    Will this mould stop the glue leaking to the backlight??

  • @JAYRAY00
    @JAYRAY00 9 лет назад

    Nice work, I can't believe the loca didn't seem into the backlight. I might try leaving the backlight on next time.

    • @How2Tech
      @How2Tech  9 лет назад

      Make sure to use low viscosity LOCA and not too much.

    • @JAYRAY00
      @JAYRAY00 9 лет назад +1

      ***** low viscosity? Don't you mean high? The lower the viscosity, the runnier it is. Water has a viscosity of 1. So a higher viscosity would be slow moving and thicker. Isn't that what you would want, so it doesn't run into the backlight...

      This is the glue I used...it seems counter intuitive but has been working since I started using it: www.amazon.com/10ml-LOCA-GLUE-Viscosity-Lightproof/dp/B00IOPYLJE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1428032860&sr=8-2&keywords=xfactor+loca

    I sometimes can't unglue the glass. Expetially on the iphone 4!
    I do heat it up well, sometimes too much, but it just feels like cutting in to hard sylicon, no matter how much I heat it up :S

      +Iulian Fartade If the screen has already been replaced before it is much harder to remove a second time.

      +How2Tech Possibly.. But I only had this issue with iphone 4 screens, I was thinking they probably use a different type of optical glue..

    Hi, every time I do it, get glue between the LCD and the backlight, causing stains on the screen. What am I doing wrong? I'm using the B7000 glue

    • @g3mobile243
      @g3mobile243 8 лет назад

      Your using to much loca adhesive try using only 3ml-4ml. And also you can remove the backlight so loca doesn't get in between LCD and backlight.

    Now my frame is wanting to separate from the screen. I was told it was due to the glue that was on it wasn't strong enough. Will 3m tape actually keep it together? This is an aftermarket screen. So I'm pretty much having to reglue or attach the the frame back to the screen.

    First of all, great job!
    I'm planning to get some broken i6 displays as they are quite cheap and hope to fully repair them, as I got some time on my hands now.
    2 Things: I seem to have solved the age-old problem with these goddamn Digitizer Frames. On i5(s), I use R-Grade Frames and some "Pattex" Ultra Gel (German) brand CA that ist just awesome. It's a bit more elastic than other types of CA and made even the small sides stick permanently to the glass. So what I'm saying is, forget about the special types of glue, like that hot melt stuff, it just won't work if you don't have the exact refurbishing machines. Just try to find some good CA.
    And: I only got my hands on 3 i6 Displays, but so far I always cut benath the polarizer and ended up destroying them when cleaning the polarizer glue. I'd much rather have the polarizer stay, using plastic cards as you did, that'll not cut beneath it... BUT was it possible for you to remove the backlight? So that no glue or alcohol from cleaning got under it? Did you seal it to the LCD? Or did being careful just suffice? I'm under the impression that it's much more fused with the LCD than on previous models.
    BTW.... Hail etradesupply. They just got the best stuff :)

    hi, I saw a lot of glass replacements with the UV glue, but some displays has spots near to the sides after the procedure, apareantly because the glue had leaked to inside of the LCD. How to know if the LCD display that I get in hands will let the glue leak, and how to seal or stop the leaking, providing secure job and non spotted LCD display?

    Hi,
    I want to fix an iPhone 6 glass and I have never done it before. So is there anything that is important to know before starting? And how do you remove the backlight of the LCD before applying the LOCA glue?

    • @o0o0Christian0o0o
      @o0o0Christian0o0o 8 лет назад

      +Edward Ng The backlight comes off pretty easy you just slowly pull it away from the LCD. Putting a credit card or prying tool in between and working your way around helps a lot.

      Jake Methner Yes, I have not made a video for it but maybe in the future.

    • @Methnerjacob
      @Methnerjacob 9 лет назад

      ***** Ok. Can you please put the links for parts in the description? I am trying to do this myself.
      You need the LOCA glue, the glass piece and the frame for the screen(which you can use from the broken screen and just add adhesive right?)
      Also is the back light expensive to replace?
      I cant decide whether its better replace just the glass or the screen and the glass for 200 bucks. This seems very effective.

      LOCA Mould: www.ebay.com/itm/LCD-Outer-Glass-Lens-Repair-Mould-Mold-Alignment-LOCA-UV-Glue-For-iPhone-6-4-7-/111603112151?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19fc1058d7

    • @How2Tech
      @How2Tech  9 лет назад

      Jake Methner The polarizer and backlight are different. The back light illuminates the LCD from behind. The polarizer allows the screen to be seen under light. You would only need to replace these if damaged in the repair process.
