Thank you. I knew this was relatively simple but I need to see something before I try it. I appreciate your straightforward demonstration. Now I just need to order the right parts for my windows!

What if there aren't any take out clips?

I have two windows that are missing the block and tackle balances. I have 2 balances that were left near the windows that I believe are still good. I tried to replace them; however, there doesn't seem to be a take-out clip near the top of the window. The closest I have found is a plug in a hole about 3/4 to 1 inch long about 6 inches above the hole that the hook goes into. I am confused on what to do as I can't seem to find any videos without the take-out clip to stop the balance at the top. Can you help me?
