This place is named after my Papa Lee B Jordan. I remember my mom telling me stories of how they used dynamite to blow out the cliffs in order to build the dam.
Hey Nadine, MH is still there. Just a little covered over. Videos by folks who don't know the people don't look much deeper than the chain stores, but at least we get a glimpse of home.
I was born in Mountain Home but it's become so urbanized that it's lost it's Ozark character and charm. Most of what remains of my family lives there yet. The mere mention tugs at my heartstrings to this day.
It is mostly a retirement community. There are several factories around that pay decent and employ a lot of people. Other than that your looking at construction work or fast food basically. Jobs don't pay a lot around here, but the cost of living is low too. If you get on with one of the factories you could work your way up to 16-20 per hour. But yes, this is mostly a retirement community.
Actually, thanks to the number of retirees, healthcare is probably the number one industry. If you are a nurse, CNA, physical therapist, or other healthcare professional, you should have no trouble finding a job.
Absolutely. Rocking Chair Resort will hook you up with a place to stay as well as a boat. Give them a call, I'm sure they could help you with a guide too if you wanted one.
Can you please fly over my hill/house that I used to live in because I want to see it😂 if you go to simple man’s bar you’ll see on the other side of the road the little mini golf and ice cream place. my hill is the one on the right (the long windy one) behind the mini golf and ice cream place. It’s actually a really pretty view and would be cool content not gonna lie
If I were to start offering a service where you could wear some virtual reality fpv goggles while I was flying whatever area you'd like to see, do you think that's something people would be interested in?
The lakes are nice but employment is what matters. Can anybody give me an idea of what to expect if I was to move there and needed to find steady employment? Are there any industries or is it mostly just mom and pops grocery stores, and feed stores and the likes.
@@nicholstop8161 I'm not much of a a farmer type. I could do construction I guess. There is a lot of jobs where I live but I'm trying to escape from the atmosphere. There are just too many immigrants here for me thanks mainly to Tyson chicken plants bringing them here. It's a real shame what is happening to this area such a beautiful place but it is starting to feel more like Mexico everyday.

I live just up from Pigeon Creek on 201 N.. I would love to see an aerial view if you could! Rd 35 to be exact! I love it in this area!
I do offer aerial photography services, but no longer videography as it's much more time consuming.
Are there any largemouth bass in Norfolk lake? How about boat rentals?
Absolutely. Rocking Chair Resort will hook you up with a place to stay as well as a boat. Give them a call, I'm sure they could help you with a guide too if you wanted one.
Thanks for sharing my home.
