Despite it sitting in the driveway for over three years, I still had mine. I just couldn’t get rid of it. If the camper version does come about, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
I took a road trip in an Element from Houston to Vancouver BC and back. It was rock solid the whole time. Put 10k miles on it during the road trip. Slept in it at Yellowstone. Complaints were the mpg and road noise. The boxy design didn't help. Regret selling it though.
Was ready to buy an Element the last year of production but Honda didn’t upgrade the engine to the same specs as the Acord so I bought a RAV4 instead. Still driving it with 111K miles on it. Don’t really see the camper extension fitting on the prototype pod that’s shown. As for the pickup, the rear roof portion and back window seem to retract into the roof, like a garage door, with the window folding back down to reseal the bulkhead. Appears to be extended cab only in the drawing.
Well, that’s refreshing to hear and see. I can only hope that they can bring it back into production before I’m too old to drive one. For now though, I’m hanging onto my 2011 ‘E’ EX.😎
The Avalanche was a pick-up with a removal back cabin wall. The back cabin wall of the avalanche came out in two piece. You could leave the window in and remove the lower panel and have a truck bed that extended to the back of the front seats, or remove the window glass for an open-back vehicle. They sold quite well when introduced back in the early 2000's. The Honda Ridgeline does something similar.
I just want to say, I love honda suvs but i hate that they are advertised as off road when the most off road capable car honda ever made was the rally civic

Yes! @6:30! That's more interesting, more Fuel Efficient than the Element, more cargo, and more stable ride than the Element too-if u need the cargo space.
I have 2 06 CRV SE AWD which shares the same platform as the element. Those were Honda’s last of the golden generation. The 2nd gen CRV is my favorite of all time and then the element SC
The Element was everything 🙌🏾 my neighbor still has a black one 😊 ex coworker had a red one . I always love those and would buy one now . Wink wink 😉 Honda
A good family car that transforms into a good enough camper should be pretty popular, depending of course on value for money. Not sure though what the second patent is supposed to accomplish. Switching between a crew cabin and a big truck bed could be valuable, but if shortening the bed doesn’t provide additional seating, then the exercise looks a bit pointless?
Honda making the Element into a camper is a brilliant move in my opinion. Since VW teases the US market with the VW T7 California but refuses to sell them in the USA. From all the comments I read on the internet there is a substantial market out there for a daily driver that can also be used on vacation as a camper for the those who love outdoors adventures. I predict camping will become more popular as the economy keeps tightening.
The Element had so much life left in it. I always thought it could have been a slick dedicated taxi w/ a curb side big door behind a small filler. Reverse jump seat plus 3-seat bench.
Maybe Honda should call it the "Space Element", taking it from the concept name. Has a nice ring to it. Nice Pickup truck patent, hope there is a double cab version of this drawn up too.
A mini truck maybe based off of the civic or crv platform with a Mid-gate like the avalanche would be amazing. it could compete with the Santa Cruz and the Maverick. Both of those trucks need a mid gate. It would make them so much more useful.
Could totally be a passport too..... some mixed variation not to canaibalize the Ridgecrest/Pilot sales. Smaller size makes me think Element....loved the quirky style of that weird camper hauler. Maybe Hondas answer to the BRAT, SANTA Cruise, or Maverick! Imagine this as a hybrid with a niche market like the maverick, high MPG and quirky to fill a niche!
I'd love to see the Honda Element return in some way. Honda Fit as well, given that is my daily driver and I was really in hopes of those Fit models they announced over seas the same month they announced the Fit discontinuation in the US. Would also love to see Honda to make an official Kai-like pickup for the US. A very cheap, small pickup. They are super popular over seas, but here in the US, more and more states are making them illegal to import for some reason. I am not a pickup truck fan, but those tiny pickup trucks do interest me.
@honda if you see this the element somewhat possibly started the fleet/k van today in USA. If you guys decide to bring it back At least let it be similar to discontinued generation with features wise. Have a fwd gas only, fwd hybrid , awd gas only and awd none plug in hybrid. Prices under $40k if possible in today’s market.
The Honda pickup patent looks a LOT like the Telo Truck EV, if you want some high quality renders of what the midgate action looks like! You can even attach seats in the bed and install the bed cap to convert into a van.
I had so wanted one of those Elements! I Just could not get beyond the poor gas mileage and the less than stellar ground clearance. Being a person who likes to camp and fish, I ended up with the CRV. With improved gas mileage and ground clearance, and the same design style (gas engine for me still!), I would buy an Element in a heartbeat.
Just a basic remake of the Element would be great. Future cars should have multiple functions like extending length, configure for people or cargo, etc. Remember the bad old days when the only choice were cars that had long hoods and a trunk?
Honestly a new element makes a ton of sense for them. I think the first one was misunderstood and the market is looking for more utility use personal vehicles in the us. Definitely a hybrid makes a ton of sense...3cyl maybe.
I would buy a newer version but only gas, no electric. I don't want a lot of bells and whistles either. Better radio would be nice Lol. Nicer seats. No sun roof for me. But otherwise leave it alone! I have a 2011 with less than 80,000 miles . Love it!
2:42 The Space Hub has been confirmed? Would be interesting since no one in the US market seems to have one planned aside from Volkswagen from what I know. Do you have a link to a press release or a video that mentions the confirmation of the Space Hub’s production?
It's frustrating, because over and over and over again we see that, despite the accusations of SUV worship, Americans really want, and NEED, what amounts to a small van with plenty of doors and a flat rear load floor that turns into seats if you need them. Pickup beds are not secure, from theft or weather, you want something about that size, but enclosed. Any cleverness that you can throw at the cargo space is a nice bonus, and it should also be easy to clean. Engine power is not nearly as important as fuel consumption. The original Chrysler minivan, the Pontiac Vibe, the Honda Fit, the Honda Element, any number of hatchbacks, they all sell very well, but it's the manufacturers who do not like selling them.
Honda vehicles look goood, like all of them . I would love another Honda truck . Especially if it was just like the Ridgeline with a removable mid gate and awesome camper topper
I wish honda brought back the element but a longer version 4x8' behind the front seat and a higher roof! So i could put my atv in and be able the sleep comfortably while camping
I got another Mazda ad and a Nissan Pathfinder ad to start the video... step up your Ad game Honda haha

A mini truck maybe based off of the civic or crv platform with a Mid-gate like the avalanche would be amazing. it could compete with the Santa Cruz and the Maverick. Both of those trucks need a mid gate. It would make them so much more useful.
I see them on the road and they are indeed awesome to see. They look very "fresh"
THIS would absolutely ROCK !!! Please bring it back !!! Please keep it ICE/Hybrid.
Kirk, Didn't Ford promote something like this before with the Ford Transit but it never came to be?? Element Camper/Transit camper??
I’m SOOOOO DISAPPOINTED with Ford.
Just got a green 2007 Element with 100k miles 😊
Damn... So I am going to have to buy the new Prelude and also the new Element?? Two GenX wet dream machines...!!
Plug In Hybrid Honda Element with Simple inside... Similar to the original would be A+++++
@honda if you see this the element somewhat possibly started the fleet/k van today in USA. If you guys decide to bring it back At least let it be similar to discontinued generation with features wise. Have a fwd gas only, fwd hybrid , awd gas only and awd none plug in hybrid. Prices under $40k if possible in today’s market.
The element absolutely needs to come back! And not as some stupid EV.
The Honda pickup patent looks a LOT like the Telo Truck EV, if you want some high quality renders of what the midgate action looks like! You can even attach seats in the bed and install the bed cap to convert into a van.
🙏 Plz make an XL version to match the FJ Cruiser
Love the element even as a kid always thought it was a stylish family hauler
They should also reimagine the Crosstour, making it more rugged and, hopefully, far better looking than the original.
I bought an Astro AWD instead because I needed something for Lowes and HD runs but I still wish I had an Element AWD.
Just a basic remake of the Element would be great. Future cars should have multiple functions like extending length, configure for people or cargo, etc. Remember the bad old days when the only choice were cars that had long hoods and a trunk?
I actually dislike SUVs but the Element was an interesting vehicle, I liked the fold in seats. Kind of love it.
Make it so
Two things about new cars:
1. Is it happening?
2. Is it coming to North America?
It should look something like those box shaped Honda keis like nbox, n one, or n van
Bring it back.... And bring back the fit.
Honda getting into the outdoors. I love it.
The Honda Element would make a good vehicle for first line technicians in Diebold Nixdorf.
Love it!
Hell yeah! The toaster is making a comeback!
I swear the element and the fit are the cars people are holding onto for dear life
I have a 2004 and I’ve put a lot of money into it to make it a camper. If they come out with this I WILL buy.
I was thinking about traveling the US and living out of it after retirement. This new element design would probably be perfect!
They have become a popular farm utility vehicle.
If Honda made a small truck again, omg 😱 I’d buy one! A modern Honda Acty please! 🙏🏼
I love my Honda Element! Poor MPG slow, and under carriage rusts out
wow, the potential is wild!!!
Element is an amazing yey under estimated car. I have been wondering in last 15 years why honda is not bring Element back.
😮HONDA please 👏🏼
2:42 The Space Hub has been confirmed? Would be interesting since no one in the US market seems to have one planned aside from Volkswagen from what I know.
Do you have a link to a press release or a video that mentions the confirmation of the Space Hub’s production?
Too bad they can't get a patent for quality
Yo tengo 4 element y son una maravilla, recomendadas
