A man (Mike Norris) and a woman help a teenager (Ali Faulkner) after she runs away from her adoptive mother (Janine Turner).
Maggie (Ali Faulker) is an 18 year-old girl who leaves her adopted Christian home after her father's tragic death. Trying to fill a void in her life, Maggie feels the need to locate her birth mother. What she finds is not what she hoped for. Maggie finds a mother that does not love her or want her. Maggie gets caught up in this woman's world. After a few months enough becomes enough and when all hope is lost, one desperate night she reaches her breaking point. In a rage, she releases her frustrations by destroying the seedy hotel room that has been her home. At her feet falls a Bible, and it is then she realizes that there is only one thing that can break the bondage she is in and that is Jesus Christ our Savior. She realizes through God's Word that he has a better plan for her life. Finding the courage she runs away from the nightmare she has been living. With the faith of a mustard seed, Maggie has no place to go but living on the streets alone, broke and scared. Maggie meets just the right people, Max and Grace, who will make her passage a reality. Grace (Sheran Keyton Goodspeed) gives her shelter and wisdom, while Max (Mike Norris), broken himself, becomes a father figure. These two take Maggie under their wings and help her get to where she belongs, at home with her adopted mother (Janine Turner) who has been praying for her safe return.

Beautiful movie. Some of the story hit close to home for me. Lost my wife to a car accident, who was a devout christian. I and my 2 month old daughter were in the car, but we survived, but only through the grace of God, however my daughter, who is 31 years old now, was diagnosed with Autism at age 4. It's been a rough road, but the lord is always there to bring us through it. I hope he does the same for you who read this.

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful movie! Something very similar happened to me except it was my biological daughter. I know exactly how this mom feels. It's more the not knowing if they're ok or even if they're still alive that makes the days hard to face. I cried a lot from so many memories that this movie brought back. Our family story ended like this one. God is good :)

My story is too big. I can't write it all. I will say that this movie hit me where it hurts. I lost my husband in a car wreck. My oldest and only daughter cut me out of her life. The other kids minus one resent me. My original family has nothing to do with me. I have no friends, never have. These are going through my mind. Tears flowing. I'm trying not to let my Down Syndrome see me cry. Seeing or knowing I'm crying affects him . I'm thinking I'm all alone. I feel a touch on my arm. He's reaching to hold my hand. In that moment, God is letting me know I'm not alone. It's really felt like God in that moment. His eyes are full of all the love his has to give. We are not alone.

Getting the moral of the story took a long time,But I think it's like the case of the prodigal son returning home in this case daughter. I get that she also sought God in order to receive forgiveness and all,but if we had understood from the very beginning why she left home,the trouble she got into,etc it wouldve been a nice ending if the order of the movie showed how she escaped then returned back home. I think we saw climax before the whole narration of the movie,otherwise,not bad at all

Beautiful movie. Thank you. I was adopted with the best mom and dad ever but oh how i caused so much strive for them. Ran away at 16 and when I returned home my mother come running down the drive way to hug me. God saw me thru but my biggest regrets are the anguish i caused and now they're both gone.
