I disagree on your 'no shields' policy. First, getting the -1 shield HALVES the chance of ancients hitting you. This is not a minor thing for a 2/2 cost technology. Second, you say that shields are only useful if people build computers on their ships. But in 99% of the games, the enemy HAS computers. (For most species, a +1 computer comes preinstalled on their cruisers & dreadnaughts, and all Ancients and the GCDS has them.) Also, almost everyone thinks computers are awesome, so lots of people buy computers. Third, if you have shields, a missile barrage is less likely to cripple you. Once those missiles are expended, the enemies' major attack is gone. Which means the enemy starts saying, "If I attack HIM with shields, I better get lucky. Where as if I attack HER without shields, I'll likely wipe her out. I'll attack HER!" If you argued that computers are more important than shields, I would have no beef, but discounting shields completely (or almost completely) seems short sighted. I think the key tech in the early game is: The -1 Shield, the Plasma Cannon, and the 2 Hull. With any one of these tech (and a couple ships), you are ready to take out an early Ancient. With any two of these tech, your single ships have a decent chance of defeating Ancients. An Ancient killed early is a big deal since you get the early (and therefore better) reputation tiles, and have more turns to enjoy the defeated Ancient's system economic upgrade(s). After those three, a better computer and a power upgrade are my next priority. Looking forward to seeing the video on the Discovery tiles: Ancient-ship-parts upgrades. Warm regards, Rick.
Stellaris music, perhaps? Not sure but it sure sounds like it, which is the perfect choice. This feels like Stellaris the Board Game edition. (And better than the Crusader Kings game...)
Please do more Eclipse videos!

Thanks for the video! In the rare techs section, I think you forgot Antimatter Missile.

Your strategies are interesting. I'd love to try playing against you lol.
