It's incredible how some members act as if it was their church or a former pastor's! The Church is the Lords' and nobody else's.
Exactly. The strength of the church is not the people...its the Holy Spirit.
This is why I have avoided society my entire life but I have chosen to love people regardless of what I know to be true about them. I have no right giving up on anyone even if they wrong me I have to forgive and if need be move on in life without them. Sometimes moving on is actually what sparks the seeds inside their heart to grow, especially if you were good to them because they will be like wow if they are that serious about God then maybe I need to find God myself! I have seen it happen and now I try to spread the love of Jesus to everyone because I have way more faith not in people but in the power of God's word!!

thanks for posting I agree with you on most churches but why do they have members 😕 🤔 is it a club some people attend and keep others out? I have to admit I have been to many churches during my time of distress and was hungry n homeless and I was denied help from most if not all of them 💔 😔 cause I was not a member other pasors just said they don't do that...really now, I don't attend anymore false churches but I know I have my Father's heart and He never denied me any thing...on the contrair

It was cringe worthy how the Pastor was treated. Regardless his sin, there was blatant sin and rebellion in that church. This movie shows the problem with most American churches the lack of Biblical guidance and biblical authority. Paul is clear how God wants his church governed and having boards and counsels aren't biblical, but men called and qualified by God are to by his grace shepherd the people.
Exactly! I was like "isn't he the pastor?" They were treating him as if he was just a regular church member. No respect. Even if there is a board, shouldn't they be under authority to the pastor?
@@coachestonswabyYes, the disrespect was awful and no one was submitting to his authority. In a biblical church there would have been church discipline for that woman as an example to not let sin reign in a church. The pastor in this movie should have had a plurality of elders keeping him accountable and not a board. The plurality of elders/ pastors help keep men humble, and accountable to the word and if there is a pastor who is going astray he has other men to step in his place and deal with him accordingly.

The humor is in some of the things we do "in the name of Jesus", when it is our own egos that are making the decisions. The fact that the choir believed they ran the church is the height of usurping the Authority Granted by Abba through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. The step-mother was opening herself up to the spirit of Jezebel. LOL
I am disappointed that the volume ia so low.

I loved the movie. I was however hoping he could change the choir a little bit. I have been thinking about this for awhile now. And having a little modern day rock christian, rap christian, etc christian would be a great addition to the church. It's all about the words of God and makes a world of difference to include everybody's style. If it attracts the young and old, I doubt God would protest. Time to be excepting of people of all walks of life as the church is meant to. I listened to one modern day christian rock song that sang how the hospital is beginning to look more like a church, too bad it is in sickness. I would like to go to the hospital only when sick and to visit the sick. When I go to church, I would like to hear of healing and happiness. During these past few years of covid, everywhere I went all I heard was vaccine, sickness, isolation, argument and more. So a few weeks ago I went to church to get away from this only to see the church is starting to look like a hospital! I hope I start to see this reversed because God knows I need to. Just once every now and again I would like to go to church and hear happy upbeat songs. I am 53 years old and if I would like to see this, I can only imagine how the younger generation would too. In fact it might encourage more younger people to go. When his son was busting out a beat in the car next to his dad, I was grinning and moving to the beat thinking, the church needs to consider the possibility of young people showing their style in church also. The elders expect to be respected in their style, now it's time for them to do likewise upon others, the younger generations. Saving this movie because it's one of my favorites and G rated!

True, if we love God we will obey His commandments, thankfully we aren't saved by loving God but rather because He first loved us and gave Himself for us.

The ministry of God is a calling from God its not supposed to be a competition what ever ministry God has called you to do its to edify the church and the people for his glory, people tend to lose sight of that.ive been to concerts churches would have and some were really good you felt the spirit of God and ive seen others where it was all about how good they could sing and the lights but hardly any of Jesus being spoken there one church i attended had a great food pantry and teen camps but I was not even spoken to there or even greeted friendly so whats the point of ministry if its not about Jesus or even having the spirit of God.everything should be done all for the glory of God not for ourselves or selfish ambition.

This movie is very misleading and christian should not act like this at all. First of all lying is wrong so disgusing yourself to impress a church member or manipulate them do things your way is wrong!!! GOD has a Bible verse about this in James 2:11For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. Lying is a sin and disgusing yourself to be someone else in order to Manipulate someone is a sin. Our hearts and mind should be on pleasing Jesus and his will not people. He should have respected Mary leaving and finding a whole new choir instead of bending to her rules. She put fear in him so acted out in that fear. Now GOD says you should not fear, Did he not? Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” So due to this we should trust GOD will all our hearts. But in this movie he didn't honor that and allowed his flesh to quickly lead him astray to do thing his way which is Satan. No one is perfect but Wake up people most movies Christians movies are mocking GOD. So we have to do better and discern these things before we come into agreement with false ways which are satan ways of doing things in the modern churches today.

I’m a filmmaker and I write scripts I can tell this whole movie was to make that point at 36:35. But I’m unsure exactly what the point was. If it supports replacement or not. I was disappointed in some of the language and horrified when I looked up the lyrics of the wobble song after I finished the movie. Colossians 3:8 is clear we should use no obscene or filthy language. Christian movies should portray the whole counsel of the Word. Not what one thinks will make it more acceptable to the world. Call me Disappointed.
This film does nothing with the Cyrano de Bergerac theme it continually references. It would have been far better if there was a role reversal, and the son, who plays Cyrano in the play, must now play the metaphorical Christian, and go in disguise as a new prospective pastor. Meanwhile, his father will play the metaphorical Cyrano, feeding his son the lines to win over the metaphorical Roxanne, which is the congregation. The reveal would be that the message they accepted from the prospective pastor was coming from their existing one. That they were willing to accept change when it was coming from a different messenger. This really needed a better screenwriter.

I was stunned at that song. This movie was not God honoring. I was extremely disappointed. I felt like I was watching a worldly movie.
It isn't "hugging yourself" either.
There was nothing about God in that movie, no lessons. That's why i love kendrick bt movies. This was a waste of time. And i say that in a good christian way.
