If only Amy was given the time to record a cover of this song. I hope Amy Winehouse and Mary Weiss will both sing this song together in heaven. Angels picked them for a friend. And that’s called sad.
THIS IS THE SHANGRI_LAS - with photos of Amy Winehouse. The original lead vocals have been eq'd out. The only thing of Amy on this IS the photos...nothing more. .... and thats called SAD.!
This is Shangri-Las vocal. This is a tribute to Winehouse's contribution to knowing what the music of the '60's was about. She lived there in her mind. If you totally immerse your mind in that kind of cultural change, you can find yourself being totally absorbed...it was an enlightening time, yet, it was also a very difficult time. I got chills listening to this....my mom passed in April....
I fell in love with Amy's voice the first time I heard her... I am 67, and knew the Shangri-las in 1963. Mary Ann Ganser use to come to my house in Queens, with my baby sitter, She was 15, I was 10..She died when i was in high school, 1970. My first love.
“I love the drama. I love the atmosphere. I love the sound effects. And they wrote the most depressing song ever: “I Can Never Go Home Anymore.” When me and my boyfriend finished, I used to listen to that song on repeat, just sitting on my kitchen floor with a bottle of Jack Daniels. I’d pass out, wake up and do it again. My flatmate used to come in, leave bags of KFC and just leave. She’d be like, ‘There’s your dinner, I’m going out.’ It’s the saddest song in the world.” Amy Winehouse ~ Amy Winehouse: The Day She Came to Dingle
I once heard that she listened to this song on repeat the day she drank herself to death... Dont know If thats true, but i can totally believe that after that comment of yours. Rip Amy ❤
I love this! I'm a huge fan of Amy's, and was devastated when she passed away. So much talent, and beauty! But, she will live on through her music ... R.I.P. AMY!!
Amy Winehouse was an absolutely magnificent talent. So, so rare. Her death was an absolute tragedy, for her, her family and for the world of music. She was one of a kind.
What a Great Vibration are Planet lost. Your voice was Unbelievable. You left your present with some beyond beautiful music. may your soul be with Angel's singing all around you. your are very missed. thank-you Andrea Vlasis
Amy showed good taste in liking those girl groups back in the 50's and 60's. And she sounded as good or better then most of them. We missed you Amy back in the 50's and 60's, but it was a thrill to see that even todays generation on rare occasions can be as good or even better like AMY as the great girl groups of the late 50's and early 60's, yet Amy didn't stop at the early 1960's as she did songs by The Shangra'La's of the mid 60's. Did she do any of the Supremes songs? I bet AMY could have left the Supremes standing in a trail of her dust if she wanted to.
No, it is the Shangri Las singing... Amy Winehouse was a huge fan of their music and more so their writer/producer George "Shadow" Morton. Only makes sense that there would be something with them together. :-) Perfect!! R.I.P. Amy and dad! Hope they have crossed paths and are making music together, finally!
Two of the great loves of my life, Amy & The Shangri Las. The scene in Back to Black where Blake mimes Leader of the Pack in the pub on their first meeting just bust my mind!
EXTRAORDINAIRE AMY I LIKE IT LOVE IT ton ame est toujours là parmi nous parce qu"on t"aime !!!! I CAN NEVER I CAN NEVER !!!! MAMA MAMA !!!!!! PERFORMANCE AMY ETERNELLE ET GRANDE !!!
Just listen to Back To Black. It's very inspired by this song, esp. the "calm" middle-part towards the end. Live she often sang the lyrics of "Remember Walking In The Sand" during this part. But it owes more to "I can never go home anymore". "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" is one of the few cover-versions - sung by Amy Winehouse - that is better than the original track.
Love her style plus her singing is like the blues & it’s a drag that anither great talent has gone again it seems it’s get worse and worse thgt it was supposed to get better it did for awhile then something strange happened that I don’t even believe it’s straight out of a Steven King book.
Its the Shangri-La's.....If you watch Amy's concert from Dingle...she talks about this song, how she loved it.....even quotes this song, in an American accent...its quite erie......really......................"And that's called sad"........
What a HOT woman!!! I heard that she used to play her brothers guitar. Then she brought her own guitar. People will remember Amy, but who was her brother?
AMY was so much more HOT and TALENTED then Marilyn Monroe. Yet Ms. Monroe will go down in history as being greater and SEXIER then Amy. AMY was sexier then Marilyn and more talented. Life is strange.
Well this just sucks! Sampling The Shangra La's and massacring the arrangement is just an awful way to pay tribute to Whinehouse and an insult to the Shangra La's not to mention the song writers.
+KOALABEARSONGS, BMI NASHVILLE, TN It's only a 50 year old teen aged tin pan alley sob song. I doubt many Amy fans have heard it, though it clearly inspired "Back to Black".
+Lenny Schafer While I agree that it is inspirational, it is hardly "ONLY" anything. It is a classic pop song and it will be played and rediscovered for generations to come. Additionally, a "tin pan ally " song is hardly anything to discount. I think you underestimate the social importance of Pop music, you certainty did with this comment. Seems I've seen a video of Amy doing "Will You love me Tomorrow"...another one of those "tin pan ally teen sob songs".......I think you are missing the point of what classic pop music was about, and the impact it had on our modern world. Just my opinion...Peace.

Amy was a HUGE fan of the Shangri-Las and she LOVED this song.
Who wouldn’t love this song? I’m pretty sure Amy liked it in its original form, without the vocals cut out, even more..
Lmfao😂
Hahahaha... indeed... That's called SAD :<
But your reference made me GLAD :">
Amy can never go home Anymore And that's called Bad
I love Amy Winehouse, She reminds me of the 60's....I knew The Shangri-Las in 1963. Especially Mary Ann Ganser. Great music that will never fade away.
RIP Mary Weiss

My favorite Shangri Las song...RIP Amy
Oh what a beautiful invention and performance. I can't help mysef at 68; I just can;t stop tearing. I love you Amy; you are so tender and talented

No one sings it like she did!
❤❤

Nice Winehouse tribute. You can never go wrong with a soundtrack supplied by the Shangri-Las.
Amy Winehouse was an absolutely magnificent talent. So, so rare. Her death was an absolute tragedy, for her, her family and for the world of music. She was one of a kind.
Amen
She was a copycat.
Amy Winehouse was a big fan of The Shangri-Las
Understandably so ! ! !
As was uh Joey Ramone? apparently according to the guy from Rancid, Tim Armstrong who covered "Heaven only knows".
No shit Sherlock
R.I.P. Mary Weiss and Amy
What a Great Vibration are Planet lost. Your voice was Unbelievable. You left your present with some beyond beautiful music. may your soul be with Angel's singing all around you. your are very missed. thank-you Andrea Vlasis
I honestly thought Amy did a cover of this. That would have been beautiful, no doubt.
+Vincent Mangano Sounds a lot like "Back to Black". Both songs were dirge style.
I that would of been amazing.. I can picture it
I love her and her music...
May God take good care of her !!

Yes she was a rare talent but don't sell those great group of yesteryear short without them there wouldn't be these performers of today
great pictures of a true star
Thank you for not posting loads of horrible photos. Amy was a true badass!
Really?
In what part of Brooklyn was you dad raised?
Two of the great loves of my life, Amy & The Shangri Las. The scene in Back to Black where Blake mimes Leader of the Pack in the pub on their first meeting just bust my mind!
Te Amo hermosa es tu canción favorita..💔

Hermosa canción la acabo de descubrir 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰👏👏👏👏👏
How come the good ones die ? Amy was a real sweetheart... I knew Mary Ann Ganser, in 1962.

such a vivid image on Amy on the floor crying.
Quintessential American girl band. Such overpowering teenage angst. I loved the SLs & I’m Irish.
Wild brings me here
Te extraño tanto mi hermosa mujer
🖤
“I LOVE DRAMA” amy
My fave
but wait ... this is a brilliant edit
great job!

My God this video and the song are so powerful
R.I.P amy
True to the original; nicely done. 5/2019
😭🖤
All in all, I think that its pretty damn good. This is the internet though, and plenty of people will hate it.
i like it
winehouse should of had been in the 60s.... this was not her era and it's not mine either
Amy You is My life, Dont Go :/

Gone too soon life is absolutely shit at times
❤️❤️❤️
Amy sounds just like Mary Weiss- good job!
It is Mary Weiss singing.
...And that's called sad.
I need the specific name of this version of this song. Where can I find it?
The clue is in the title of this vid.
This version of "I can never go home any more" is sung by the Shangri-Las, from the mid-60s
This ain't no Amy! It's the original by The Shangri-Las! Just credit them FULLY!!
We know. It's in memory of Amy - she loved the Shangri Las
Even although this isn't Amy singing, it's a poignant tribute, nonetheless. Well worked.
She was out there but talented and hot
Love her style plus her singing is like the blues & it’s a drag that anither great talent has gone again it seems it’s get worse and worse thgt it was supposed to get better it did for awhile then something strange happened that I don’t even believe it’s straight out of a Steven King book.
Man I don't wanna downvote a Shangri-Las song, nor do I want to downvote photos of Amy Winehouse...
But the false advertisement here just demands it.
OH MY GOD --WHAT A FIND -----NEVER KNEW AMY DID THIS SONG ------WOW !!!!!!!!!
Its the Shangri-La's.....If you watch Amy's concert from Dingle...she talks about this song, how she loved it.....even quotes this song, in an American accent...its quite erie......really......................"And that's called sad"........
Who's the horse?
Such a waste of awesome talent I miss her
i guess it's the shangrilas not amy~ but i hope she really did the cover
Probably did. It ain’t on internet tho
pretty sure this is Mary Weiss
It is.
I think this video was meant to comment on how Amy became lost in her pathos and left the real world.
Because when she would ignore me, I told her those angles were coming to make friends with me.
RIP Amy.
Such a waste of a fantastic talent.
Never knew that Amy covered this song.
What a HOT woman!!! I heard that she used to play her brothers guitar. Then she brought her own guitar. People will remember Amy, but who was her brother?
sorry just realized .........so sorry
What a damn shame .
this is not Amy singing
AMY was so much more HOT and TALENTED then Marilyn Monroe. Yet Ms. Monroe will go down in history as being greater and SEXIER then Amy. AMY was sexier then Marilyn and more talented. Life is strange.
Clickbait, not even a mashup. Nice audio quality tho. Mama!
why
Damn I thought Any would actually sing this....sad rip off :(
yeah..i would do Mary Weiss before i would do Amy Winehouse...
Well this just sucks!
Sampling The Shangra La's and massacring the arrangement is just an awful way to pay tribute to Whinehouse and an insult to the Shangra La's not to mention the song writers.
+George Penwell well stated! spot on!
