  • In this recent nature photography video I find three quiet scenes to capture with one of them being a woodland landscape, one macro and one a general close up, all obtainable with standard photography kit. In the video I also reveal a little secret to making the difference between good image and a great one. If you love a quiet scene and you love nature photography, then come and join me...I think you'll love this film!

    If your objective for this channel is to teach and inspire Simon, you're nailing it! The last bluebell image was stunning. I've used larger sticks to temporarily hold down distracting stems of plants in the foreground and background, but never thought of using them to align the flowers to the focus plane. Yet another Simon Booth tip to take into the field next time!

    It suddenly dawned on me in the first four and a half minutes of this film how perfectly suited your voice is to your craft.. You explain things in such a way, whether it be about photography or about your surroundings, that to me at least, makes you appear like the David Attenborough of photography.. Another enchanting piece of work, Simon.. Is this Roddlesworth Woods?

    Wow... I have never heard the deer in Canada....I always enjoy just having "a good look around" too Simon... 🙂 such beauty so close to the highway... bluebells, white flowered, grass and ferns too 🙂 Beautiful first image 🙂 Great advice on photographing insects early on a cool morning 🙂 I actually like your video file clip at about 15:55 better than the posted still... the floral blues in the video show a bit better for me 🙂 the little bug/insect on top of the middle bluebell makes for a nice extra touch, you couldn't have planned it better.... 🙂 Thanks for sharing and look forward to seeing Switzerland 🙂

    Brilliant video with amazing pictures...I particularly like the flower images....that image almost looks like a water colour artwork with softness of light and depth of field used to very creative effect....I really like the bluebells images - never thought of using sticks to bring them to same focusing level, and the blades of grass with background blur looks so beautiful. Simon, you are such an inspiration to many, and while I may not get the chance to watch your video on the day it is uploaded, it is on my to do list...and will make time to watch it over a cup of tea.

    • @SimonBoothPhotography
      @SimonBoothPhotography  Год назад

      Yes, I agree 100% but I couldn’t get it. The bottom flower becomes too tight and if you move back, the effect of the OOF blue is lost. It’s a slight compromise but we’ll spotted. I did think of adding some to the top with the new PS AI but that’s just cheating.

  • @matsfotografi

    Great video as per usual! I liked the graphics when you explained your thoughts on the composition of the 16:9 image, simple and to the point! About the barking roe deer, I think they are less like Bambi than we give them credit for. I was out in my forest for a shoot at sunrise the other day. As I was waiting for the light I felt the urge to do as nature intended against a tree. The roe deer waited patiently until I "got into it" before he started barking like mad maybe 50 meters in front of me... I managed to hold it all together, but next time I'll bring an extra set of underwear😂
