#MarsExpress - Кино
So glad this movie is reaching english-speaking audiences !
I'm french, and animated movies other than kid stuff are a quite rare occurence in french cinema, and are sadly underperforming most of the times.
I hope this will start a change for France as it is very much so now for the English-speaking world.
The director does adult animation though so I knew as soon as I saw his name
When I was cycle touring in France I’d look in the shop windows in little towns and especially book stores and I’d see the best sci-fi covers on children’s books ( young adult ) would love to know what the titles were.
I thought this was an anime until I saw the directors name on it
How did it do in France?
Can a robot write a symphony? Can a robot turn a canvas into a beautiful masterpiece?
“Can you?”
YES
i wasnt built...programmed for that.
With the correct training, yes.
The question is, can humans?
@@NoHope-WhatSoEver answer is yes, humans can
Already seen it three times when it came out last year in France! It's a f*cking masterpiece, don't miss it. Tons of ideas per minutes, it never thinks the viewer is an idiot who needs to be explained everything he see, in fact the movie trust 100% the intelligence of his audience. And a solid police investigation story, with some philosophical elements built on it! Don't miss it!
Cool
Is it just like Ghost in The Shell (1997)?
@@vincentphilip9712: I'm not good in english so, please, copy my text and make the translation with a translator.
Bon visionnage.
is there anyway to watch it from some page or anything?
@@vincentphilip9712 In the same vein, yes. At the level of the best Ghost in the Shell episodes
Atmosphere and story look really good. French sci-fi has always been pretty cool, especially with stuff like Crisis Jung, Immortal Ad Vitam, and Chrysalis. It's good to see more French sci-fi crop up becuase we're sorely in need of more of it.
Same crew than crisis jung! I highly recommand by the same team "Lastman", its a wonder, there is two season of it, and a comics!
@@user-bm5hq4ci5t Ah definitely makes sense! Also thanks for the recommendation of Lastman, I've had that on my watchlist for some time -- I just need to get around to watching it.
don't forget Snowpiercer!
Hmm you look familiar, are you William Usher?
"Hey! You human..?
Human or robot?"
That put Chills through my spine
"Do you identify as human?"
"Negative, I am a meat popsicle."
It's from Ireland during the troubles: "Catholic or Protestant"
@@tauIrrydah Ah. I never really understood what The Troubles were actually about, to be honest. Was it Ireland just not liking Britain? Was it some kind of religious thing?
@@BioGoji-zm5ph pretty much both
Dude, you need to get out more.
Man I love these "Ai vs human genre with a lovable Ai sidekick" genre
Watched it in a local cinema in France; knew the director from Crisis Jung etc, and daaaaamn, the storytelling delivers. The theme (transhumanism) may not be new, but it's masterfully used. I'd say you got to see it more like a "noir" movie, where all the puzzle pieces fall into place in the end.
Saw this at Animation is Film 2023 - immaculate craftsmanship, intense action - a worthy successor to the Blade Runner genre. Any animation/sci-fi fan needs to see this.
Getting some serious Ergo Proxy vibes. Which is definitely a good thing.
I couldn't put my finger on it until you said it! That and Blade Runner Black Out.
Loved that anime.
Also Armitage III.
ergo proxy mixed with ghost in the shell for sure. man ergo proxy was such a good series.
Ergo proxy was awesome. This trailer is reminding me of Metallic Rouge anime it also takes place on mars at first.
Ghost in the Shell having all these newcomers paying homage. ❤
Always funny how all the stuff Ghost in the Shell borrows/imitates/steals from Isaac Asimov, William Gibson, Blade Runner, and Neal Stephenson never gets acknowledged by its fans, but whenever anything vaguely cyberpunk comes out they're quick to call it an imitator of GitS. Very amusing. 😆😆
@@Turd_Rocket Ghost in the shell caught more people's attention with all those ideas rolled into one creating something unique, which alot of popular sci-fi "stole" from
@@jackcarver5412 So let's move the goal posts from "originality" to "mass appeal" and "influence". You seriously want to claim Ghost in the Shell had more influence than Isaac Asimov, William Gibson, and Blade Runner?
You're dreaming, stranger.
I was thinking Ghost in the shell too
@@Turd_Rocket I think it compared to Ghost in the shell because this is animation reminds everyone of it.
Incredible art style, dialogue, and plot. i cannot believe this is a French animated film. well done. 10.10
Have you seen Arcane League of Legends Show?
I caught this at a local film festival and very glad I did, absolutely worth the watch
Looks good! Getting obvious Bladerunner, Armitage, iRobot, etc vibes but tons of movies have similarities with others and this looks like it has its own ideas so I definitely wanna see it
Put Pluto to the list hahaha
Oh wow,,,, might want to turn those vibes down a notch before it becomes unseemly....... 🙄
Holy crap somebody besides me that remembers armitage.
@@jeremygregorio7472 lol, unfortunately
You're forgetting the original, ghost in the shell
Its so frustrating that the only movie theater that's playing this movie "near me" IS 30 MILES AWAY
That's really close. lol.. You can drive there in 30 minutes.
Hope it is as good as, Pantheon!
Damn, too many people don't know about Pantheon. Shame. Re-watched it the other day, for the second time. :) Very good sci-fi.
@@JaniMelender Nothing will ever be as good as Pantheon
Watch other works of Jeremie Perin! This is his first shot at sci-fi, but his previous works speak for themselves. Lastman was what convinced me to watch and read french animations and comics. This movie had a limited release here in Korea last year and it was absolutely worth the trip to go out to the theatre that was actually playing this!
Also loved Pantheon. Hope American animation can figure itself out soon.
Pantheon is one of the best animated shows ever.
I tried to watch it, but Amazon prime keeps removing it from their service
this looks so good!!
Local film festival just showed this and it was great, lots of cool and interesting ideas packed in there. Definitely one to watch!
Missed this when it was in a local film festival, i'm glad it's getting a wider release!
Yesss!!! Theatrical release! Let’s gooooo!
The most fascinating and beautiful sci-fi film and animation experiment of the past decade. Imagine combining all your favorite sci-fi movies like "The Matrix," "Terminator," "Blade Runner," and "Total Recall" into one, infused with the anime vibes of "Paprika" and "Ghost in the Shell," along with the creative brilliance of comic geniuses like Moebius and Jodorowsky. This incredible, unique masterpiece is what "Mars Express" delivers. Honestly, I haven't come across such an intriguing plot, captivating characters, and a well-balanced combination of humor, thriller, mystery, and science in one place for a long time. It's a must-watch movie, an absolute gem that I'm certain will become a cult classic for future generations. Immense, unparalleled, truly a 100% perfect movie. I loved it!
This film is going to fly under everyone's radar but this really is one of the Best Films of 2024!
looks gorgeous!
Saw it a few month back, it's such a good movie, very well paced with lots of details, it's a very dense story that makes you feel like it's a 2 hour movie when it really lasts only an hour and a half, it's very good
This looks super intriguing! Excited to watch it.
Have just watched it today
Fantastic, mind blowing, jaw dropping every second of 1 and a half hours
Thank you for making it!
Looks good!
It's an incredible movie. The shots are out of this world and the story is fascinating!
LOOKS GREAT !
Reminds me of:
The Second Renaissance Part 1&2
excellent stuff, been keeping an eye on this one.
This looks so dope!
Saw this yesterday. A really great movie! Solid story and a fantastic setting. And I really liked the characters.

It is thought provoking!
oooo, like the art style and animation for this.
looking forward to it
Наконец-то дождались! Жереми, спасибо!
This looks fantastic!!!!
Very nice graphic interpretation of 80s and 90s design colors and line ediiting. I am not so sure about the story, but I will probably see it just for the graphics.
weird, it's the opposite for me. story looks great, but the graphics look dull and flat.
Hopefully I'll be able to watch this in theaters. Looks intriguing.
This looks great
This looks incredible.
Definitely gonna be waiting for this one
Ohhhhh yiss will watch.
Woooah. This looks incredible.
Looks pretty amazing.

This looks amazing, and I'm not talking about the graphics (though they do too). On my list to see.
That looks very interesting and promising
This looks very interesting. I do like the animation style too. Will keep an eye on this one.
Looks great.
Looks great, loving the influx of adult animated Sci-Fi. Also Jérémie Périn has worked on amazing things in the past so I am very excited!
Watched it Viennale last year. This movie is amazing!
Been following Jeremie Perin since Truckers Delight and the DyE video, psyched about this, very talented individual.
Trailer was done well, show looks exciting
How am I already in love? 😊
Looks PERFECT
I have no idea what I just saw but I have to admit I was hooked.
Been waiting for this for aaages!
1:01 Okay! This information might not be very interresting for most of normal people, but the keyboard looks like a Typematrix one...
Oh Snap, getting Animatrix vibes. dang.
Very cool 😮
This story/topic's been told many times but damn this does look very well directed and stylized
Reminds me of reading the comic 2000AD when I was a kid back in the 70s.
Even though I don't speak French, I would rather watch it with subtitles vs. English dub any day.
This looks excellent. Where is it showing?
Bruhh💎🔥🙏🏻
I want to watch this
Looks dope
This is looking good whatever it is, need to learn more
Ok this looks good

Getting a scanner darkly GitS vibe. 😮😮😮
GITS meets iRobot. Niceeeee! Looks stunning!
Looks great. Love the art style on the faces and the animation looks smooth. Reminds me a bit of Pluto in its concept. And Blade Runner, obviously.
"Rotten Tomatoes Indie" sounds like "We're NOT mainstream entertainment, we're just your trusty humble opinion platform".
Wow. Who made this? My kind of movie. Like ghost in shell meets blade runner! Gonna watch!
Feels VERY Animatrix. I am excited.
We were about due for an updated take on ghost in the shell
