Even if you do not want a Chinese car, it is essential that we as consumers have them in the market. The established legacy car brands seriously need to be shaken up as they have been price gouging us for far too long. If it takes a brace of new competitors for the Germans and Japanese to up their service levels, warranties, value proposition, and revise their pricing to current realities, then so be it. Without new competition, the legacy auto makers will do what they have been doing for decades - fleecing us local car buyers !
Competition is great! This is especially true in that imports carry 30%+ import duty to protect local car manufacturers. All this has done is make them lazy. If you cant compete without special favours, you shouldnt be in business.
The problem is that as soon a new brand becomes established, for example Hyundai and Kia they then increase their prices and soon are similarly priced to the Germans and Japanese brands.
I would really love that feature that doesn't allow anyone but the driver to use the volume when your son grows older you will know what I mean all my children and now my grandchildren when they get in the car turn down my music or change it .
Unlike Luka's mom... I love love love a panoramic roof most days. But our summer sunlight sometimes calls for a sunshade. That sunshade sure let's in A LOT of light. Gives an impression that it could be a bit flimsy. How effective is it?
Ya shoowee, I need ALL of the shade. I don't like a shade cloth, I feel it should always be a solid material so you are able to escape the sun if needed
The stretched Android Auto would drive me crazy on the infotainment screen. I immediately noticed it. Wonder if Apple CarPlay does the same thing. And I would miss the volume knob as well. I constantly use it to quickly mute.
@@rnburley Tractors can easily last 20-30 years reliably. I think these are disposable with a 10 year lifespan before they start becoming a problematic German. Parts support will also be a big problem. Time will tell.
@rnburley here on people in their right minds spending R500k for a little polo 1.0 (before options) 😂 Also we have people paying R800k or more for diesel Bakkies and SUVs on a ladder frame platform and those are farm impliments. In SA we don't have an issue with tractors 😂
Miway is ridiculously expensive, and Naked doesn’t cover business use. Outsurance is by far the most expensive, while Santam offers 0% excess and better value overall.
No thanks. Show me one thing, just one thing, coming ftom China that is good, reliable and holds value. I thought so.. Give me VW without another thought!

Agreed, there's a few cars like this, it works in Europe but as you said, the African sun requires a black out shade

Hi Juliet will you be driving the new Suzuki Swift? Thanks

Ya, I also didn't love it!!!!!
if you have a R500k budget do you buy this GAC or a demo CX5 ,CX30 Corolla cross or Haval Jolion , H6 demo ?
No one in their right mind would spend 500k on a Chinese car. Under the frock this is a simple tractor.
Cx5

Ahh thank you! The Jetour X70 is coming next week, I think, or the one thereafter. But won't get the Dashing anytime soon, unfortunately.

It has a five-star ASEAN NCAP rating
