I'm brazilian and I watched all the games of this team. I totally agree with the content, fluidity with the three front men, width with Candy and Roberto Carlos and the backline making the hard work. When Kleberson was chosen to the team, Brazil improved the intensity and movements on the center of the field. Juninho was a great player, but he didn't know to defend and attack with the same efficiency than Kleberson. Great vídeo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great video. This was a great team to watch for so many reasons. Gilberto and Edmilson were kind of unsung heroes in this team back in the day. Absolutely phenomenal players!
Great video, but you've made a mistake. At 1:41 the video shows a picture of Juninho Pernambucano, the one that played for Lyon in the 2000's. He played in the 2006 World Cup, but not in the 2002 WC. The Juninho that played in the 02 team is Juninho Paulista, the one who played for Middlesbrough for years.
If I remember correctly Romario saved their ass in the last matches of qualifiers . But still Scolari didn' t select him for Japan and South Korea due to disciplinary reasons .
One of the greatest World Cup sides of all time!! This side would rank in the top 10, along with Brazil 1970, The Netherlands 1974, and Argentina 1986.
Argentina 1986??? That wasn't a team. It was an individual performance. It's not even Top 20. In fact, I'd say the 2002 Argentina was better TEAM than 1986.
2006 Brazil has more problems than the insertion of Kaka to tip the balance. First and foremost, Cafu should have been replaced by Belletti (as least in the starting lineup). At 36, Cafu no longer has the strength to play intensive and packed games at a WC. This is evident retroactively in the following season of Champions League and Serie A with ACM where Oddo was the first choice since joining mid-season. Carlos on the other hand, is still a reasonable starter at 34. Second, Ronaldinho was too exhausted from his Champions duties and lost of appetite for winning (the latter which also was Ronaldo's situation), this unfortunately coupled with Adriano's drop of form due to (what was not known at the time) depression. Thirdly, going back to the tactical issue raised at the end of the video, the lost of balance. The only different view I had was that instead of dropping Kaka, it should have been either Adriano or Ronaldo being dropped, and instead strengthen the midfield with either Gilberto Silva (pretty much at his best form in his career) or Juninho (not the same 2002 one), depending on the opposition. Having said that, this can still only work if a functioning RB in either Belletti or Cicinho or a young Maicon is starting, and perhaps as importantly, a Ronaldinho with at least 75% efficiency of his performance in the first half of 2006. In the end, that Brazil could have better achievements, but Carlos Alberto was too blinded to make the right decision on Cafu, too reliant on Ronaldinho and Ronaldo, and failing to field Gilberto Silva instead of 2 centre forwards. With this "background", looking back to 2002, it is not difficult to see how Brazil won the title by having a front 3, each capable of singlehandedly overturning the scoring and a once-in-a-life's-time pairing of Cafu and Carlos. While credits must be given to the back 5 for doing their job, it must be acknowledged that, unlike the back 5, the front 5 are strictly irreplaceable.

1:15 I am so glad that you dispelled the myth that the common football fans have that the 2002 Brazil were bound to win the World Cup. Which was not true at all.
I disagree with the ending. Brazil were even better defensively in 2006 with the Juan-Lucio partnership and Emerson-Ze Roberto in midfield. The attack was actually the problem. Ronaldo was past his prime at that point and Ronaldinho was a huge disappointment in that tournament. They only conceded two goals the entire tournament. They lost to France because Roberto Carlos decided to tie his shoe while the best striker in the world at the time was left unmarked in the box on a free kick from one of the greatest players ever.
In the 2006wc Brazils midfield was whack n that was the reason France dominated. Don't blame Ronaldo, there was nothing he could do against that perfectly assembled French team. This is Best collection of players ever assembled for a World Cup match. Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kafu, Roberto Carlos, all in the Soccer Hall of Fame. Two were FIFA players of the year multiple times. United States and African countries like Senegal and Cameroon , as well South Korea and Turkey, made the field normally dominated by Western Europe, Brazil and Argentina, a balanced field of strong teams. This may have been Englands best squad, giving up only three goals during their play, 2 from Brazil. Although Brazil did not always play their best in the preliminary qualification rounds, once the tournament started they showed up. You have take into consideration Europe won the previous World Cup (98), and have won the next four following this 2002 World Cup, where the field of play was truly impartial, not being near European or N/S American soil

@@Mazrati but scolari took a gamble fod the 2014 similar to the 2002,you can see most of the attacks came from ronaldinho similar to 2014 he wanted all the attack to come through neymar but when neymar got injured, oscar was the only one there to cover for him but in 2002 everyone was equally availeble to cover for ronaldinho.
@@matrixchris17 yeah I realize even in the 2018 lost to belgium, belgium was often targetting that left hand side of brazil because ney was tracking back and marcelo was playing as a winger. But congrats to tite for realizing that and switching it to the 4-2-2-2 which looks much better for brazil as neymar and firminio can link up together with one dropping back to link the play while the other stayed higher and even bringing in alex sandro for marcelo who is much better defensively but still pushing high when needed.
The simplest reason why Brazil was champion was presence of Edmilson, Kleberson and Gilberto silva...this three players gave the team strength n all there was no opponent that would dominate Brazil n wen u add the attacking players then the team was perfect. Compare to the 2006wc where the coach opted for the fancy Zeroberto and Juninho... they were no match to Vieira and Makelele which is how France easily dominated Brazil to the point where Ronaldo, kaka n Ronaldinho have to track back as there were no ballls getting to them. The coach panicked n introduced Adriano but still the French were dominating.... it was such an easy match for zidan who afew months before watched Ronaldinho dominate Laliga bcoz Barca had an awesome midfield with Edmilson, Deco, Van Bommel, Motta, Xavi n Iniesta
They were an unknown bunch for 2002. Expectations were low. They did not have a great qualification round at all, finishing just 3 points ahead of the intercontinental playoff spot, and then in the 2001 Copa America, they lost to Honduras in the quarter finals. Not to mention the injuries to Ronaldo, the off-form nature of Rivaldo and inconsistencies of Ronaldinho did not help at all. But they were more than just flair, if you see the physique of those players, they could play any style of football. Yes Ronaldo was graceful and had magic with his feet, but he was powerful and could be physical as well. You see players like Neymar, they just resort to foul baiting.
I didn’t know until reading about it more but that 1982 wc match bw Italy and Brazil supposedly led to a total scrapping of the tiki taka-ish play that came to be associated with the Brazilian game and a introduction of counter attacking football using the “joga Bonita” style that symbolized their football of the 90s and 2000s… a new attacking method and defensive structure of the team that was reinforced with two wc wins and 3 overall finals appearances bw 1994 & 2002… I also read that following wc results of the last 12 yrs that they’ve started going back to that old system of play that endured themselves to the world initially… is there truth to any of this? Any Brazilians that could vouch for what I just said
Nah mate in Arteta's system the left wing back (saka or amn) drift inside without the ball and Tierney who's playing left CB overlaps on the left. The right side is conventional though

@@Mazrati but scolari took a gamble fod the 2014 similar to the 2002,you can see most of the attacks came from ronaldinho similar to 2014 he wanted all the attack to come through neymar but when neymar got injured, oscar was the only one there to cover for him but in 2002 everyone was equally availeble to cover for ronaldinho.
don't forget also the brazil defender have their nightmare with marcello often out of position
@@darrellabrahams747 yeah.. i hope we'll see the best of them in 2022, coz i want once in life see brazil get the trophy again
It would be nice if u post what Poch will bring at PSG
Can you make an Ajax 1995 yactics
Can you make a video about xavi's tactics in al sadd. And steven gerrard 's rangers tactics

Can you tell me which software you use to edit your videos. ?
It was a good team that have world class players an dem play free an together as a team if the do the same today the them can win a world cup to
Can you please do Argentina same world cup with Bielsa...
How did they deal with counter attack on the wings?
I didn’t know until reading about it more but that 1982 wc match bw Italy and Brazil supposedly led to a total scrapping of the tiki taka-ish play that came to be associated with the Brazilian game and a introduction of counter attacking football using the “joga Bonita” style that symbolized their football of the 90s and 2000s… a new attacking method and defensive structure of the team that was reinforced with two wc wins and 3 overall finals appearances bw 1994 & 2002…
I also read that following wc results of the last 12 yrs that they’ve started going back to that old system of play that endured themselves to the world initially… is there truth to any of this? Any Brazilians that could vouch for what I just said
I think Brazil could have won in 2010 as well.
PSG preview with Poch please

And sorry for being late
Viva la BRAZEEEEL
make a video about how we lost to germany 7-1
Correct me if I am wrong, but isnt this close to what Arteta is trying to do with his 343
Nah mate in Arteta's system the left wing back (saka or amn) drift inside without the ball and Tierney who's playing left CB overlaps on the left. The right side is conventional though
@@ashutoshmishra8423 Actually Arteta is reverting into a 4231 with Laca in CAM while its not working too well
@@GM-kj7sy that was 2-3 games ago now he's trusting ESR at attacking mid and its kinda working for us. I doubt he'll stick with this though
1970 Brazil team please
Ah, Roque Junior. He only worked well in that side.

Don't be like that to kaka😭
They win cos they're Brazil.
