    Thanks so much for the DIY here and, where the grommets ended up failing after a few months, I appreciate you tried and showed the process. Will be doing mine soon. Didn't even have the issue with my seats until i decided to adjust the ride height lol going to do both to avoid the headache in the future.

    Thank you so much! I have been having this problem with my car and now I know how to fix it!

    Thanks for this - I saw lots of how-tos involving buying $50 worth of parts from Honda, but the tarp grommet fix is a great one for my Civic. The best part is the $12 for 50 grommets means I can fix the seat another 11 times!

    I folded an aluminum foil into a ring shape and inserted it into the bushing three years ago, and I have not had any problems since then. Just recently, I noticed a barely noticeable little rock, but for three years, it worked great.

    Great video, thank you for showing and explaining in detail. I'll be attempting this on two of my Hondas first chance I get

      I haven’t had a chance to post an update, but the aluminum grommets don’t last. My seat is already starting to develop some rocking again after only 4 months

      @@DustinRogersinMO I winder if brass grommets would be better?

      @DustinRogersinMO  6 месяцев назад

      @@lose2live the brass grommets that I’ve seen are just brass plated. I think they’re still aluminum base material.

    Hi how are your grommets holding up after all this time? Does the chair still feel rock solid?

    • @DustinRogersinMO
      @DustinRogersinMO  4 месяца назад

      No. They only lasted about 2-3 months. I don’t know if the OEM bushing would hold up longer, but for the price, I’m not willing to try. I’m tempted to just weld the linkages solid in the lowest position because I don’t need it to move. 😂

    • @jackbnmbl7
      @jackbnmbl7 2 месяца назад

      @@DustinRogersinMO Would you have to weld it? Couldn't you just sandwich it with washers and tighten? I don't care if I have the the up/down adjustment either.

    Is 1/2 different in UK? I ordered a set and they don’t fit in my links

    • @DustinRogersinMO
      @DustinRogersinMO  10 месяцев назад

      Are they too small or too large? My CRV is a Japan built and I’ve seen that there are some components that are different based on where it’s manufactured. Maybe these links are one of those differences 🤷

    • @fennexx5796
      @fennexx5796 10 месяцев назад

      @@DustinRogersinMO grommets are too large/linkage holes too small, only by a tiny bit, not enough to force them in tho, is there a slightly smaller size I could try? I can’t even find OEM bushings so it’s my only option lol

    • @fennexx5796

      @@DustinRogersinMO this one’s definitely made in Japan , atleast most of the parts are, but it’s a VTEC 1.6 2001 civic

      @@fennexx5796maybe the grommets you have are “heavy duty” and thicker than the ones I used. I’m curious if you ordered the kit I linked in the description or if you picked up a 1/2” grommet kit from somewhere else. If the one I linked doesn’t work, I want to remove the link.

      @@DustinRogersinMO no I got some from my local euro car parts, they were to rebuild a tarpolin, thin soft things to be honest, I could try your link but it’s American isn’t it
