If you get the concept behind it, Moses is supposed to be the kind hearted and friendly good guy just trying to free his people, especially trying to convince Ramses to end the suffering of his own people.

It's amazing how they can turn a biblical story into such an amazing movie, and this song can really prove how powerful the "wrath of the lord" can be

Everything about that movie was a masterpiece. The animation, the music....just incredible.

I love how Jonathan’s voice is deep and demonic which gives him a powerful and deadly vibe, compared to Caleb, whose voice is light and angelic which gives him a soft yet also powerful vibe. It’s beautiful!

From what I've read, “God hardened Pharaoh's heart" was actually a translation error from the Hebrew, it should read “Pharaoh hardened his heart against God." As for the death of the firstborn, remember that when Moses was born the Egyptians had done the same thing to the Hebrews, in no uncertain terms God was telling them, “Let them leave or you will suffer as you made them suffer." For the other points, I don't have much of an answer for that, faith ain't always pretty.

Hitting those notes like gods
Can we just talk about for a moment, how they both embodied the characters from the movie with perfection? Caleb played Moses from the movie with pure accuracy. Using his grief for hurting his brother on behalf of someone else, in his facial, and body gestures, even mouthing no over and over when Jonathan was playing his part. And on topic of Jonathan, his voice was perfect for the role of Ramesses. The cruel, and evil parts of him in the movie are shown perfectly. His movements are pure gold on top of it. I'm not religious in any way, but oh my gosh, this movie, and the song, is gold. (I'm well aware this video is quite old all things considered, but I'm in awe anyways)

I think the reason why this song always gives me chills, no matter if its a metal version or the original is because, in essence it a song of ultimate judgement. Judgement being one of the strongest feelings one can possibly experience.
I was ten when this movie came out. It was the greatest masterpiece my young mind could comprehind at the time. I cried so hard at this scene. All the hate and love and betrayal in one song. Too much for a little kid.

In the movie, when Ramses says, "Nevermind how high the cost may grow, this will still be so, I will never let your people go," he says the word "go" very harshly, in a staccato way where he doesn't drag the note at all. It's very finalizing and fits his character well, but growing up with the movie, I always sung it holding onto the note, and wondered what it would sound like if they had done so in the movie. Jonathan did a fantastic job of it here. Love this whole cover, one of my favorite songs of any movie for sure.

I am agnostic and I love this fuckin movie.
I'm the exact same way. I grew up with this movie and it just has a place in my heart.
Also an atheist, and I don't think its just nostalgia. I think its just a really good movie. Some silly parts, but Dreamworks did a damn good job turning a tired story into a fantastic film for all ages.
I'm a christian and I love this movie. I suggest it for everyone, Christian or not. Hella good movie.
