    There is no good reason for bike parts to cost as much as they do. This is why it is becoming a sport for the rich. If the underprivileged wanted to buy a bicycle not one of those on your list would be considered. Even middle income, those making between $75k and $125K a year would not choose those bikes. So who are those bikes for? Why are you showing us these bikes? Honestly even that Fairlight Stael asking more than $3K is asking to much for what it is. It's a basic bike that is heavy and can't be used for more than commuting which most people won't pay that for a commuter bike. How in the World can groupsets like 105 or Ultegra justify the asking price. IMO I don't want to see anything new tech wise coming out for the next decade because it's just lifting the prices even higher. I can tell you one thing for sure, I won't be buying any more bicycles new. I don't need disc brakes or electronic shifting to enjoy a bike ride.

    • @larkiess
      @larkiess Год назад +8

      Plenty of high-end bikes are sold. For the plebs like us, a 105 can do the job and be relatively cheap (2-3k). Even going for the super cheap claris road bikes doesn't leave you too shabby.

    The very first bike I got when I moved to VA was this brand of bike however it was only a 21 speed and cost $350 that bike lasted me many years and I never got a flat tire pop chain any type of problem at all. Even when I was writing it a hundred miles a day for three years straight that's 128,000 miles keep in mind it only is 30,000 miles or so to circumference the world. And then I bought a Cannondale lefty Jekyll 1000 for 2500. I had many problems constantly even though I got over 10,000 miles even with the shock not working to the point where my pedals would scrape the ground every once in a while super dangerous even more so when I had 30 pounds or more of groceries in a backpack and I did this because I wanted to demonstrate that it is possible to get all the food and beverages I need for me my daughter and her little half-brother in a earth friendly manner one point is sometimes the cheapest bike the hat on the market outperformed some of the most expensive lightest 24 speeds there is.

    If you're talking about the difference between one year to the next when it comes to modern high end bikes, especially within their own line, or price compatible, using major, extreme, great, huge, are absolutely terms that cannot be achieved, so shouldn't be used. Buy a bike if that's the one you what, and will enjoy, if it inspires you keep riding, as I would love an all Italian specked C68, because if you don't race for a paycheck it doesn't matter, and pros ride what their told..

    It went together easily in less than an hour. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.

      For the disc brake counterpart of the base TCR Advanced (not the Pro or SL version), sometimes there's rotor rub when you pedal out of the saddle. From my experience, using a stiffer rotor could help solve that problem.
