High End Shave 2020 with Gravitas Pour Homme Cologne & Gillette Toggle Razor

- Trying out a new Cologne from Naughton & Wilson from England. I usually try to pick up at least one new high end colognes at least once a year. My last was Sauvage. The newest is Gravitas Pour Homme, a newley released scent who’s notes are-
Top Notes Bergamot, Mandarin orange, Lavender
Heart Notes Coriander, Cardamom, Pepper
Base Notes Patchouli, Oakmoss, Ambergris, Vanilla

My 58 Gold Toggle is my weekly Sunday shave. Too good to just sit there not used as it was intended too. It's an efficient and smooth shave.

Great shave. If there was a gold plated brush and you bought it, this shave would’ve been even more expensive and interesting. I’m not a cologne kind of guy, but when shaving artisans make their soaps and aftershaves based off fragrances, it fascinates everyone

I'd been using a Crabtree & Evelyn scuttle and their shaving soaps for decades. You've opened up a lot of other options for me. I recently got a Parker razor and a variety of blades.
My everyday razor is the Parker Hefty. Love it

I didn't realize Sauvage was that high end of a cologne. My nephew got me a bottle of it for Christmas last year... I suppose now I really owe him this year. I'm not much of a cologne guy but I do really enjoy it.

Hey Ken, very nice review. The Chubby 1 seems a decent size brush. My Berkeley 46 is a bit small for my hands but nevertheless a great little brush. No hair loss problems either on this one.

The toggle is an amazing thing alright......hope you and your family are staying well through covid...when I was in the states in 1985 I brought my dad Savage which he loved, it’s definitely a lovely scent..I might have to get Gravitas for Lex...he might like it.....

Ken💈💈 Nicely done. Had a Toggle and sold it for a good profit, nice looking razor but terrible maintenance wise. Picked up a new, never used Executive and a new Senator with the money. Good deal? who knows but I'm happy now. Great soap you used, TOBS is always a good bet. Not much on cologne scents, but this one sounds nice. Glad it worked out for you. Off to Dermatologist tomorrow for Basel cell surgery, third time in four years. Dang. Great video, well done. Enjoy!

Hi Bill! You'd definitely enjoy Gravitas. You should check out Mr. Smelly's channel. He's into 80s scents more than many other fragrance reviewers.
Richard Sanchez cologne is a scent to be worn all day. It lasts longer. Aftershave scent lasts just a short time
@@richardsanchez9190 an aftershave is about disinfecting cuts from a shave in the old sense, but in the modern sense, it's about the fragrance oil concentration.

Gravitas is great! Best to keep fragrances out of the bathroom and the constant change in heat tho, that'll make the fragrance go bad faster.

Excellent video Ken. I’d love to see Gillette recreate the Toggle as well, but from a manufacturer’s point of view I’d imagine it would be a pain in the backside for Gillette to make today. I’m speaking both price and labor wise.

I have Lemon and Lime, Coconut, Sandalwood and Eton College creams and love them equally. They lather outstandingly well.
As others said, try Mont Blanc Explorer as a cheap alternative to Aventus, you may be pleasantly surprised.

I also happen to like Eternity although I am still in my 20‘s 😂. Maybe it is because it reminds me of my father/uncles wearing it. The Aventus price keeps going up and up. When it was released, it was way cheaper. Of course, natural materials cost more money now than 10 years ago but still. And there are too many fragrances out there going into a similar direction. Maybe I should check out Gravitas? 🤔

Ken, Use your creed aventus, it is the big bottle and it will last you a long time.. you paid a lot and is meant to be use my friend! and don't keep it in the bathroom.. the steam from the showers and the uncontrolled temperature deteriorate the life of a cologne/perfume over time. Better in your closet.

As nutty and fanatically enthusiast for wet shaving as many of your audience might be; they are not the WORLD. In other words the money Gillette would have to shell to make a New Toggle would not be offset by sales. Wet Shavers do not comprise the majority of the Shaving World. The hobby aspect of wet shaving is NOT shared by the average person who shaves and I highly doubt there would be a crush to buy a New Toggle in the Grand Scheme of Things but you keep in dreaming: I might be wrong. ;-)
