Alert: S-70 Okhotnik Stealth Bomber Drone Spotted Over Ukraine? Western Radars Can’t Detect It!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 18 июл 2023
- The S-70 Okhotnik is a formidable stealth drone, designed to carry a variety of air-to-surface missiles and bombs within its concealed body, minimizing its radar signature. Its unique design allows for covert operations without the need for external weapons pylons. The drone's blended wing-body horizontal configuration, reminiscent of the renowned B-2 bomber, further enhances its stealth capabilities and may provide additional capacity for heavier payloads. This sleek design, free from protruding structures and sharp angles, significantly reduces its radar visibility, making it a challenging target for ground-based air-defense systems.

Sorry, but I just can't imagine this being a remotely logical tactic. Russia has already proved that their "advanced technology" is 2 decades behind the West. Russia only has one real electronics supplier and it's a state run company that isn't very good. The SU-57 drawback so far has been the round thrust vectoring engine nozzles, which make the aircraft easier to detect. But they've now developed square thrust vectoring engine nozzles and begun installing them on the aircraft which should significantly increase the stealth capabilities. As you can see in this video, the S-70 also currently has a round nozzle, while the schematics of the same drone feature a stealthy nozzle. It might be that the same design as on the SU-57 will be implemented on the S-70 as well.
I think they should do it in elliptical shape to suit the shape of the air plane.
And the new Su-57 gen 2 has completely smoothed surfaces and a RAM coating reducing RCS and reducing detection distance head on.

@@davidburke5782 I don't know the exact production number, but I would say do they need them? They are not in a war with the West (yet) and against Ukraine their Gen 4 Flankers are more than enough. Russia cant produce the Su-57 to the numbers of the F-35
There are a lot of comments that miss the real point of stealth. Stealth does not mean undetectable. Low detectable to some extent, but all stealth aircraft are detectable by radar. Specifically, stealth technology does not work particularly well against low frequency radar. So the real advantage for stealth aircraft is that it is very difficult to get a radar lock on them. Radar lock needs high frequency radar and stealth works pretty well in reducing radar returns to high frequency radars making radar lock difficult. The question then is how stealthy do you need to be. Russian stealth technology is definitely inferior to US stealth but Russians emphasize building planes that are highly maneuverable while US expects to win in BVR engagements. We’ll see which works out better at some point, perhaps.
American stealth has never been tested against brand new Russian air defense systems... particularly the S-400, and the upcoming S-500. Stealth will not work against those at all.
Absolutely true mate 👍👍👍

That "Ohotnik" drone is not stealth... Particular problem is engine exhaust, that is mounted just like when kids create r/c plane. It is visible by all usable IC devices, even the oldest ones. I once followed 4 airplanes for kilometers, with my CAT S-60 telephone FLIR camera, while it was operational (using this comment, to mention that it was not water and impact resistant, as it was advertised! Water entered easily, and a small impact destroyed it! ). That UAV has a good weight over engine strength ratio, that allows it to carry a lot of ordinance, and if You attach to it some good gliding bombs or cruise missiles, that can be fired far from the target, that's OK, but there is no way to use it as some deep penetrator to the enemy territory, without air dominance. Let's go back to 1999. Yugoslavia, where we downed one (Grounded on our territory) , and damaged the other two F-117 at a time, 25 yrs ago, state of the art, stealth fighters. There are other planes damaged and downed like F-16, B-2, A-10, and some more... we could have done better, but threats from US military generals, towards retaliation to the civilian population stopped us in our effort, even to prevent extraction of the downed pilots (of course, we wouldn't harm them, as we didn't dose 3 guys captured on the ground, that were released in a few days)...In any case, US has "lessons learned", we do also. Some other countries, And blocks of countries - also... Time will show what is more effective and needed... In my humble opinion, stealth aircraft, with their incredible funding, were usable, and made success during the Irak attack only, after that became obsolete. There showed complete potential, in collaboration with false target drones, launched at the same time during first nights, to prevail in the air. Nowadays, tactics and strategy are way different... time will show, in any case... All of us learned something, so we will see. More important by me is how much all of that costs! Some people don't have to eat, some are in credits, economies are falling, because governments invest in stealth and new technologies, frightening their population, while they are living on the yachts, and private islands... War is not that terrifying! Actually it is, but it's unneeded...I was involved 3 times, but it is easier to go, and finish it in a few years, and continue your life, than to suffer all life long, paying someone, for something that You don't understand, and it's unneeded, just that they could make their way of living... ;)
Su-27 and su-35 have intercepted US f-35 so it means US is not ahead from Russia in terms of stealth advancements, f-35 is the US stealthiest fighter aircrafts.
You say using this ohotnik..... Is an escalation. Only the US let's things escalate..... Slava Russia from Belgium.
The bridge in Crimea was considered a terrorist attack on Russian civil infrastructure.
Since it happened before, and Russian response was to bomb Ukraine power facilities, my guess is they could respond with a similar reaction, sending out bombers on Kiev side to destroy power plants and ammo warehouses.
By the way, it isn't a deliberate escalation, but a reaction to an attack on Russian soil with Russian civilians dead.
You are from Belgium, really? You literally owe your freedom to write comments here on RUclips to US "escalation" that defeated Hitler and his henchmen in WWII and then kept Soviet Russian communists from invading Western European countries including Belgium during the Cold War. It was US "escalation" that defeated the Soviet Russians and saved Eastern Europe from brutal and murderous Soviet Russian occupation. It was the Russians who invaded Ukraine without any provocation whatsoever in 2014 when Russia illegally invaded and annexed Crimea and infiltrated Eastern Ukraine. Think about that fact before you accuse the USA of "escalating" conflict against totalitarian states such as Russia, China, and North Korea.
Correct. Russia was provoked even baited into this proxy war by Joe, Boris Johnson and NATO. The clown, comic or comedian was and is too stupid to see it. Russia is 100%. War is complicated, russian troops are so deeply entranched and they had weeks to prepare. itll be bloody and burtal to get trought the different layers of obstacles, but there is a big fat BUTT russia is not capable to fight back to retake positions (or when only marginaly) because of poor logistics, bad communication, lack of training and moral. Those drones in here are fancy but the numbers will be way to little to make a strategic difference, tactically sure tho. Russia has a lot of projects to hype up support for its armed forces (T14, checkmate, T15, those robot thingis, the cal50 resistant armour etccccc) but its all hype for propaganda. The country has a history of ligitimising its political support via military wins (mostly against low pear adverseries, and even against those they took an insane amount of time and people to be able to claim victory) and those weapons are a small win on the homefront but nothing more.
How about the Kerch bridge? How about those big explosions in Crimea, very recently?
If you wanna talk about catastrophical failure just look at the russian invasion :)

Yeah, but how?
I wonder if we'll get some sort of drone carrier aircraft in the near future, since small drones could have a much longer range if they were launched at high altitude.
There already Here.
@@georgepantazis141 No
Russians want to turn some of their SU-57s into drone carriers. (Irl arsenal bird be like)
Like in Starcraft….a giant floating aircraft carrier that unleashes thousands of small drones. That paired with a EW asset to hide its signature as it hunts targets would be a scary sight.
It's to me pretty clear that the future of combat aviation are high-flying fast and stealth "mothership platforms", like an evolution of todays AWACs planes with a dozen of drone operators on board + SigInt and Comm personnel to network battle information from satellites and ground radars.
The "motherships" don't necessarily deploy the drones themselves but rather manage swarms of large ground based Okhotink style drones (and possibly also can deploy a certain number of smaller defensive drones to protect themselves while in flight).
Radar can't detect but it was spotted ! Mindblowing !
It would be interesting to know if the Okhotnik carries an onboard radar, and if so, if it can effectively extend the detection/engagement range of it's parent Su-57.
"...During the flight, the UAV interacted with the Su-57 to test extending the fighter's radar and target designation range for long-range air-launched weapons outside enemy air defence coverage, the MoD reported...." (Jane's 360, Sep 27, 2019, _Russia’s Okhotnik UAV makes first flight with Su-57_ )
a 25 ton drone - without a radar ?
how can you even imagine that ?
Every radar with 10cm wave lenght can detect stealth or stealthy aircraft. Problem is to pin point it.
Thats why mm wave lenght radars have been invented and stealth works in minimising the reflextion of such radars
Yes it was old soviet shortwave radars that saw F-117 in 1999. With reduced reflection, but you cannot have flock of birds flying 700-800Km/h so it was obvious to trained radar operator.
Yes, you have to put 1/4 or better 1/2 of wave length thick coating to consume wave energy. Mm radars were popular on the West while Ussr used sm and ever meter radars. There is also 120 degree reflection, as additional factor, but it doesn't work with long wave radars.
keep in mind passive location systems - you must shutdown all radio emitters
Same valid for U.S. F22 and F35.
the only smart guy in the room
IRST systems placed in various locations around the countryside is how to "see" it. That large open nozzle on the back of this Russian drone is a big Heat signature "Howdy". If you will Notice, our drones similar to this, like the RQ 180 and others, we defuse the exhaust and/or hide it from being seen from below, in where we orient it on the A/C. The exhaust will be on top of rear of aircraft, on the most stealthy planes, with any exhaust having a piece or shelf of extended fuselage underneath it hiding it. A ground heat seeking missile system won't get a lock on it that way.
One up for Russia, agany US says their technology is useless. They were the first to gointo space , walk in space ,first Satellite,
First nuclear power plant. First, nuclear submarines., And on and on.
Russia has no doubt proven they can get to the finish line first a lot of the time, but rarely can they complete the marathon over time. But, this system poses a new kind of threat. Imagine a very large mass production and the utilization of 10 drones per one manned aircraft. This is a big jump for them.

Nie był pierwszym. To bardzo stara koncepcja.
Confirming that before 1943 aircraft didn't have wings! I think you meant "flying wing". Pretty much all aircraft have some sort of wing!
Not at all true. American wasnt first either, but had a flying wing plane called the Avion experimental 1 (Northrop) which flew in 1929. The Horton is the mozt famous...but not first. And anyone who knows about flying wings will also recognize that the American love affair with the design didnt come from Germany as the the B-2 is actually almost exactly the same dimesnions of Northrop's flying wing.

I like the sound you use in your vidios. The tone is fantastic ❤❤❤
Spotting a stealth plane isn't a big deal completing the kill chain is. Detect, track and kill.
I stand to be corrected, I believe the Serbs shot down a stealth 117A in the ninety’s by triangulating cell phone towers and detecting a void in the signal and firing. If this is true the technology cannot be that complex to identify an S 70 drone and shoot down a drone.
Perhaps, but then again, its unmanned, so no loss in manpower and can do whatever manoeuvre that might be hard for a human pilot on board?
Nope, the SAM commander said they got lucky. Their long range radar saw something at less than 20 miles but the fire control radar of the SA-2 did not see anything until the F-117 was inside 12 miles. the plane was at around 10-11 miles when the missile reached it.
Same radar, only F-35, the SA-2 operator would be able to see the plane with his naked eyes before the guidance radar does.
Fluke- F-117's bay doors were open when radar detected it.
Yeah the F117 that got shot down was because the pilots routinely flew the same route against procedure and didn't activate all the stealth features and as someone else said the bay doors were open it was a fault of the aircrew not the aircraft.
@@andrewaustin6369 also if the EA-6B that normally provided jamming had been on station, the radar would have never seen it at all

Sorry, we cannot help that countries want to join NATO. We will not bow to any country that dictates they can't either.
Interesting idea. So the Okhotnik is intended to deeply penetrate enemy airspace undetected and deliver a payload against its target. It will have the ability to fly in tandem with the Felon who while having stealth like capabilities is not fully stealth. This means that while harder to detect, enemy radar would still be able to detect the SU-57. However, the Su-57 is equipped with the technology to allow it to find and engage both the F-22 and the F-35. So the picture I see is as follows:
Russia decides to hit a target, in this case protected by American assets. So they launch their S-70 towards the target. As their S-70 approaches enemy airspace (or just before or sometime after depending on the mission) they launch their SU-57 and send them toward the enemy airspace. If everything works as desired the S-70 delivers its payload undetected, however the payload itself is evident the drone is in the area. As the S-70 makes its way back to Russian air-space, the SU-35 enters enemy airspace where somewhere along the way it meets up with the drone and provides coverage against the F-22 or F-35.
Not a bad plan at all... If it works.
Opponent might be able to spoof or jam satellite that communicate with a drone, so in my opinion it should always be deployed with SU-57. Peer-to-peer communication between jet will be hard to spoof or jam from the ground.
Stealth is largely a meme as soon as ANYONE turns on their radars it's ogre it's like trying to hide a flying broadcasting cell phone tower.
It is tandem flight of manned aircraft and loyal wing man . While wingman will enter enemy territory and deliver the payload . Get out of enemy airspace and will join its defender on their way back.
@@anchorread68 Hmm, we did that with drones and the Longbow back in Afghanistan. At the end of the day if you can spoof or jam a satellite signal, you can do the same with a plane to drone signal.
@@adityagajjar3118 Yes, I get that. But go back and read what I posted and then think it through a bit. The SU-57 can be picked up by radar, the S-70 cannot. So if the SU-57 escorts the S-70 to the enemy airspace then the SU-57 just alerted the enemy radar to start looking for a S-70... see how the wingman logic doesn't always pan out?
this is the future clearly I would think also to a stealth drone interceptor But stealth is more important than everything really

gratitude to the collective West for giving impetus to the development of Russian military technologies.
Still subpar.
A game changer: 16 mini R-77 AAM (similar to CUDA/Peregrine) or 2 Kh-50/ Kab 1500 etc.
Wow N 1 stelth Drone
Wow impresionante bravo Rusia 🇷🇺💪🇦🇷
There are only two S-70 Okhotnik Stealth Bomber Drones in existence.....
And neither of them have been detected to shoot down what more can one ask for😂
@@tu1469yeah they are gonna start mass producing them in 2024 buddy….
and Russia has only two missiles left in their arsenal.
funny how it gets used during victory day month then they will put it away like the t14 tanks
@@crazygamingyt7245it's 2024, so where is the mass production? Sure hope yall can keep it a secret like the U.S does. Not great to unviel a "drone" and not have more than 2.
Even if it were true, we don’t send our latest and greatest over there. We have the tech for sure, we just aren’t sharing it.
A competition no doubt
funny how it looks very similar to US stealth bomber in shape .
Wrong ! it's based on shovel shape.
But not funny why this works so well.
same shape since WW2, Horten Ho 229 prototype, year 1944. The shape follows some physical law, cannot change, only the internal component can be changed.
Physics is the same for everyone
So the american looks like the nazi one
I love this channel than watching milley speeches

Or picture tracking or sound tracking... to target them
That is if you see it on the radar screen first, when you see the picture or hear the sound, you are done.
You say this may be a changing factor in the delicate balance 😂
There is no delicate balance Russia is in total control over the battle.
I am no expert on stealth but this craft has a lot of things sticking out on the top and front that would not help with keeping the radar signature low. Also the engine sticking out of the back as far as it does can`t be good for a low heat signature.
Funny how that stealthy graphic design doesn’t match that actual, real world structure. We can see it.
Do you see a difference between a Su-57 'test prototype' and 'serial production' one?
A lot of sensors on a test prototype, just to collect the info as much as possible, from all directions, so a lot of 'antennas'... The serial ones will be 'slim' and 'flat'...😊
Its specifically designed to protect itself from ground air deffence missiles probably.
@@tankconquerer5428 , it is a 'test prototype', not a serial/production one. It Must to have a lot of antennas, sensors, intakes, etc to Collect all the data how it's working! Like a bug, full of the antennas/sensors/acceptors everywhere on its body... The 'environmental awareness', just to collect what is it around you and 'who are you' in the 'environment'... Nothing more.
Just remember those fighter jets are only as good as the pilot in the seat!
Na just ad more heat seeking misels longer range type.

That exhaust is definately not stealthy...
dude the enemy will be using radar not binoculars lmao🤣

Sometimes you need to use simple logic and common sense bruh😸🙃🤪
@@eeJOKERee many weapons systems can track heat signatures, too.
If western radar can’t see it how was it spotted by the naked eye!
A Horton with a FOAB.
Never mind it has a giant Naked Exposed Jet nozzle Flame Thrower sticking out the rear that glows WHITE HOT on infra-Red.. Just take our word for it, it is stealth lol
And? How close you have to be to see it? In altitude of 5 kms you cant even see the plane, but you think you will see the flame, yeah right. You barely can see it on video that was shoot some dozen meters away from it, but you gonna see it from 5km or more, good joke, By the way ... did you watched the video on infra red so you know? 😁
@@avengerpzcan't be that stealthy if they've got a photo of it and it's been seen.

Western weapons in Ukraine from Leo2 ,himars to stormshadows overall was proven to be ineffective so far against Russian defense hence the failure of the counter offensive by Ukraine, western tech has been captured and their flaws and advantage will surely be scrutinized by Russian experts.
Every weapon system has flaws don't be so negative. The counter offensive didn't fail it is just going slower than desired.
And btw. do you know the kill/death ration of a Leo2(for example) against Russian tanks? .... What do you expect? Do you expect 16 Leo2A6 tanks to win this war? Don't be so negative.
patience!
@@fgm1197 just like the leo2 they considered it as the best tank in the world even the abrams lost to it, underestimating the enemy is the keyword, Germany during ww2 did thesame calling russians as subhumans, that is why Germany was crushed and their soldiers were paraded in the streets of moscow.
Well the strikes on russian bases today say otherwise don't they lol
Put your money where your mouth is . Russian air defences can barely take down HIMARS rockets much less storm shadow . Why do you think so many Russians military bases are bring BBQ’d ? Stop chatting garbage and remember propaganda does not win on the battlefield. Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦
@nasha5292 Lol no matter how strong their orc army is they are subhumans. They rape, murder and loot. They haven't evolved a bit the last 80 years.

Doesn't look like a stealth shovel to me
US sent the switchblade drones to Ukraine in the beginning of the war. Russia took the idea and mastering this idea carving holes in the ukraine counteroffensive
LOL... You mean they bought some from 3rd World Iran.

B2b was wisible on radar and one was shoted down B2b ( Spirit of Missury) 1999.on NATO agresion on Serbia by Serbian Anty Air Defense with S-125 NEVA, same batery who shoted down F-117 A , this batery of Serbian AAD was shoted down and F-16 C ,plain wich pilot was be David Golfride, now US four star General and chef of staf of U.S.A.F ! Only white nation and only Europin country who defited NATO was Serbia ! No one can shoted down S-70 Ohotnik or Rusian Suhoy and Mikoyan Gurevic airplanes !
No B-2 have ever been shot down. 1 crashed on takeoff, 2 are undergoing repairs due to damage on landing
In your dreams, low life!
Think you mean the f-117, which is not in service anymore. Considering Russias drone has only been shown once, and they have less than 5, I'd imagine they are not going to put into the position where it can get shot down.
Sorry to say both of your examples have been shot down, though for the third one, I'm not sure what model you are talking about.
Why won’t Biden allow Ukraine to negotiate peace?
Peace ?? Nope..Nahh.. no profit for war monger's..
Won't won't Russian return all the stolen land to Ukraine?
money money money hello money in the political world.
Idk maybe nobody wants to lose land
It's not the US, its Ukraine and can you blame them? If you lost a quarter of your house would you not want it back?
America invented and continues to perfect stealth systems do not underestimate their ability to detect, lock onto, engage and destroy lesser as well as more advanced stealth technologies.
There sure are a lot of protruding surfaces for a stealth drone….
Plus there seems to be no effort to minimize the engines exhaust.
The only RCS angle that matters is the the weapon approach angle.
If my memory serves me correctly, back during the Iraq conflict we had smart bombs that would attack radar installations, seems we could develop a system that would target their jamming systems just just the same in my opinion.
It be great if the other party strengthen their technically accum nd upgrade the current system to be more lethal make it sure that you keep on spending substantial amount on toys as the U.S can't stand competition.
It's safe to assume those bombs were smarter than people writing comments on youtube nowadays,.
Antiradar missiles from SEAD aircraft, they target the radiowaves
It's called home on jam, missiles as far back as the Phoenix missile had them, so does the AIM-120 and all of the US Anti-radiation missiles
Just about everybody already has that

a swarm of carbon fiber wing with oxygen mask pilot and cheap jet could reach high altitude , still cost less than single fighter seems like they need drones or back to machine guns but the with mg the swarm could take on the expensive jets imo....
