  • The CV Axle joints tend to break on the Cayenne when you start doing off-roading with them. Nothing to shy away from though. This was my first attempt on the Cayenne, and it’s only took about 3 hours. This for sure the process on the 955 and 957 Cayenne as well as the first gen VW Touareg and Audi Q7.

Great video. I'm replacing mine as well. Good refresher. (replaced one last year, and now other one broke 😂)

Thanks! Putting back together was way easier that getting it apart. The parts sort of want to be together, if that makes any sense.

Thanks for making this! I have an ‘06 Cayenne s and when I accelerate it makes a terrible noise at the right front like it’s binding up or something… when I take the pressure off and gently accelerate, it’s fine… think it’s my cv axle?

Sounds like it to me. After I changed mine, I still had a vibration under acceleration. Turned out to be the center support bearing carrier that had also failed in addition to the CV. But your description sounds like a CV to me. If you can crawl under it and grab the CV shaft and try to shake it; it shouldn’t shake.
