shenmue 3 on PC.
While I agree its "not ultimately a revenge story" the blurb on the back of the box literally says it is a story "ultimately of revenge." so I can see why some thought that.
When I heard Shenmue 3 didn't finish the story. I didn't bother. Shenmue #1 and 2 (XBOX) was the single most I had ever been emotionally invested in a story on any medium. I did not wait 20 years for a Shenmue 3 just so it could end on another cliffhanger --- and YES I know, I know, it was always inteded to go on for like 12 chapters or something... but 2 decades sat between "We'd like to do this whole grand story" and "Omg we finally have a chance to make a 3rd one and wrap this up". Without ANY assurance that they could ever make a #4, they just rushed forward like the past 20 years never happened... and here we are.... I'm hoping this video gives me some hope, but I doubt it.
i also voted xbox, as well as redoing the character models to more closely resemble their original look. also, change the npcs to look realistic like they did in si & ii, instead of cartoony like they do in iii
When asked if they had acquired rights to existing Shenmue games, ININs response was "Rights to the FRANCHISE in general - more news soon!" They clearly don't just hold the publishing rights to Shenmue 3.
@@thetejog161 Oh I believe they said that, but that doesn't mean they own it. They essentially have permission to use it. Probably the same license Yu Suzuki had in the first place. Because Sega selling the IP outright would be a whole separate news cycle. I can give you the right to drive my car without giving you ownership of it.

It was OK
Ooh this makes me curious about all the stories in detail!
This is great news! Trying to connect Inin with some of the voice actors and people who have assets of the game is awesome. Possibly a folk hero of getting the bedt possible Shenmue III to exist
Always wanted Ryo in Virtua Fighter.
Tbh I'd vote you to represent (whatever category of Shenmue fan I would be) if there was such a thing for Shenmue 4
I do think Shenmue 3 should have a smaller passionate team go through and fix the issues you mentioned (Temp voice lines replaced with finalized) and have issues within the game technical or grind related, ironed out, and if the reception of the game is "Hey, we would play this again because it's a smoother experience I can enjoy and want to support for continuation" and possibly have some support and minor DLC to compliment the game.
I appreciate that more than you know.
Never played Shenmue but I like watching beard man hyped
BRAZIL!
@AdamKoralik I NEVER MET ANYONE GROWING UP WHO OWNED A DREAMCAST HERE 🇧🇷😭🗣️🔥❤️🩹😭🇧🇷
Shenmue 4: the ultimate fanboy fantasy.
When you release a game like Shenmue 3, good luck getting another one made.
Thanks champ.
@ Hey, I like franchises that are doomed too. We all have one.
Fun fact about my history watching Adam's channel, the first video I ever saw was a Dreamcast video and the second was a Shenmue one...over 14 years ago! I love that after all of these years you are still going strong and still being passionate of these topics
Also on a sidenote about Deep Silver, it is crazy how how VERY different the franchises are I can see some parallels between Shenmue and Saints Row as in the latter community it is widely known that insane development hell for Volition and strange (and questionable) decisions made by Deep Silver ultimetely led to Saints Row 2022 to be a critical failure (not sure about commercial but apparently it did decent but not enough) and Deep Silver did some crucial changes as was indirectly stated by RUclipsrs and fans who actually play tested the original game and saw part of the development but after the game came out all of them said the same thing that "the game released wasn't the same as the one we tested and saw" and in the end it came down to Deep Silver asking for changes
Now Shenmue III wasn't a failure by any means, it did well overall for a dormant franchise and it had mixed opinions by fans mostly compared to Saints Row 2022 that did ok in sales, mixed in critics and it was poorly received by fans
Some damn good info,
thanks Adam!
No idea how much content or what content it was.
Interesting to hear about Deep Silver's negative impact on 3, I hadn't heard too much about that, but as a fan I feel quite optimistic about the new ININ deal
Man it's been 5 years since it came out? Still remember watching your videos talking about it as a dream
Your guess is as good as mine.
So ty for this video it's always a pleasure to see someone who cares so much about the things they are talking about ❤
Thanks bruh.
"Why aren't hopefully that a Shenmue 4 will happen"
Sorry...what?
@ you’ve stated multiple times in other videos that you don’t think Shenmue 4 will most likely happen why do you think that?
I did my part in trying to get ININ seeing this video. Hope it works out.
Hi Adam long time no watch 🤣 , greetings from Emirates where gaming is well weird , hopefully one day we can grab that coffee i promised you in Ireland
That'd be nice.
I would really like to see the location Baisha for Shenmue 3 and I hope that this will be realized and that we will see the true ending of Shenmue 3. Do you think the implementation of Baisha is realistic?
And Multiplattform Xbox Nintendo PlayStation pc
Thanks for the new Shenmue info Adam.
Jaw drops to hear deep silver was the reasonings why the story was cut short
That's actually infuriating. All those years and they half assed it?!
I would like to see if they can incorporate the cut content into a "3.5" or defintive edition INCLUDING Baisha.
*Shenmue* *III*
I only started to play Shenmue III earlier this year when I got a Steam Deck (LCD 512 GB) for $250 from OfferUp.
Thanks Adam for this good Important video ❤
The part about "fans are so under-informed" is soooooo accurate.
My hopes for the future of Shenmue:
1. Sega gives back the rights to Suzuki for the Virtua Fighter Engine
2. With the rumors of a Virtua Fighter reboot and VF5 recently coming to PC (I hope to see Shenmue characters like RYO in the VF franchise)
3. The story of Shenmue 4 and Suzuki gets feedback/advice or work with hardcore fans like you Adam so we won't get another "filler episode" and see the plot move forward
4. More Shenmue Anime
5. Other studios try making a Shenmue 0 (prequel)
6. If all else fails and Suzuki releases the Shenmue novel completed, I'll be satisfied to see fans use the final script and make their own A.I. created fan games (if the tech allows for that)
I really want to see the end of this story. Three really didn’t progress the story in my opinion.
Definitely needs a UI overhaul. And to update the models and animations. And the MOST important thing is for the sega branding and characters and games to come back to the arcade and gachas.
GREAT VIDEO THANK YOU 👍🏽 👌🏽
Great Video Adam!
I literally know nothing about Shenmue. For all I know it is about a killer whale. But your excitement is comforting in these dark times.
Would definitely suggest picking up the remaster of 1+2
@@itsmatt517Is that on Switch?
@@martinaee PlayStation and Xbox
It would definitely be nice to see a rerelease with a option to turn the food system off so I can have unlimited run 😅 plus og voice ren would be sweet.
I played the heck out of Shenmue and Shenmue II back in the day on the Dreamcast, and dreamed of Shenmue III for years like everybody else.
Bought it on steam when it came out and haven't played it yet :/
Whatever ININ plans to do with Shenmue 3, i just hope that its successful enough for Shenmue 4 to happen.
So, what are the implications ?
...Of?
@@AdamKoralik of ININ having the publishing rights ?
Why not like...watch the video?
@@AdamKoralik okay, sure.
Already bought Shenmue 3 three times and yep I’m ready to buy it again for PS5/Xbox/Nintendo. Ideally for Nintendo, SEGA would port 1&2 first 🤞
Sad to hear these little revelations about Deep Silver and how they had a saying on how the game was released. At this point, as a Shenmue 3 fan, I would love to know more details about what was done by them and how better the final game would have been without them as publisher. I have little hope for Shenmue 4 and now knowing that the last Shenmue we got was ruined by its publisher hurts.
Just a heads up the name of deep silver ceo is Terry
I mean....cool?
Yeah but he is currently busy running some shady Karate dojo's in Reseda
@@Timewarp84 I was thinking more Terry Bogard (Fatal Fury) but touché!
@@pdraggy nah he sold al his stocks and went on a wel deserved caribbean cruise with Long John
@@Timewarp84 aah I get you now your just playing off the color of his hair lol I see what you did there!
Interested to see where this goes, but I am not a big fan of ININ‘s release policy. Stuff like locking complete versions of games behind a limited run release and releasing an incomplete version to retail (Wonderboy Collection, ININ and Strictly Limited Games are the same company), and releasing limited editions for unbelievably high prices after the original physical release (Rocky & Rocky Reshrined, Asha)
Still, Shenmue III (and possibly IV) could be in way worse hands.
Your guess is as good as mine there.
I feel a lot more hopeful after learning, 3 did make money and its problems were because of deep silver and now they’re gone.
It's just important that fans really support Ys Net games and content going forward, because Shenmue could be finished in its entirety one day.
Is Shenmu available on 360/PS3/Wii U/ Switch?
Nope.
@ 💔
I have all Japanese limited editions (including US Shenmue) and the Limited Run Shenmue 3 complete edition (ugh).
the story is not about revenge but way much bigger. that spoiled it for me, now i wanna see the ending
shenmue 3 needed 4 years of development, even if they start with shenmue 4 next year it will probably come out in 2029, at this rate i will die of old age to see shenmue 5 and 6 if they are planned
What do you think about them finishing the 1&2 remix that they cancelled a few years back! To my understanding they were very far along and I think you could switch between old and new graphics.
Oy....I'm not going into that. All I'll tell you is that video did a lot of damage.
Yeah, let's call that a marketing decision.
I'm hoping this video gives me some hope, but I doubt it.
adam, what did you vote for in the inin survey?
also, what shenmue merch are you getting from limited run games' recent drop?
Xbox.
i'm getting the hoodie, poster, hat, and cat plushie
i also voted xbox, as well as redoing the character models to more closely resemble their original look. also, change the npcs to look realistic like they did in si & ii, instead of cartoony like they do in iii
When asked if they had acquired rights to existing Shenmue games, ININs response was "Rights to the FRANCHISE in general - more news soon!"
They clearly don't just hold the publishing rights to Shenmue 3.
I'd be shocked if Sega sold them the IP outright. That would be pretty significant news and nothing from them supports that.
Obviously I don't know the full details - but this comment was posted by their twitter/x profile on Nov 22nd.
@@AdamKoralikI've tagged you on the twitter post
@@thetejog161 Oh I believe they said that, but that doesn't mean they own it. They essentially have permission to use it. Probably the same license Yu Suzuki had in the first place. Because Sega selling the IP outright would be a whole separate news cycle.
I can give you the right to drive my car without giving you ownership of it.
@@AdamKoralikI get they don't "own" it, but they hold more than just the publishing rights to Shenmue 3.
