Prof. Pant’s maternal aunt ( MAOUSI) was the most celebrated Hindi writer Smt. Gaura Pant, better known by her pen name “ SHIVANI”. Famous journalist Mrinal Pande is his cousin. What an incredibly knowledgeable man you are. Encyclopedia of knowledge.

Akhil you are lucky to get such a great guest on your podcast. The loudness of your voice due to closeness to the mic was overpowering the guest's voice. Nevertheless, always a treat to listen to Professor Pant

It is mandatory that interviewer has done his homework and is able to drive the discussion. It does not mean that the accountability is put on the speaker to speak whatever he can talk. The interview lacks any understanding of history or geography and has no sense of framing sensible questions. He doesn't have any idea about where is Kathiawad or Shantiniketan or where Ratnagiri or Devgarh is. A great oppertunity to extract knowledge from Professor Pant is miserably missed.
I lost it when he said "makool matlab"?

Chilly, tomatoes & Potatoes came from Europe, The Guava with the pink pulp came from Brazil, every other fruit and vegetables came from other countries, firstly surprised to know that without greenhouses, modern methods of farming, how they grew in India, secondly prior to these reaching the indian shores, were we all Indians eating grass. Just read Tamil Sangam literature all this European supremacy of taking credit of introducing us to various fruits & vegetables will be proved to be humbug. Scientifically even today a fruit or vegetable needs appropriate soil, temperature to grow and as such during those days there was no green house, where temperature is controlled, it's next to impossible in those days to grow the same. There is a vast difference in the soil and temperature between Europe and a Tropical country like India. How is it possible that a vegetable like tomato, chilly which is used in almost all the gravies which are cooked in India claimed to be coming from Portugal. We have been fooled in believing all this nonsense by the British historians. Jains who have a history of over 1000 years use basically tomatoes as the base for most of their gravies.

yaar ye food fenku hai ... issue of origin can be settled by dna sequencing ... mirch tamatar aloo brinjal ye solanum se related hai lekin sirf isliye ke solanum yahaan bhi thay ye sab local hai wo kahani toh fiction hai ... haan natural hybriding hui hogi lekin ye sabb dna studies se sabit karna padega ... kuch man made crosses honge

Exactly, Europeans sub claim karte hai woh sub humne he bharat ko diya hai. Bhartiya log is se pehle ghaas kha te they. Sabhyata humari unse kahin saal purani, Mohenjodaro, Harappa, Dholavira ke log ghaas kha te they. Woh toh jub European log India mein aaye toh hum fal aur subzi khane lage. Kya bewakoofi hai, aur hum bina kuch soche samjhe maan bhi lete hain. Humse jyada bewakoof koi nahi hai, humein apne par garv he nahi hai, angrezon jo bhi parosa hum aankh moond kar ke maan liye.

Prof pant is a mahasagar of knowledge on the chapter of food of india but to me it felt like the host lost opportunity to ask good questions. He largely agreed with the prof on everything and only asked cliched questions. The host needs to improve his knowledge to ask better questions.
Pantji ironically left out pahadi pandits who are known to eat meat while listing out the pandits who eat non veg food.😂
