Yessss, this was a good movie. Ok things weren't good growing up, soon to be 63 years old. I received Christ in my life as a youngster. Now I can look back and I'm shown how He has been with me all there years. People need the Lord! And you will find His faithfulness.

This was my childhood, only worse. It wasn't until my 20s that I meet a man who truly showed me what a fathers love really looks like. He passed 9 yrs later. I'm now 50 and still carry the scars of trying to please my father but never being able to. I believe the Lord put it in my heart to write it down so that I could try to make some sense of it all. Im trying to write a book. Maybe I can give that little girl, who never had a childhood, a voice now....
Leona you just watched a movie that in detail teaches...US watching..what to do in times like he lived. I also had the same kinda life..as you said just worse..I was abused (smaking, tormented, rundown) I never felt as if I was good enough for anything and everything...But God was always there for me...☝🕇
You have to let past GO!!! writing about it isnt going to solve anything. The Bible teaches..that you must live for " THE NOW" and cast all your cares onto GOD. He promises to take care of it for you....

We were abused more verbally than physically. Daddy was Alcoholic. But all I can say is, after I loathed my Daddy..(and he loathed ME ALSO, because I'd become a drinker like him!)...but JESUS saved me! THEN HE allowed me to live holy for nearly 25 years before He said, Offer your father Salvation!
So Daddy received JESUS through me! He really watched me growing in grace, and he COULD have gone to church to get saved. But when I asked him if I could pray with him, he said YES! GLORY! He went Home almost 15 years later fully sanctified! HALLELUJAH! JESUS is SO WONDERFUL! 💓
🌟God said, If my people turn from their wicked ways humble themselves Repent and pray then they will hear from heaven and I will heal their Land, AMEN🌟

The horror of abuse in any form never goes away. My heart goes out to this young man, whether a fictional story or not. I just want to hold this young man and let him cry and cry and cry out all the pain and brokenness. He would be also doing it for me.
Abuse is so very devastating that most people--including Christians--have a hard time forgiving the abuser and giving God their pain, trusting Him to heal them.
I write from experience, being an abused person in my childhood. No, not being tape recorded by a machine, but by a person who never saw anything good in me, no matter what I did and remembered to always remind me of it.
That person is gone--and I am relieved, but the memories never go away. (Edited for spacing).
The son has been approached by the Discerner - through his childhood buddy's witness - to forgive his dad for all the damage done by his distorted Christian control over the family. Great Movie. Thank you & God Bless. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

A very unique movie. Thank you for sharing it with us. Life is hard, it’s not perfect by any means. This movie had some good nuggets in it, I’m glad I watched it. Forgiveness is so important. It doesn’t make what happened to us ok, we give it to God and make a conscious choice to hand it over.

I think I am understanding God a little better in my life. For years I read the Bible trying to replicate the behaviour of the characters. But I've always done so as if they were different from me. Today I have come to see I have to live my own life, in my own time applying the lessons to my heart rather than to my behaviour. Trust me there is a big difference to me. Every situation no matter how difficult, tempting or whatever is an opportunity to let God into the heart.
It’s really heartbreaking & amazing at how our own parents/family can impact our lives; if we let them. What’s in the past, we need to let it go & give it to our Lord, because we can’t & shouldn’t have to carry it all the days of our lives. Give your troubles to the Lord & leave them there! We all have a choice to make & with that choice comes circumstances. We have a Heaven to gain & a Hell to shun & there’s Nothing or No one in this world worth our soul!! 👏🙌 I choose Jesus & Heaven!! 🙌🕊

Only God the Holy Spirit can empower you to forgive when you are a child of God through Christ. That was what He did for me. I could forgive my hot-tempered father who yelled and insulted me when I didn't get that math equation or when I didn't cook the food well enough. God turned me from a bitter, angry person to a healed, loving daughter. Today, I love my earthly father, only by God's power. Through all my experiences, I get to know and experience the perfect love of my Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ. I pray for anyone who experienced abuse to seek and find True Love from God so that you can love and forgive your abusers.

This movie, opened doors in my heart, that I thought were ok! I too had a father, that wanted perfection, and could never let anything go! I have forgiven him, and followed Christ, but it isn't easy! Only by the grace of the living Jesus Christ, can I do it! He is still living, and still expects everything to be from his children, and not giving of himself! I still reach out once in a while, and hope for the best, to get a response back, but I just have to let it in Gods hands!
I took have had a dad that expected perfection from me and my older sister. It wasn’t until my last year of college that God showed me the wounds in my heart. My dad even admitted that he is a perfectionist and admitted that he tried to push that on me and my sister. He still sees nothing wrong with it. But God healed me and helped me to forgive. 🙌🏾

Sometimes you have to forgive and walk away from the people that are causing you so much pain and hurt. I couldn't be the person God wanted me to be as long as I was in certain peoples lives. I was taught at an early age you're supposed to honor your mother and father. I thought well... that's not a problem. I love my parent's. My father died when I was only 10 years old. In away I lost my mom too. She was raised by good Christian parents, but she was nothing like them. All she cared about was men and partying. About 6 years got she got sick and I was taking care of her, but the biggest problem was that my sister wouldn't grow up and move away. She has 3 son's. They are also grown men now and they also live with my mom. Then my mom started letting their girlfriend's move in. They all are on drugs. My sister has always been lazy. She always fighting and fussing with someone. She's never had any responsibilities. They steal from my mom ever month. It made it very hard to go over to my mom's and take care of her. I had to worry about them stealing from me, messing with my car, and if I went to buy things for my mom I couldn't even get the things I bought out of the car fast enough without them stealing the things I bought for my mom. Then my mom's family would call me complaining about how my mom was living her life. I've heard it all my life. 🙄 Every time they called I was having to explain myself. I told them...it's not my fault. After hearing this for two years I finally told them all.... if you have a problem with them you need to go over there at my mom's and tell all of them how you feel. It's not me and my family causing all these problems. It's my sister and her son's causing all of these problems. Plus my mom takes up for them and lies for all of them. I also told them look..... you have to understand my mom chooses to live this way and there's nothing none of us can do. Believe me.... I've tried to put a stop to it. Finally, I realized that I needed to pray for them and put it in God's hands. Oh also, I told my mom she could come and live with me, but I was not putting up with my sister and her son's coming to my house causing all these problems at my house. That's why she won't come live with me. It ended up causing me to have a heart attack this past March. It was causing too much stress. I just got out of the hospital and my sister called my mom's family. Then my aunt's called me. I told them I just got out of the hospital and my sister was going to have to deal with it by herself this time. I still ended up going and picking my mom up from the hospital two days later. She was being a smart elic to me the minute I got to the hospital to pick her up. Then I had to go grocery shopping for her. She said we are out of everything. Key word ( We ). Like my sister and her grown son's can't go to the store?!! I was so mad at my mom. My mom ended up losing her other leg a few weeks later. I told her if she lost her other leg there was no way I could take care of her at her house anymore. I can't pick up a 200 pound woman. I couldn't put up with my sister and her son's anymore. She would have to go into a nursing home. She said no she wasn't going into a nursing home. I said mom.... if you go home I can't take care of you. I finally had to make a decision. I just walk away and I told her either my sister and her son's will help you or you will have to go into a nursing home. I hated that for her too, but this has to stop. I knew if I didn't stop I was going to have another heart attack and it would kill me or I would ebd up having a nervous breakdown. I still pray for my mom everyday. Sorry this was too long. There's way more to this story, but I'll stop. God forgive me. 🙏
Yes, there’s a time when you have to give them to Jesus, & walk away. Nobody could or should fault you for that! Take care of yourself now & I pray Jesus gives you peace & wraps His arms of love around you. It’s amazing how our own family can be our worst enemies!! 😢💓👏 Love & Prayers, Sister Pat 💓👏

Many things I could say but I won't but I will mention this. I find it interesting. That in the scene where they're talking about his dad and heaven. Hell whether or not he was a real Christian. The way the 2 held the dialogue and the way the music played. Made me think a lot like the short film that the screw brawl support out which is late one night. And so I find it very interesting. I don't know if they realize the similarities, but it's well done too.

Its a great movie no doubt, but it is a bit short sighted. You should have started from when the father was small, and to address the causes of what made him that way. Run the risk of liberating hurting kids to the point of dishonoring their fathers, even if the father has the wrong attitude.
So what you want to do instead is talk about how these issues can be passed down from fathers to children, and not allowing the father son emotional wrestling match drown out the fact that the fathers too had unkind upbringings.
But I see your point, I have learned from it.
True, but that could made that a really long movie because that could have a family curse that went on from generation to generation, and so on, but the only problem I had was that his friend judging his dad, however he could've been right because as it shows, he really didn't have love for his family.

Only God knows where we go. He’s the only one who understands the condition of are heart. If we assume then we are placing judgement. At that point We then are saying We are capable of being God. Remember Jesus died for our sins. Definition of Christians is not a perfect person. We will fall sometimes one two or three times. You could even be like me and have lost count (Too many falls to count). Its what we do with that fall that defines us to God. He’s the only One that truly knows us and listens. God is love, he is patient and kind. This world is getting ready to see what it is like without God in it. That hurts my heart because I don’t wish that on anyone. But the devil dose because he has already been sentenced. The devils final act is to take as many ppl with him as possible. Because he is and was Jealous of the relationship he had with Adam and Eve. I know God Knew this ahead of time. It is my belief that God put the tree in the Garden not to temp Adam and Eve but to tempt Lucifer. However God gave free will to Adam and Eve to choose what they wanted. I think this is a good lesson in what happens when you give something everything and they disobeyed God. (On both parts, Angles and ppl). Please don’t take his mark. I say that because I feel it’s getting to the point where it’s too late to ask you to get saved. If we have a mass COVID Die off or Aliens attack those are lies the devil tells. Global warming. That is God taking the devils resources away. No. There is no continually burning hell. Hell is a certain time and a certain place. Those who cling to sin will be destroyed and will receive Eternal death. Those who accept Christ as their Savior and live for him will receive Eternal life. There's no such thing as those who cling to sin receiving eternal life in hell. There is no eternal life at all for people that reject Christ as their savior. Death. They perish.

Listening to those tapes of his early childhood should have shown him that his dad was WAY OVERBOARD on his CONTROLLING! The child was disciplined for nothing. I should say punished. Like when he was punished for jumping on the bed.
I'm sure all of us have things in our past where we perceive things to have been one way when in reality they were probably not that way at all. This movie portrays it as though the kid was in the wrong all the time. No, it was his dad that was being ridiculous.

Jesus is Lord God Almighty clothed in unsinful humanity and He is the author of eternal life to all who trust Him alone for salvation.
That means that saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.

This movie implies that the dead are either in heaven or hell...... the Bible doesn't teach that, the Bible teaches that......The dead are asleep in their graves they are neither in Hell or heaven Christs states that death is like sleep Luke 8:52. Ecclesiastes 5:11 states that the living know that they shall die but the dead know nothing, neither do they have any more reward for the memory of them is forgotten.
If the dead were in heaven or hell when they die they would be no reason for Christ to return to earth and the Bible states that He will return 1 Thes. 4:16 states; For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the archangels and the trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Truth shouldn't be missed with error it makes everything wrong. Study to show Thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth 2 Tim 2:15.
There is a heaven and hell. That’s the whole point why Christ died on the cross was to save us from hell. He paid a price on the cross due to ours sins. After He died on the cross He got the keys of Hell. Meaning hell has no power anymore. Death(hell) doesn’t have us as Christians. But He gave us a choice to either accept Him and join Him in heaven. Or deny Him and end up in hell. The only way to escape Hell is to repent of our sins and have faith in Jesus while on earth to ensure our enteral life in heaven.

As stated the movie has implied that those who are dead are transported to heaven or hell. If that was the case there would be no need fur Christ's return. I'm fully aware of the Bible's teachings in Revelation. Those who aren't aware will be deceived by that movie. Ps.Reading the Bible is not the same as studying and understanding. @@sherriej4096 in my pass message I stated that I read and studied the Bible from cover to cover. Some ppl jump to revelation not realizing it’s like reading a book. When you buy a novel do you jump to the last chapter? No! You will end up confused and have limited knowledge. That’s why I’m a strong believer in reading and understanding what you have read in order to grasp revelation. It took me about alittle over a year to finish studying the Bible fully. At that I still can go over a passage and get another revelation on it. Sooo many layers. Unlike any other book I’ve ever read. God’s word is a love letter. A treasure. For anyone who hasn’t read the Bible entirely and who wants to…. You will go on an adventure in your life. Get ready!
