One big tip I've learned, let it go extra low for the first part of a cook. Like 200 degrees or less. That really helps build up that smoke flavor some feel is lacking with pellet smokers. Moisture in the form of water pans and spritz bottles works well for that too. My 2 cents.
there is a big discussion about that in reddit right now and I most say people are kind of 50/50 in the argument, while it makes sense it is something I will be trying soon! 😀😀 Keep tuned!
I have never seen anyone explain about the work behind meat smoking! This is the video that everyone needs to see. Thank you for sharing the information & explains things in an easy to understand, way! 👍🏾👍🏾😋😋
As usual you hit the nail on the head. I love my pellet grill. I actually bought it because of another pellet grill video you made. Thanks for always breaking things down and keeping it fun
I always love your videos, Ninja. After having owned several pellet smokers, is Z Grills the one you prefer? I've been grilling and smoking on a Weber kettle for several years and am looking for a pellet smoker.
Zgrills are very good, well priced and great in general. They are modeled after the traeger grills which are the leaders in the industry. I definitely recommend it!
❤️the right video at the right time Was just thinking of buying a new grill and was thinking of switching to pellet or offset smoker if you can compare or suggest brands ( affordable 😅) would be great
It all depends on what you want... Offset smokers are super expensive right now with the materials situation and the pellet grills are awesome but you want wifi in it? or bigger hopper? or maybe a different size? price wise I will go with the z-grill, it is just like a traeger but cheaper, works great, cook awesome and you wont have to sell a leg you buy it! Many options out there and all of them very good.
I do like it a lot but the experience I had with it was mostly bad. My friend Emil purchased one the first time it came to the market and it was a mess. I know they got way better since but I haven't tried any other one but that one and as I said the experience was bad. I'll keep you posted if I get my hands on a more recent version of it.
I agree that pellet grills don't give the Super-Smoky flavors so I usually use of of those metal box thingies with better smoking wood chunks (just set it on the grill in the back corner opposite the chimney) for the first couple of hours. Seems to amp-up the flavor. Now - can you please throw a bison brisket on that Z-Grill?! 😁😁😁
Brother, at some point you should make a video in how to deep clean and maintain the smoker. Like, what you use, how you do it…not just the sawdust. By the way, my Recteq’s temp is extremely steady…at worse, it’ll fluctuate 10-20 degrees either side. The controller is very good.
LOL I'm not sure but the question should be... which one is the copy... LOL Man all these grills are one in the same factory with the same parts... 😂😂 Not surprising if you ask me.Nothing wrong with it.. but you know.
1. Have money to buy one 2. Have the ability to start one and read how to take care of a pellet grill instructions 3. Have some type of thermometer to measure the exact cooking temperatures 4. Be smart enough to know which flavor of wood you like with your food. 5. Be able to tell time 6. Be able to afford meat 7. The ability to improve on your cooking if you don't do so well.
Pellet grills always have the issues with lack of smoke. No smoke ring. Less flavor than wood. I will keep using my wood smoker over a pellet grill. If you are going to use a pellet grill, add a smoke chamber to get some wood smoke into the cook. EDIT: C'mon, Ninja. You know this.
I was trying to give 7 tips and ended up with 9 and in my list I had about 20! 😀 had to stop somewhere! But if you guys liked this video there is a lot mire tips I can give about pellet grills!
One thing I learned… NEVER put tour steak on a pellet grill until the unit is at steady state, with clean blue smoke. The initial white smoke will DESTROY your steak, every single time.
That is sure a great recommendation! And the white/blue smoke argument is very valid too but as explained in this video you also need a bit of that white smoke to bring up the flavors… it’s like a nice balance great pitmasters get to make with stick burners and there is nothing better! 😀
Nice my friend thanks for the tips . Good to see you with Captain Ron today.
That was a fun video! That brisket was JUICY!
This video is mandatory! Good Stuff Ninja!
Thank you so much my brother! 😀😀

Thanks brother! 😀😀
Perfect timing! I just got a 40lb bag of pellets on sale and could use some tips on using them!
That’s awesome! Question… what grill you have and how many cooks will you get out of a 40lbs?
🙋 Hey bro' Ninja 👋😎🇮🇹
Love all the tips, specially for the cleaning 💘 My PitBoss Tailgater greets you happy 😂🍻
Thanks brother! Those tips will work fir it too! 👊👊😀😀
Great video
Thank you my brother! Glad I can help!
This is awesome Ninja, thanks for the info. Just got Treager from FB Market Place. Cooked on it 4 times now. I'll def use this for my next cooks.
Awesome man! Those tips will work great with the traeger too!
P.I.D. tuning should be done for your environment and should be able to be done to anything w/ a P.I.D. controller.
It does, that's why I said it is the best we have right now but still its not perfect. 😀 thanks for sharing thoughts!
Love it Brother! I love my pellet grill. I love cooking over real fire, but the pellet grill has its place too!
NINJA APPROVED !!!
Hell yeah brother! I hope I said something there you didn't know! 😀😀😀
@@SaltyTales I always learn from your videos! I didn't know about the ceramic grates and steel brush.
Fantastic tips n.Ninja
Nice Info Bro
Thank you brother! 👊👊😀

Z-grill is almost as expensive as traeger here in Toronto 😅 so I might as well go all the way
In that case go for it! 👊😀 can’t go wrong With traegers
Thoughts on Weber smokefire? It has a ekstrasmoke setting as well.

Yes, that's a normal temp fluctuation for most pellet grills out there and as I said there is nothing wrong with it.! 😀
@@SaltyTales love it! I do like the Z Grill. If my Recteq goes bust, I’m going Z-Grill for sure.
Your the best @saltytales
oh man! thank you so much!
Notification squad packing my bag 🎒
LOL Man where are you going??? 😂😂😂

Agree with lower smoke quality than an offset but you can still get a nice smoke ring, no issues with that. Try starting with a cooler piece of meat.
