I wouldn’t even change anything on the instruments including the strings on the guitar. Those were things that Dime and Vinnie touched. It’s still has their essence on them and is radiating with their vulgar display of power! Awesome stuff!
Dime & Vin were great guys. I got to meet them way back in 1994. Pantera was doing a Tower Records signing for Far Beyond Driven. Lots of stuff signed. Legends.
That is incredible! I would have been 9 at the time and oblivious to their existence. It's cool to think that there are kids today who will discover them with the new reunion tour. Man....Pantera at Tower Records in '94. Must have been wild dude

@@EssexRecordingStudios ya, I'm a big hockey fan and just couldn't put Dallas Stars stuff up in my house Definitely a awesome auction almost to much stuff
What would be incredible is to acquire or find some of his drum kits. From the Cowboys from Hell days- the bass drums had the Tama logo on them, but they were not Tama- they had custom lugs on the drums from a Texas drum shop. Then the Remo one as well with the original Tama Titan hardware. Great video!
You'd think vinny would have fitted die cast hoops with his signature 8x14, and used a thicker shell? and maybe use a controlled sound dot,or hi-energy aquarian for more crack and snap, either way they are awesome examples of his lifestyle/tastes and rock/roll attitude, i admit jealousy begins to start to boil over after every other drum is revealed,I also love the single bass pedal w/double chain and spitzer point heel plate crafted i imagine out of aircraft quality aluminum-I just realized the drum world has 2xVINNIES....Vinnie P. and Vinnie C.both loved and respected.
So sad the Abbott are both gone, they were the Ed & Alex of metal , and how 2 sets of brothers could be so important to rock music and music in general, just so sad all these greats passing on .
Well trust me my friend I could never top your collection but I did know a guy from California and he was a roadie at one time and I have an autographed well actually 2 pair of drumsticks from Vinnie and one pair is from the pantera days and one from damageplan I googled both sticks and the autographs and I can't say for sure there authentic but the autographs matched up and you can tell they definitely been used also I saw damageplan April 15 in Jackson Mississippi and dimebag I was rite in front of him and he leaned over and put one of his signature damageplan picks in my hand and that is my most valuable possession
I got the first release VP1480 Vinnie Paul Sig Series Pearl wrapped in diamond back rattle snake skin the first one unboxed. That snare is a monster! Cuts right through live and recording! Out of the 68 snares I have his is in my top 5 favorite. I used it on my bands album God's Fallen - BLACKHEART.
Wow 68 snares! That's quite a collection! I've noticed traditional rockers don't like larger snares in the studio. Our last engineer liked Black Beauty or Chad Smith signature but was not about Vinnie's or Lar's signature snares
@@EssexRecordingStudios OH I go for the big guy's cranked all the way. With a fat boy on the bottom. I'm more of a progressive/technical Death metal drummer so big monster kits 9 pieces with lots of cymbals and other stuff like Octobans. And Pearl Drums.

The second Pearl snakeskin prototype is such a better looking drum. I’m a little disappointed that they went with what they did to the masses with those monsters!

That wasn't rattlesnake pattern, that razorback wasn't a stealth, for a superfan, you've missed the plot. Bonus points for glistening like a gladiator, and addressing it.
Did you see the headstock in the guitar? Literally a Razorback Stealth. It was on the back wall of the stage, I was the lighting guy on this video that was shot there and you can see it in the background on some shots ruclips.net/video/N8wpzf0cDcI/видео.html Thats why its a stripper with a golf club...
His estate (the people who inherited Vinnie's stuff) commissioned a Texas based auction house to sell these items. His friend and his girlfriend got the bulk of the estate.
I agree with other people that it's cool you'll let the public touch them/see them. I revolted when at first it was just another company buying things of someone famous to store away and make a buck on in the future. Since that's cleared up, which actually changed into a positive to this ordeal; I just gotta ask cause it killed me this whole vid. WHY PROP THE CAMERA UP ON THE SIGNED DRUM??? 😭😭😭 Actually gave me a panic attack the whole video
Haha that cam was placed very gently there. Yeah man, anyone can come play these, just like the Dave Mustaine guitars and the Megadeth drum kit we have from the Endgame album and Bug 4 Sonisphere tour...all of which have already been used to record on metal albums. It's no secret that selling gear helps keep the lights on here at the studio, but at the same time that gear is made available for artists to play and inspire them
@@EssexRecordingStudios OR, I can give you a hint (from a box opener on Ebay FOR MANY YEARS). Just use a knife (or other sharp bladed instrument) an use your fingers to just use 1/8 of an inch of the blade to cut the tape on the box! You’ll NEVER go wrong with that bit of advice!
NOT tryin’ to be a JERK or anything. Just tryin’ to be helpful because I would HATE to see one if MY favorite drummer’s beloved snares damaged. That’s all…
Ah......You were the one that I was going back and forth with 3 or 4 of the snares and a few other items on auction day. Look man.... I'm sure you have a ton of money and love picking this stuff up. And I'm sure it's a write off for you.... But seriously for us poor people, Maybe leave some auction items for the rest of the world to enjoy. I'm sure you could have gotten by with one or 2 drums. But to grab everything while others from around the world who also loved Vinnie and (personally I idolized him) couldn't even get a small item Seems strange man. Am I bothered that I bid on atleast 5 items , watched and bid for about 8 hour's ( 5 of which happened after the auction was technically over) ...yep, You bet. He was my childhood idol as well as into my teens. I spent all my money in the 90s to get a set and play like him. I was stoked about this auction and was willing to give up a lot. I know how much you spent because I was the only other guy bidding against you on 3 or 4 of the snares and they weren't cheap. I was actually kind of hoping more people would get his items rather than one person. But hey that's just me coming from the other side of things. Good video..... Just wished other people would have gotten some of his legacy also. I'm sure the clicks will be money well spent.
Thanks for appreciating the video, and I totally understand how it feels to tap out in an auction and not get items you really want. I really wanted the Nirvana Neumann studio mic that was on Reverb as an auction a few years ago and was bidding back and forth with one guy and had to tap out. I was just going into the air force and had spent my money on getting a car when Dave Mustaine's Jacksons went up for sale on ebay back in like 2003. An engineer that worked at my studio took off with all of the snare drums here, so I needed to buy a bunch of snares to have a variety on hand for the artists that record here. This auction was the golden opportunity. Loads of fans bought stuff in this auction. Someone else got his Pantera toured drum kit. He had loads of guitars that went to other people. Someone else got his double kick pedal and his drum sticks and cymbals. There was a variety of fans who got drum stuff from this sale. I just committed (painfully to my finances) to the snares. Definitely not a write off for me. I learned a long time ago not to make assumptions about people's finances. I don't own a home for instance. I rent and it sucks. This studio and the gear is my home instead, and I make it available to anyone and everyone. Not everyone gets it, and that's totally fine. It's a long sad life if you spend it worrying about trying to make everyone on the Internet happy.
@@EssexRecordingStudios definately well put and a great response. Once again... Genuinely just butt hurt for the moment . Nothing more. As you explained already, the artists get to use them and that's better than a rich horder lol. And more importantly enjoy the lot! My jealousy stops here. ;)
@@adamdrummer6285 don't worry, now you can have a shot at some stuff.. It sure is cool,.....much like the Mustaine auction,.....how you allow NOBODY else a chance to own a piece of metal history by buying EVERYTHING. Truly awesome. 😐
It's a shame that this stuff wasn't bought by an American or an American based company and stayed in the USA and put on display.it sickens me that all this stuff went overseas.
Bro I'm literally an American. Amazing!!! I’m so happy that Vince’s stuff is out there to be used an recorded with..Keep up the great work and Videos..I loved it
Thanks so much Nathan 🤘🤘
I wouldn’t even change anything on the instruments including the strings on the guitar. Those were things that Dime and Vinnie touched. It’s still has their essence on them and is radiating with their vulgar display of power! Awesome stuff!
Thanks man. Oh I'd keep the strings in the case for sure 🤘
@@EssexRecordingStudios Hell yeah man, it was a great experience. I was really young at the time, maybe about 14. Btw, those snares are awesome. The Dime guitar video was good too, never saw that variant before.
Met him here in England myself, also I may have to pop down to record on his snare that'll be cool. RIP Dime & Vinnie.
Wow that's great and of course that's why we have them here 🤘
I bought the wayne gretzky autographed jersey that he had up at his house
Oh way cool man!
@@EssexRecordingStudios ya, I'm a big hockey fan and just couldn't put Dallas Stars stuff up in my house
Definitely a awesome auction almost to much stuff
Incredible!
🤘🤘🤘
What would be incredible is to acquire or find some of his drum kits. From the Cowboys from Hell days- the bass drums had the Tama logo on them, but they were not Tama- they had custom lugs on the drums from a Texas drum shop. Then the Remo one as well with the original Tama Titan hardware. Great video!
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it 🤘
You'd think vinny would have fitted die cast hoops with his signature 8x14, and used a thicker shell? and maybe use a controlled sound dot,or hi-energy aquarian for more crack and snap, either way they are awesome examples of his lifestyle/tastes and rock/roll attitude, i admit jealousy begins to start to boil over after every other drum is revealed,I also love the single bass pedal w/double chain and spitzer point heel plate crafted i imagine out of aircraft quality aluminum-I just realized the drum world has 2xVINNIES....Vinnie P. and Vinnie C.both loved and respected.
The Money Green snare!
Love vinnie
I always like Vinnie Paul of Pantera and hell yeah and dimebag Darrell
Amazing hopefully there takin well care of I'm sure they well be
They will be! They're very safe and secure here at the studio
@@EssexRecordingStudios great
So sad the Abbott are both gone, they were the Ed & Alex of metal , and how 2 sets of brothers could be so important to rock music and music in general, just so sad all these greats passing on .
What a great collection. Hope you make a cool display for them. 🤘😀
Thanks Roy! The boots are already in our studio hallway on top of a custom Zilla cab with a tooled leather Country Western tolex pattern 🤘
Cool , Vinnie be happy you taking good care of his prized possessions
Totally awesome 🤘🤘
Cheers dude! How's it going over there? 🤘
@@EssexRecordingStudios cool man, being doing gigs with my band step in Blood Cranking it up to the roof!!
That's awesome man :)
I use to use my Pearl piccolo also the same one Vinnie Paul had in his collection when I was younger but as I got older I wanted a deeper but still punch in your face sound. I'm more of a progressive/technical Death metal drummer so big monster kits 9 pieces with lots of cymbals and other stuff like Octobans. And Pearl Drums.
@@SOMNIPHOBIA666 Sounds epic dude!
damn....I wanted Vinnie Paul's ddrum pedals from that auction....wow
I wanted to get the one that was his actual signature pedal that he owned and played, and you bet we're gonna let any drummer use it when they record 🤘
@@EssexRecordingStudios NICE! I have and play his ddrum stainless signature snare....and I love it! those pedals look sweet! I actually bid on it but was quickly outbid...ha.....there was some amazing things in that auction.....I still wonder if anyone got the full Vinnie Paul HELLYEAH kit....started out at 25k, was way out of my league.....glad you got all that stuff and going to let people use it......and that DIME guitar is priceless! WOW.....
The second Pearl snakeskin prototype is such a better looking drum. I’m a little disappointed that they went with what they did to the masses with those monsters!
I think I agree with you dude!
I bought the pearl snake skin snare for me drum tracks for my albums studio recording amd also the Sabian hand hammered power bell ride.. the snare wasn't anything special or I didn't keep it that long to get the right head for it but the power bell is awesome. ..
Very cool man!
Thats fukn amazing bro. So jealous, thanks for sharing. Rip big Vin and dime333!!!
Thanks for watching! Stay subscribed because I've got some epic stuff coming!
You've got the boots that I bid on 😞 Congrats.🤘 I'm a huge Pantera fan too, so I guess it's nice to see you, another huge fan, holding on these great items.
I'm here in Houston, TX and I'll actually be visiting London at the end of Sept. I'd love to stop by and see this stuff and share some Pantera memories with you. Rock on brother.
Hey Jeff that would be epic and of course you're invited! What's bringing you out to the big smoke? We're 45 minutes away from central London by train so a nice quick trip. I missed out on another pair of boots and one of his hats...bidding was fierce across the board. I love Houston and took a special trip out there to see the largest online car dealership in the world that's based there. I also bought a '91 Rolls Silver Spur there once and had a Texas girl I was chatting to online meet me there to pick it up...was a killer first date 😉 Drove the car back to Florida, put it on ebay and a Mexican guy in Houston in the oil industry bought it for his little brother as a present...so it went straight back to Houston 😂 my cell is on the studio website so just hit me up when you're over here dude 🤘
@@EssexRecordingStudios Awesome!! Yeah I'd like to see that stuff. And yes, everytime I bid on something the price kept getting higher. I'd like to know who got the complete kits?? I've got a few things of theirs that I collected or got autographed over the years. They were such a huge influence in my life. I'm a drummer as well and have the same VP black snare that you have with all the sigs. I still use it to this day. But I mainly play for fun now since my dream of becoming a rockstar has diminished. 😞lol...
But yeah, the reason I'm going is for the NFL Vikings/ Saints game. Grew up a Vikings fan because of my mom's side of the family. My gramps is a ticket holder with them since '61, so him and I decided to make that trip and cross it off our bucket list. So I'm looking forward to it.
I'll get back with you as the time nears. Keep on rocking my brother 🤘🤘
PANTERA FOREVER RIP DIME AND VIN MY HERO'S.
I wonder who kept the 14”x8”SONOR metal snare that Vince purchased at a pawnshop, Vince started in a interview that he actually recorded on this snare their first few albums. Loved the Pearl snares. Never really got into the later stuff from ddrum. Still those are some gems.
I'm pretty psyched about his Pearl Masters snare as well!
amazing collection!!
I was drooling with the unboxing!
I have been wanting to get my hands on a Pearl Vinnie Paul signature snare. What you have is so special.
You rock!
Thanks so much Patrick. You're invited anytime dude 🤘
Really cool
Thanks Jonne 🤘
@@EssexRecordingStudios always great to see people remember Vinnie, can still remember exactly where i was when i heard he died. One of my favorite drummers
Shawn Drover signature snare. Great drum
Right on Mike! 🤘
What an amazing collection my dude! Can’t wait to hear them on a song!!!! I’d love to come out to Essex and do a track or two. Honestly, these drums should be sampled by Toontrack for posterity.
You're always welcome dude. And not a bad shout! Get a sample pack from the collection
It looks like these guys cleaned house on Vinnie's auction. I remember seeing all of these drums up for bid.
Yeah man, it was quite a ride on the bidding
@@EssexRecordingStudios Congratulations! I'm glad to see that his treasures didn't end up the same way as his house did. I hope they will have a good home forever.
I won the bid for the neon Hellyeah sign !
Dude, that is an incredible collection of Vinnie Paul. I hope Phil Anselmo sees this wow! Would love one of Vinnie's used snares. Very cool! 🤘🤘DC
Thanks David 🤘 These snares are here for artists to bang on anytime

Thanks Jonnie 🤘🤘
I hope all of the super human gear you've acquired isn't being stored all in the same place. If tragedy struck it would be a shame to lose all those incredible memories. Thanks for the great videos!
It's a big studio Aaron, and security is better than Fort Knox in this building...and I live next door ;)
I never saw the Silver Boa before. It looks better than the one Pearl mass produced. If you ever wanna get rid of it, l would take it off your hands 😁
17:30 Shawn Drover signature snare drum
Yeahhhhh boiiiiii 🤘🤘🤘
Man Pearl really missed the boat with that other VP prototype. I own two of his Pearl sig snares but damn I wish they had that green pattern instead. Still love the snare but that green one is so sick!!!
I know right! Who knows maybe there will be a deal someday in the future to release it. I guess that's up to the people who run his estate now
I caught an autographed drum head he threw out in Charlotte at Blockbuster Amplitheater. My little brother gave it too a girl while I was in federal prison for my rock & roll lifestyle.
My little brother new Vinnie, and the rest, from being an early fan and meeting him post show. He has several photos of he and Vinnie in the VIP room settings.
Wow man that is wild. Congrats on turning things around and getting out of the joint 🤘
@@EssexRecordingStudios I did a Martha Stewart stint over some white powder. There wasn't much to turn around actually. I was part of one of the first Old Man Bush Drug Task Force conspiracy circuses. I pled guilty to selling an alcoholic coke head a gram on his birthday. He had immunity and was involved in more drug nefariousness than I ever was. Anywho...
@@EssexRecordingStudios He's still doing the same shit, today. At 65. I learned the lesson. Paid my dues. Took up coffee. Same stuff, really.
That wasn't rattlesnake pattern, that razorback wasn't a stealth, for a superfan, you've missed the plot. Bonus points for glistening like a gladiator, and addressing it.
Did you see the headstock in the guitar? Literally a Razorback Stealth. This is of course the first one ever made and as far as aim aware, the only USA made one....obviously a different patter paint scheme. The vinnie paul unboxing venue shows it up against the Korean production Stealth with the silver bevels. Thanks for appreciating the glistening 🙌🖤
How much reverb you want on that snare?
Yes, thank you.
Duuuuuuuuude!!!! But what about those kick drums?
We gots 2 megadeth giant custom kick drums and there may still be a deal worked out on the estate on a remaining kit
@@EssexRecordingStudios I'm trying to say words but all I can do is sit here geek out. lol
Pretty fkn rad I'd say.
Cheers dude!
I sure wish you would kick me that pedal this way...ha
That guitar came from the back wall of The Clubhouse.. Vinnie Paul's strip club. It was on the back wall of the stage, I was the lighting guy on this video that was shot there and you can see it in the background on some shots ruclips.net/video/N8wpzf0cDcI/видео.html Thats why its a stripper with a golf club...
That is wild man! Well done on the video! Great to know even more metal history behind this axe 🤘
I am kinda shocked you threw that dope ass Razorback on the back of the couch like one of your gammas afghan blankets....
Oh it was just put there for the video. Our engineer was freaking out that the drums were being put on the £250k SSL Duality console 😂😂😂
We get it, you have cool stuff.. just open the dammed box
Liked for your avatar. I went to OCS at Fort Benning. Rangers Lead The Way!
I want to know who put these up for auction? Was it vinnies GF? Was Rita in charge of some of vinnies items? Can someone please tell me. Ty
His estate (the people who inherited Vinnie's stuff) commissioned a Texas based auction house to sell these items. His friend and his girlfriend got the bulk of the estate.
@@EssexRecordingStudios thank you for my answer. Im glad you’re the one who inherited those snares. They’re in good hands.
Is the white hammered, golf ball snare a 12"? It looks smaller.
They're 13" and you can get them quite cheap if they don't happen to previously belong to Vinnie Paul 🤘
It's no secret that selling gear helps keep the lights on here at the studio, but at the same time that gear is made available for artists to play and inspire them
You're gonna damage SOMETHING with the scissors before this video ends, I'm sure...
DUDE! You're KILLIN' us with the scissors! Use a decent knife edge, or something ELSE to cut open those precious boxes, PLEASE!
Donate an appropriate box opener please! I spent all my money on these drums!
@@EssexRecordingStudios I sure WILL sir!
Give me your info! I’ll send it ASAP!
That’s all…
You touch em like your scared of em I don't care what the price is if I bought those I would play the shit out of em
Oh they are getting played here for sure!
By the way it is definitely a business expense as well since you own the studi and they are considered gear. So don't let the tax benefits fall by the waste side my dude. Recoup some costs. And more importantly enjoy the lot! My jealousy stops here. ;)
@@adamdrummer6285 don't worry, now you can have a shot at some stuff.. Looks like he's starting to flip some of this gear on Reverb, despite saying they're "keeping it for anyone to play on/record with". The one with the spikes and lots of signatures on the batter head is on there right now. Hope you land yourself a snare!
@@R3TR0R4V3 if the price isn't too hefty. Good looking out!!!
It sure is cool,.....much like the Mustaine auction,.....how you allow NOBODY else a chance to own a piece of metal history by buying EVERYTHING. Truly awesome. 😐
Literally an auction dude. Many fans far wealthier than me. Google "auction" to learn more
It's a shame that this stuff wasn't bought by an American or an American based company and stayed in the USA and put on display.it sickens me that all this stuff went overseas.
Bro I'm literally an American. I would have thought the accent gave it away 😂 And come on, the band had fans across the globe...more outside of the states given the populations of the rest of the world. Just be thankful this stuff is carrying on their legacy in a real studio with real musicians and fans 🤘
Your missing one snare witch is the dragon drum .
Hey Don, for some reason it wasn't there in his estate sale. This black one I have is the one he kept.
Those snake skin snares ones a python the other is rattlesnake the point will "Bite" ya' if your not carefull.
They don't have his Tama snares
Yeah there weren't any in his estate apparently
Piccolo snares sound huge and fat when recorded, I don’t know why more people don’t record with them
Most definitely!
Love the video! You probably know this already, but your camera has no idea what to focus on which makes the video really tough to watch sometimes.
Take care!
Why tf would all dean endorseeei sign a snare drum? Makes no sense
Dean owns DDRUM. The Dean Owners Club show in London was organised by the UK's Dean/DDrum Distributor. Vinnie Paul was DDrum's big endorsee, and his brother Dime was Dean's biggest endorsee. Thus the connection
You dont sound british
I'm American made baby 🤘
Guess I’m the only one kind of pissed off watching this? This dudes craft just auctioned off to the highest bidder…. Smh.
Well it was that or stay locked up in storage or demolished with the house 🤷
My God he didn't hit one of them with a drum stick. Just one little tappy tappy. Why would he not let the viewers hear them? I have a feeling this is not approved by the Metal Gods.
Haha don't you worry. I've got some insane drummers coming in to demo them!
@@EssexRecordingStudios I'm a total smartass. My wife slaps me every day. Nothing but love for your channel. Dude that is one Hell of a collection! That white snare looks heavy. All of them look badass. I heard some of the guys from Pantera were into golf. I didn't know if that was true or not.
...and now it's listed for sale on Reverb. Nice. 😑
It's literally not. Nice fake news bud 👎
@@EssexRecordingStudios oh? Well one of the snares, the one with spikes and signatures on the batter head is indeed listed on Reverb, unless there's 2 Essex Recording Studios.. 🤷🏻

Seller: Essex Recording Studios - Southend-On-Sea, United Kingdom. A.k.a. You! 🙂
It's your gear and you can do what you want with it, obviously. I just thought it was funny that one of the maybe "slightly less important" snares showed up for sale on Reverb, when I assumed you were keeping everything. I should know better than to assume. 😅 Then again, I'm sure it doesn't hurt to try to recoup some of that money back since you shelled out a lot for the whole collection. Nevertheless, good luck with it. 👍
You really got a focus latency on your camera that is pretty annoying! That's sad because the items you show us here are real history of rock'n roll!!
It is what it is man. Drop some Super Thanks and we can hire someone to manually pull focus. I spent enough as it is on the gear here 🤑😂
@@EssexRecordingStudios I should have say it was a great video to not look like I made a negative comment... I really love the video and that's just sad there is this little issue but it doesn't affect the quality of the subject! It's a nice piece of informations👍
It can't be good wearing a dead man's boots bro.
You think I might get haunted by Vinnie? I seriously doubt he would care. He'd probably suggest using them to pour shots 🍻🤘
Dunno, gives me a bad vibe. Getting excited over this doesn't sit well with me.
You seriously can't get excited that 4 years after his passing, his legacy and gear gets new life to create more music instead of being hidden packed away???
@Mike Griffin 😆 true. Says the guy who reflects the dark side that cut his sons arm off with a light sabor.
Says the guy who obviously sucks at life.
