I agree pretty heavily with this list, but to say Mark's acting in A New Hope was not that good is crazy, he was in a state of shock and disbelief when his Aunt and Uncle were killed and he clearly shows unimaginable anger when Kenobi dies and takes out like 5 stormtroopers. I think he acted it well

Revenge of the Sith is the toughest to rank because it has possibly the most compelling story and best action scenes, but the dialogue kills it at times. This is where Empire truly shines, as well as New Hope and Jedi. Solo is by far the most underappreciated Star Wars film, so much fun. Rouge One was great (as is Andor) and shines a light on the unheralded members of the Rebellion. It also has THE most kick-ass Darth Vader ever to come to the movies. Enjoyed the other two prequels even with all their flaws. No need to mention the sequel trilogy.

Alright here goes… 11. Attack of the Clones: a bad love story, corny dialogue, and unintentional goofiness that makes me physically cringe.A few redeeming qualities that help, but don’t save. 10. The Last Jedi: The franchise breaker. TFA asked some pretty good questions that it left open ended, and TLJ came in to either answer those questions about as poorly as possible or completely ignore them. 9. The Rise of Skywalker: A beautiful mess. Cinematically, one of the greatest movies possibly of all time. But story wise… this was just JJ’s attempt to stitch back together what Rian broke about what I believe JJ originally had in mind when putting together TFA. And hardly any of it landed. 8. The Phantom Menace: A boring, poorly paced move, that had its share all-time great moments with some all-time great characters, which is enough to elevate this film as pretty decent watch. 7. A New Hope (😅): Basically all the stuff Eli said, but I just can’t bring myself to put on those ‘blinders’. But while I may not be entranced by this movie, its undeniably legendary legacy makes it every bit deserving of its rightful place in cinema history. 6. Rogue One: a thoroughly enjoyable film that emulates the original trilogy so well, all while elevating it with modern day technology. To me, though, the ensemble of protagonists just fell flat. They were basic and uninteresting, to be harsh. But so many good things surround this gripe, that it still holds up quite well despite it. 5. Solo: an all-around awesome look at Han’s backstory. I think it could’ve been a little longer, and it wasn’t perfect, but this is still a great movie with some great moments that well-establishes some more lore about a great character. 4. The Empire Strikes Back: By far the most iconic Star Wars movie. When I think Star Wars, I think The Empire Strikes Back. TESB *is* Star Wars. It falls into some of the same drawbacks as A New Hope, but everything is just done a little better, from the dialogue to the acting to the VFX. 3. The Force Awakens: This was my first Star Wars theater experience. I saw it in theaters six times. It might be a carbon copy of A New Hope, but I couldn’t have asked for anything better than to see a modernized New Hope. I was not disappointed. 2. Revenge of the Sith: Suffers from a lot of the same cheesiness and clunkiness that plagues the entire prequels, but I’m a sucker for emotional intensity, and man, does it come through on that front. There are also just so many other great things about this movie that truly make it a staple for the franchise. 1. Return of the Jedi: Probably the least-liked original trilogy movie. And while it may not be the perfect movie, I think it IS the perfect ending. RotJ holds a special place in my heart, and even became a big driver for the moral standard I hold for myself to this day. Vader’s redemption is beautifully captured, completing the ultimate ‘good will trump all in the face of evil’ story.

@QueenTheTrueStarWarsFan Except Anakin is portrayed not as a good person but as a whiny, intolerable ingrate who doesn't have proper motives for turning against the jedi. The romance is beyond cringe and is somewhat toxic, making it hard to feel more and believe that it could have ever worked, other than because the plot requires it to. All of the characters are idiots just so Palpatine can win by luck, even though his plan is so convoluted and very much shouldn't have worked. TPM, despite being the best movie of the prequels, is 2/3 irrelevant, which makes the following 2 movies even more pathetic. The originals were a perfect story by themselves, and the prequels somewhat tarnished the perfect story of the OT because of all its flaws.

I just dont get how The last Jedi is ranked so high, force awakens was not great but they could have built from it - the Last Jedi ruined all chance of that imo. It also felt so scaled down for a galactic conflict

While I wouldn't Rank Revenge of the Sith No. , it is still pretty great IMO and is high on my list. for one, I think the OT is better, especially episodes, 4 and 5. and two the flaws you pointed out about it are partly why and a few others that drag it down a peg from being no 1. Such as: Mace Windu's fight with palpatine is anti-climatic, as palpatine is making weird faces throughout the whole fight which takes me out of their duel. It doesn't sell to me at all that this man, Palpatine, is the most powerful man in the Galaxy, as Windu wins too easily IMO. It should have been a closer duel. Another is Anakin's turn being rushed as you said, and also he doesn't feel like the Darth Vader from the OT, meaning you dont really get sold on the fact in this film that this man can be the tyrant of the Galaxy for the next few decades, as he doesn't feel like he is to be feared in this film. As he is just a brat in ep. 2 and an idiot at times in this film, doesn't feel like he is as smart and ruthless as he is in the OT, imo.

Solo is horrible. It is easily as bad (or worse) than VII, VIII, IX. Ep II is quite a bit better. Episode IV is literally one of the best films and most success movie of all times. The space opera starts there. If any of the movies are even close to EP IV to is Ep V. Rogue 1 is an unneeded and probably inappropriate rewrite of the back story in the crawl of Ep IV. That said, it is easily the best movie since Disney Star Wars.

The Force Awakens is a nostalgia-driven remake rehashing the past, with characters who have as much charisma and personality as dead oysters, a lack of creativity and a shrinking Star Wars universe. The Last Jedi is terribly boring, with boring arcs that have no connection with the main plot (Canto Bight), boring characters (Rose, Finn, Poe...), forced cringe humor, Luke Skywalker looking like an asshole... The Rise of the Skywalker is the return of Palpatine and Rey Palpatine's granddaughter... Waste. Star Wars 7,8,9 are the biggest cinematic disappointment of the decade. Solo is boring and should never have existed. Rogue One is a decent war movie but a bad Star Wars movie, too realistic, lacking in fantasy, and with forgettable, uninteresting characters.

Nahh I don't care how bad some of the prequel movies are, none are worse than the best sequel movie its not even close they're that trash, yes all of them.
I think that revenge of the sith is too overrated and gets too much love these days. This movie has no true plot anakin skywalker turns bad, the Jedi are killed, the empire rises and Luke and leia are born. That is what happens not the plot itself. The movie looks bad compared to phantom menace. I will say mustafar looks good but the rest just look so fake weather or not it is digital. The clones look terrible and don’t resemble actual troopers. They look clearly cgi. The music is boring. If it is good it is the clone army match which was originally used for attack of the clones as well as Padmes funeral music which was previously used for qui gons death. Sure there is anakins betrayal and dark deeds but it just feels like generic sad music. There is also battle of the hero’s which is just so lame compared to duel of fates which is epic and a jedis fury which captures the true tragedy of darth Vader. The plot constantly shifts. One moment they are trying to kill to kill grevious to then trying to survive order 66. Every other Star Wars has a true plot and direction. This one is just a series of events that eventually Leeds up to a much superior film of Star Wars 1977. It is paced terribly and by the end they must have everything to be setup perfectly just how it is in new hope even though it is a 19 year difference. Darth Vader is barely in it and is not cool at all. I will say I do like christensons preformance as anakin and Vader as well as when vader is getting his suit on. That is what the movie should have been like. The only reason the movie gets praise today is because of the sequels and the weird obsession with anakin and the clone wars as well as just that everyone is nostalgic for it.

You also knew what the plot and point of the movie would be from the beginning it didn’t have the feel of let’s just add stuff as we go until anakin tuned into Vader. From a filmmaking standpoint it is the best one. Interesting characters that are either relatable or fun in some way. New hope is actually written like a classic action adventures that Lucas loved himself. Are some of the special effects a bit dated. Sure the movie will be 50 years old in a couple years. Also it’s like u haven’t even watched the film. Doesn’t have much at all? What are you talking about? What does this not have that the others do when it comes to quality of film. And if you say there isn’t as much of the galaxy like in revenge of the sith or attack of the clones. That doesn’t determine the quality of a film. If you want expanded lore and galaxy read and watch the terrible Disney garbage. If u actually care about the films itself rather than how it looks for the fake Disney Star Wars brand then by all means keep drinking the koolaid. Disney is introducing more characters and parts of the galaxy and lore just to take your money. It is brand. Not art. Revenge of the sith and the prequels I would consider art because they had good intentions at least. Same with the empire and Jedi. But none have ever been on the level of this first movie
Star Wars I-VI will never be beaten. Disney should stop with Star Wars because nobody wants to see a new trilogy with the Mary Sue girl who stole the Skywalker name at the end of the last movie. The sequels are flawed and the next movies will be in the same spirit.

NGL i think rogue one is the better film, revenge of the sith is the best if you have seen clone wars but only if... and although the film is very compelling, dark, and action heavy but rogue one is constructed in a better way and gives more payback in the film itself... The fall to the dark side of anakin is not beliveable if you havent seen clone wars, it just feels off to me 1 Rogue one 2 E3 revenge of the sith 3 E5 4 E2 (The adrenaline rush of the coming of the clones is crazy for me and it's the only reason it's there, the story before the clones come is meh) 5 E6 ewoks feel off 6 E4, got old really bad and acting a bit lackluster and off putting sometimes 7 Solo, meh for me i couldn"t remember the plot 8 E1 ... everything was said 9 the force awakens, rey not having any struggles and plot being a bit too similar to E4 10 The last jedi, nonsense scenes and idiotic plot, didn't cut it for me 11 the rise of skywalker, BORING, GET A LIFE, cliché, idiotic scenes too much hazard and trying way too hard to seem better than it is ...

I feel like episode one should get slightly more credit, I'm not saying its great but it had to show so much in so little time. It had to show that Obi Wan was way too young to train Anakin, Qui Gon not being able to be the "father" Anakin needed, the beginnings of Palpatine's manipulation, the reason why there was a war going on in the first place, etc. While yes the dialogue wasnt great and they lingered on the comedic relief more, it doesnt negate the importance of everything that happened. Attack of the Clones was, in my opinion, worse.

Oh I know. It’s my dad’s favorite SW movie 😅. But this is my opinion for the most part, and as a Star Wars movie, I don’t think TLJ holds up to the rest.
I honestly will never understand this - born 76- SW was massive growing up so biased towards the originals, however TLJ ruined any chance of a cohesive trilogy and even more so felt so small compared to others that were on a galactic level. To each their own I guess
they did something different with it, a brave take at something else which would split the fandom. either you love it or you hate it and i personally loved it. so much respect for them taking a different route than what everyone was expecting. really unpredictable which i can’t say any other star wars film comes close to.

Revenge of the Sith can't hold Empire's jock strap. Nothing in the prequel trilogy can top the original trilogy. The sequel trilogy has plenty of problems. But Episodes 7 and 9 are better than Attack of the Clones.

Giant plot holes, poor direction, cringie dialogs, lame edition, exces os CGI, lack of development of some characters (Dooku, Grievous, Windu, Padme). Isn't fair compare visual effects of different ages movies, but Empire looked awesome in 1980, while ROTS was criticized in 2005 cause all in it look fake like video game graphics. You say better music? Just two words : IMPERIAL MARCH. Not to mention the ost of ROTS take a lot from the previous films. Its ok if ROTS is your favorite, but as long as you dont have objetivity a padawan still be, my friend.
ROTS never deserved #1. It is egregiously overrated. By far far the most overrated in the franchise. It's not even the best of the prequels because TPM is better, despite being 2/3 irrelevant.
I did note the downsides of ROTS, but it's just my opinion. I genuinely enjoy that movie the most because I think it's the most immersive star wars experience.

Even though I think ESB is "better" I still enjoy ROTS more, despite it's flaws. On a side note I also enjoy the other 2 prequels. I know they're not the best when it comes to dialogue and they have some pacing issues, but I fell in love with the actual story being told.

I agree pretty heavily with this list, but to say Mark's acting in A New Hope was not that good is crazy, he was in a state of shock and disbelief when his Aunt and Uncle were killed and he clearly shows unimaginable anger when Kenobi dies and takes out like 5 stormtroopers. I think he acted it well
I guess I said it wrong, I don’t think his acting is poor per se, but it’s his weakest performance in the trilogy in my opinion

Agree with the order of the rest of your list. Revenge of the Sith is the toughest to rank because it has possibly the most compelling story and best action scenes, but the dialogue kills it at times. This is where Empire truly shines, as well as New Hope and Jedi. Solo is by far the most underappreciated Star Wars film, so much fun. Rouge One was great (as is Andor) and shines a light on the unheralded members of the Rebellion. It also has THE most kick-ass Darth Vader ever to come to the movies. Enjoyed the other two prequels even with all their flaws. No need to mention the sequel trilogy.

11. Attack of the Clones: a bad love story, corny dialogue, and unintentional goofiness that makes me physically cringe.A few redeeming qualities that help, but don’t save.
10. The Last Jedi: The franchise breaker. TFA asked some pretty good questions that it left open ended, and TLJ came in to either answer those questions about as poorly as possible or completely ignore them.
9. The Rise of Skywalker: A beautiful mess. Cinematically, one of the greatest movies possibly of all time. But story wise… this was just JJ’s attempt to stitch back together what Rian broke about what I believe JJ originally had in mind when putting together TFA. And hardly any of it landed.
8. The Phantom Menace:
A boring, poorly paced move, that had its share all-time great moments with some all-time great characters, which is enough to elevate this film as pretty decent watch.
7. A New Hope (😅): Basically all the stuff Eli said, but I just can’t bring myself to put on those ‘blinders’. But while I may not be entranced by this movie, its undeniably legendary legacy makes it every bit deserving of its rightful place in cinema history.
6. Rogue One: a thoroughly enjoyable film that emulates the original trilogy so well, all while elevating it with modern day technology. To me, though, the ensemble of protagonists just fell flat. They were basic and uninteresting, to be harsh. But so many good things surround this gripe, that it still holds up quite well despite it.
5. Solo: an all-around awesome look at Han’s backstory. I think it could’ve been a little longer, and it wasn’t perfect, but this is still a great movie with some great moments that well-establishes some more lore about a great character.
4. The Empire Strikes Back: By far the most iconic Star Wars movie. When I think Star Wars, I think The Empire Strikes Back. TESB *is* Star Wars. It falls into some of the same drawbacks as A New Hope, but everything is just done a little better, from the dialogue to the acting to the VFX.
3. The Force Awakens: This was my first Star Wars theater experience. I saw it in theaters six times. It might be a carbon copy of A New Hope, but I couldn’t have asked for anything better than to see a modernized New Hope. I was not disappointed.

Revenge of the Sith: Suffers from a lot of the same cheesiness and clunkiness that plagues the entire prequels, but I’m a sucker for emotional intensity, and man, does it come through on that front. There are also just so many other great things about this movie that truly make it a staple for the franchise.
1. Return of the Jedi: Probably the least-liked original trilogy movie. And while it may not be the perfect movie, I think it IS the perfect ending. RotJ holds a special place in my heart, and even became a big driver for the moral standard I hold for myself to this day. Vader’s redemption is beautifully captured, completing the ultimate ‘good will trump all in the face of evil’ story.

Revenge of the Sith is the best Star Wars film, even better than The Empire Strikes Back, which is close second. The Last Jedi is the worst Star Wars film, with The Rise of Skywalker being only slightly better than TLJ.
ROTS doesn't hold a candle to the OT. Even TPM is better. ROTS is by far the most overrated movie in the franchise. 6.5/10 at best because everything is underdeveloped and rushed. TFA is genuinely better than both TPM and AOTC. Maybe even TLJ is better as well.

@QueenTheTrueStarWarsFan Except Anakin is portrayed not as a good person but as a whiny, intolerable ingrate who doesn't have proper motives for turning against the jedi. The romance is beyond cringe and is somewhat toxic, making it hard to feel more and believe that it could have ever worked, other than because the plot requires it to. All of the characters are idiots just so Palpatine can win by luck, even though his plan is so convoluted and very much shouldn't have worked. TPM, despite being the best movie of the prequels, is 2/3 irrelevant, which makes the following 2 movies even more pathetic. The originals were a perfect story by themselves, and the prequels somewhat tarnished the perfect story of the OT because of all its flaws.

While I wouldn't Rank Revenge of the Sith No. , it is still pretty great IMO and is high on my list.
for one, I think the OT is better, especially episodes, 4 and 5.
and two the flaws you pointed out about it are partly why and a few others that drag it down a peg from being no 1.
Such as: Mace Windu's fight with palpatine is anti-climatic, as palpatine is making weird faces throughout the whole fight which takes me out of their duel. It doesn't sell to me at all that this man, Palpatine, is the most powerful man in the Galaxy, as Windu wins too easily IMO. It should have been a closer duel.
Another is Anakin's turn being rushed as you said, and also he doesn't feel like the Darth Vader from the OT, meaning you dont really get sold on the fact in this film that this man can be the tyrant of the Galaxy for the next few decades, as he doesn't feel like he is to be feared in this film. As he is just a brat in ep. 2 and an idiot at times in this film, doesn't feel like he is as smart and ruthless as he is in the OT, imo.

Solo is horrible. It is easily as bad (or worse) than VII, VIII, IX. Ep II is quite a bit better. Episode IV is literally one of the best films and most success movie of all times. The space opera starts there. If any of the movies are even close to EP IV to is Ep V. Rogue 1 is an unneeded and probably inappropriate rewrite of the back story in the crawl of Ep IV. That said, it is easily the best movie since Disney Star Wars.

Nahh I don't care how bad some of the prequel movies are, none are worse than the best sequel movie its not even close they're that trash, yes all of them.
I think that revenge of the sith is too overrated and gets too much love these days. This movie has no true plot anakin skywalker turns bad, the Jedi are killed, the empire rises and Luke and leia are born. That is what happens not the plot itself. The movie looks bad compared to phantom menace. I will say mustafar looks good but the rest just look so fake weather or not it is digital. The clones look terrible and don’t resemble actual troopers. They look clearly cgi. The music is boring. If it is good it is the clone army match which was originally used for attack of the clones as well as Padmes funeral music which was previously used for qui gons death. Sure there is anakins betrayal and dark deeds but it just feels like generic sad music. There is also battle of the hero’s which is just so lame compared to duel of fates which is epic and a jedis fury which captures the true tragedy of darth Vader. The plot constantly shifts. One moment they are trying to kill to kill grevious to then trying to survive order 66. Every other Star Wars has a true plot and direction. This one is just a series of events that eventually Leeds up to a much superior film of Star Wars 1977. It is paced terribly and by the end they must have everything to be setup perfectly just how it is in new hope even though it is a 19 year difference. Darth Vader is barely in it and is not cool at all. I will say I do like christensons preformance as anakin and Vader as well as when vader is getting his suit on. That is what the movie should have been like. The only reason the movie gets praise today is because of the sequels and the weird obsession with anakin and the clone wars as well as just that everyone is nostalgic for it.

You also knew what the plot and point of the movie would be from the beginning it didn’t have the feel of let’s just add stuff as we go until anakin tuned into Vader. From a filmmaking standpoint it is the best one. Interesting characters that are either relatable or fun in some way. New hope is actually written like a classic action adventures that Lucas loved himself. Are some of the special effects a bit dated. Sure the movie will be 50 years old in a couple years. Also it’s like u haven’t even watched the film. Doesn’t have much at all? What are you talking about? What does this not have that the others do when it comes to quality of film. And if you say there isn’t as much of the galaxy like in revenge of the sith or attack of the clones. That doesn’t determine the quality of a film. If you want expanded lore and galaxy read and watch the terrible Disney garbage. If u actually care about the films itself rather than how it looks for the fake Disney Star Wars brand then by all means keep drinking the koolaid. Disney is introducing more characters and parts of the galaxy and lore just to take your money. It is brand. Not art. Revenge of the sith and the prequels I would consider art because they had good intentions at least. Same with the empire and Jedi. But none have ever been on the level of this first movie

I feel like episode one should get slightly more credit, I'm not saying its great but it had to show so much in so little time. It had to show that Obi Wan was way too young to train Anakin, Qui Gon not being able to be the "father" Anakin needed, the beginnings of Palpatine's manipulation, the reason why there was a war going on in the first place, etc. While yes the dialogue wasnt great and they lingered on the comedic relief more, it doesnt negate the importance of everything that happened. Attack of the Clones was, in my opinion, worse.

Oh I know. It’s my dad’s favorite SW movie 😅. But this is my opinion for the most part, and as a Star Wars movie, I don’t think TLJ holds up to the rest.

People want to hate the movie because all they remember is the sand line, forgetting the context, the sand line doesn't come out of nowhere, anyone who's watch the movie knows that, it's a reply to Padme's previous line where she says she used to get on the sand to dry in the sun, and Anakin having spent his childhood on a poor desert planet and being an awkward teenager to declare his feelings, it makes sense.

Revenge of the Sith can't hold Empire's jock strap. Nothing in the prequel trilogy can top the original trilogy. The sequel trilogy has plenty of problems. But Episodes 7 and 9 are better than Attack of the Clones.

If you think Han is that bad, then Anakin, Obi-Wan and Jar Jar are far worse.
I actually really like his jokes, however corny they might be, and I love harrison ford as an actor

Sorry but ROTS is not even close to originals in cinematographic quality or cultural impact. Eps.IV and V are easily in top 30 movies of all time.

What cultural impact had ROTS?? Prequels passed without glory and overshadowed for other franchises like LOTR. @@facu415 The Prequels literally had better visual effects, music, more action sequences, emotion, and other things than A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back. Put nostalgia aside and you’ll realize how Revenge of The Sith is a better movie. Most tierlists also rank ROS higher than it because of these reasons.
@@TheMaltianRobloxian You need put nostalgia aside bro. ROTS is fun and have a bunch of very emotional moments but still have many flaws to be considered a masterpiece. Giant plot holes, poor direction, cringie dialogs, lame edition, exces os CGI, lack of development of some characters (Dooku, Grievous, Windu, Padme). Isn't fair compare visual effects of different ages movies, but Empire looked awesome in 1980, while ROTS was criticized in 2005 cause all in it look fake like video game graphics. You say better music? Just two words : IMPERIAL MARCH. Not to mention the ost of ROTS take a lot from the previous films.
Its ok if ROTS is your favorite, but as long as you dont have objetivity a padawan still be, my friend.
IV really isnt that much of a masterpiece
ROTS never deserved #1. It is egregiously overrated. By far far the most overrated in the franchise. It's not even the best of the prequels because TPM is better, despite being 2/3 irrelevant.

I did note the downsides of ROTS, but it's just my opinion. I genuinely enjoy that movie the most because I think it's the most immersive star wars experience.

Personally it's my favorite Star Wars movie, but I don't necessarily think it's the "best" one, if that makes sense. Even though I think ESB is "better" I still enjoy ROTS more, despite it's flaws. On a side note I also enjoy the other 2 prequels. I know they're not the best when it comes to dialogue and they have some pacing issues, but I fell in love with the actual story being told.
