      Also the notable differences between the farplane and lifestream is the color or lacktherof, the farplane is bright pink & blue and vibrant suggesting its dense and rich, the life stream is garish and sickly green as if depleted. There's a curious effect/illusion between Pink and Green if you stare at a bright green or pink dot then look elsewhere you'll see the opposite.

    • @mattwo7
      @mattwo7 11 месяцев назад +1

      The lifestream is Gaia's lifeforce. The Farplane is just Spira's underworld. Spira is _NOT_ Gaia. Gaia doesn't even have Fiends or unsent, no sending ritual, materia lacks tons of features that spheres have, the Al Bhed don't exist and it's the Wutai the people are being tricked into being racist toward instead for completely different reasons. There's so many discrepancies, it's not even funny.

      Hey Final Fantasy virgin. It's common in Final Fantasy games to use same names and themes in each game. Wait until you realize that Bahumut has been in every Final Fantasy since 1 or Chocobos since 2. Oh my god they are all connected!!! 😂God I hate zoomers. Especially rtard fgs with pronouns in their profile. The only games that have a connection (Besides obviously x,x-2 and the xiii trilogy) are the games set in Ivalice which are Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story.

    According to the Ultimania guides, which are official books released by Square, in interviews done to the creators of these games, they reveal that Shinra with Rin's help did develop the technology to syphon energy from the farplane, years later, Shinra's descendants would develop space travel and and go from Spira to Gaia. While both games happen in the same universe, they don't take place in the same planet. According to the interview, the time lapse between the events of FFX-2 and FFVII is another 1000 years. While the connection is already confirmed, this created other theories that are yet to be confirmed or denied afaik: are the Spirans who traveled to Gaia the actual Ancients? and another theory that states that Jenova could be a Sin spawn that somehow ended up in space and evolved into a new life form

      @RUclipsIdiot-oj2zt In the radio play that Nojima wrote, FFX-Will, it's revealed that the Farplane has become unstable and Sin has returned, causing Yuna to pledge to defeat it once again. It was meant to set up the plot for FFX-3, which they want to make at some point, and *seems* to imply that Sin might actually be a sort of Weapon that Yu Yevon was just controlling, not creating. The Weapons in FF7 Rebirth also look a lot like Sin.

    The fact that Shinra always emphasized "I'm just a kid" in his dialogues suggested that he might grew up to be a very important figure in the history of that world. Whether SE intended it to be an easter egg or a joke, that picture in FFVII:Remake pretty much confirmed that the founder of Shinra Inc when it was initially just Shinra Manufacturing (a small weapons company) was Shinra, still wearing his favorite mask. And don't forget, Shinra (as a kid) had the idea of tapping into the Farplane (FFX-2), and eventually many years later, Shinra Inc tapped into the Lifestream (FFVII) and found Mako as a energy source.

    To be exact, Shinra actually fails to harness the power of the Farplane. But Nojima implies (and later directly states) that his descendants would found the Shin-Ra Company we know in FF7. So yeah, he basically states that FF7 and FFX exist in the same universe.
    But he would later say that it was a bit of a joke. The FF7 references were somewhat unintentional. Well, a few were intentional, anyway.
    "This story is a bit of a joke. When we created FFX-2, we wanted to create something, a totally new world. Except that when I created it, I realized that it looked a lot like FFVII... Once there he expected to find another farplane but instead found the lifestream, though a different element, it resulted in being more useful that the farplane energy. Shinra didn't know it at the time but the planet was already inhabited by the Ancients, of which a few of it's race once long long ago sought to travel the stars and were never heard from ever again. The lost one would eventually establish the original Zanarkand, and met their doom once their technology became too advanced.
    Centuries would pass, not having learned from the catastrophe of the once great city of Zanarkand, Shinra Corp grew to become a new technological conglomerate, that would eventually lead into the events of FFVII...

  • @djramshead
    @djramshead 5 месяцев назад +1

    Many many fan theories when X-2 introduced the direct connections. My favorite was that Spira’s planet was dying, so Shinra’s descendants harnessed the Farplane’s mako energy to power space traveling ships and colonized the nearby Gaia. Unbeknownst to some of the travelers, some of the Al Bhed smuggled the fayth of aeons. Remember how Yojimbo was stolen from his temple and hidden in a cave. The fayth brought to Gaia were not necessarily the summons we were aware of in game since there must be many more summons in the world with how many summoners repeated the process to defeat Sin. So these fayths brought to Gaia became the Weapons - Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond and Ultima.

  • @ManuFortis
    @ManuFortis 3 месяца назад

    I think what X was in a way, was kind of like IX; it was a homage to the series predecessors in a way. IX has easter eggs referencing past entries, and well, so does X with VII. Also, one has to consider the idea that they also tend to reuse names and characters almost entirely but with a twist. Like with Cid, or Biggs and Wedge.
    Personally, back when I was playing the games, I was trying to see if they were trying for some sort of multiverse thing, with the planet itself being at different points in time combined with the multiverse where the other games that are too far spun off exist instead with their own versions of planet.
    Another thing to consider is the release time of X and XI respectively. They were basically worked on at the same time. And so elements of each are going to end up in each, potentially at least. Good example of this is Sonic 2 and Sonic CD, with Sonic 2 orginaly going to have time travel in it; which ended up only being a thing in Sonic CD. This happened, despite being worked on in two separate locations on the globe at the time with two different directors.
    That all said, I do like that they made these references to VII, because the idea that some of these games are connected in some way, is a nice thing to have with long running series like this. It establishes a serial lore, instead of a ... what's the term... well I forget, but it's a term for tv shows that always have a resolution at the end of each episode so that a viewer can always watch any episode without needing to watch the others. Originally, FF was supposed to be like that. You could pick up any, and not have played any other, to understand each story. That's nice in its way. But having that building up of lore is also nice, in its own way, as shown by games like Legend of Zelda, which also was supposed to be the same way as prior stated. Originally.
    So aside from potential attempts to establish such a lore base mechanic, which they have attempted again in some aspects with current games I should mention...
    It was mostly homage at the time, I think, because of how they were going from one style of graphics to another, much like how they did from the end of the Snes games, to the PS1 games. IX represented the Snes games, and X represented the evolution from the PS1 games.
    What better game to pay homage to in that regard, than VII?
    Anyone who made it this far, thanks for reading.

      It's Nojima.
      And technically he pronounced it incorrectly.
      It's a short "o" sound, like "stop" rather than a long "o" sound like "snow", giving it a different meaning.
      If you don't believe me that the difference between a short-o and a long-o doesn't change the meaning of a word, say the sentence "There's snow on your nose" out loud except say the word snow with a short-o sound.

    Specific development teams inside of Square Enix have always had noticable connections in their entries. Sort of like how Call of Duty has 3 teams.
    The team responsible for 9 also did 12 and 14, which you can see by how they develop mini maps, medieval architecture and character design. The 7 team did 7, 10, 13 and 15 which is noticable by many ways as well such as color palette and industrial inspiration / mechanical entanglement with nature.
    Gets more and more obvious if youve played all of them, you can kind of get the sense of which series of artists worked on it. Wonder what other seemingly hidden connections are lying around out there.

    you guys would be ever more amazed too know that 14 is between 10 and 7, 10 being the prequel to the chronology (notes from ff7 shinra electric power company was a force of soldier who once reigned as an empire (which empire the garlean ofc) if you pay attention to the story of 14 there are many hints at them having a power still no one is yet to know of (aswell as being the origin of weapon - diamond, emerald etc) and in the end im only gunna assume that 14 will leave the planet and head to gaia (which would also link 7 - 10 -14 to ff 5) as we know there are 2 planets and currently 10 and 14 are not on the same one as 7 and given that we now have a space ship and a moon vessel to transport a sizeable colony we could see the remaining garleans flee ff14 eorzea for the planet gaia thus kicking into motion what will eventually be the ever crisis of 7

    I always thought shinra was a descendant. That sin was an embodiment of the lifestream AFTER all the ff7 events and games on a bad ending of sorts. Like lifestreams corrupted, sin comes. The souls of the dead get absorbed into the lifestream but due to soooooo many dying so fast the farplane happens. Materia is reabsorbed, and the descendant of mako infused/infected become "summoners" due to the links to the lifestream/farplane. The al behd were the remaining descendants of shinra corp. Who else would figure out the machina and not give a shit about holy taboos. But that was much younger me pre stoner days 😅

    Not only that, but originally, FFX was going to have the Buster Sword as one of Tidus’s weapons, but it was cut during development. If the buster sword’s programmed in, Tidus would use the back hand of the Buster Sword.
    Interestingly enough, Angeal and Zack uses the back hand of the Buster Sword in Crisis Core.
    So… X might have influenced VII in just a bit.

    Important to note: Its not FFX that is connected to FFVII. Its FFX-2. And i dont think many of us consider that game canon. Not due to the usual hate - dont get me wrong. Personally i enjoyed it for what it was.
    But FFX-2 opens the door to the audio dramas. And those seem to be designed from the ground up with the express purpose of destroying everything we loved about FFX and its legacy.
    It is hard to argue for FFX-2 being canon without also making those canon. And that is a price few of us are willing to pay.
    Hence the FFVII link, to me, is entirely fan fiction.

    Shinra says, “There’s all this energy in the planet, maybe one day we could harness this”, which is probably referring to Mako in FF7. The farplane energy would be the lifestream. Most likely FF7 is also set in Spira, just way in the future from FFX.
