in my 2003 Honda Element, the top of the mechanism he pushes down on at 0:58 can be seen on the outside of the lock if you remove the plastic key cover. i took a flat head screwdriver and pressed down on it while i simultaneously pulled on the glove box handle. it opened first try. hope this helps someone.

How do i open it the person before me lost the key
You might need to have a locksmith look at that
The plastic breaks after doing this. Don't attempt to leave it long term
