Not karamo disregarding the dad’s feelings smh
Karamo is soooo big on setting boundaries and now the father is saying I’m willing to work on the relationship if respect is given & now he’s wrong??…he’s setting a boundary not only as a father but as a human being!!!..nobody should be disrespecting their father/parent
Karamo went about this one alllll wrong

The dad literally said the complete opposite, what are you talking about?💀💀 He was only willing to even hear the son out, if he took ALL the blame for the entire situation, instead of being a man and father and acknowledging his part in the situation- And it seems like he STILL would’ve continued to hold it against his son. It wasn’t a boundary, it was an unfair ultimatum. The son literally said he owed his dad an apology, cuz he was most definitely out of control. But at the end of the day respect is a 2 way street, and as a parent you’re supposed to lead by example period!

The kid should not disrespect the father, but the father can bend a little admit where he went wrong. There is always two sides to a coin not just one. To repair a relationship you both have to admit where you went wrong.

The son came on the show to apologize and reconcile... did ya'll forget that!? His dad came with itll take 6 months to a year for him to accept...
    Elders should teach...
Parents seem to think that no matter what THEY do they're the elder so they have to always be respected. Nah.
There should be a mutual respect between a child and parent.
This is a learning process for both of these men.
No he shouldn't have maced his father. No the father should not have called him out of his name.
Trauma is speaking from both sides.
    Tit for tat aint it.
I can imagine that this child has been dismissed by other family members. Thats trauma.
Me and my siblings dealt with this and it wasn't until me and my brothers were in our 40s for my dad to understand reciprocity.
The young man says that he wants to apologize. However, they'll have to do it on their own time.
    Respect is earned. Not expected.

The father has to realize he’s the parent. He has to be the bigger person regardless. His son is going through tough times probably tryin to be accepted in many areas of life so he may indeed come off disrespectful sometimes but you handle it in a good parenting way. As parents we are the adults when it comes to our children no matter the age and we all have been or will be disrespected by our children in one way or the other, but we have to take a deep breath and talk and move as an adult so they can learn and not mock our behavior to responding to their children. Therefore it won’t be a generational thing. Many times when you act like the parent and not tit for tat when it comes to your child, you child often times come back feeling bad for their behavior. This father has to stop saying “well he hurt me, I’m hurt” because you’re the parent at that point you’re the bigger person this is your child!

Karamo, was biased in dealing with this father-son situation. No matter how close they had been, the son dishonoured his father. Not once did Karamo mention the disrespect. Most cultures believe in respect for parents.

  • @ambzcloud
    @ambzcloud 6 месяцев назад +6

Being a parent doesn't entitle you to respect and doesn't entitle you to disrespect your child. Respect is earned and given. You can see from how the father behaved onstage that he is not a reasonable and respectful person when he gets in his feelings. I'm sure the son gets sassy and disrespectful, but I feel like he maced his dad after he was called the f word. You can't cut someone deeply and then act self-righteous as if you can do no wrong simply because you're their parent.

The father is very selfish and doesn’t believe he has to address any of his faults . The father is a class act he wants to play the victim and father card when it’s convenient for hm but his son actually gave him a place to stay and was there for him and gave him respect before the incident. The father said he never knew you could disrespect your parents and get away with it and i never knew a man could bum off his son and believes he deserves to be seen as a parent not a dependent.

im not gone lie as a child that went thru similar things, im still on the dad side. my mom has said and done hurtful things she even rarely takes accountability. im also speaking from someone who grew up very disrespectful many things i regret. only 26, and i still stand by the dad. on no day will i raise my hands or physically try to hurt my mom or dad. bring shame back. its one thing to unpack trauma and have accountability but lets not act like the number one rule is to always respect our mother and father. weather it comes with distance and space then so be it. we are all human we say f up messed thats hurts and deserves recognition but karamo lets start speaking from a parent pov sometimes. because one thing i learned was once i talked to my mom with sense and grew responsibility and accountability our relationship grew wildy beautiful. we still have ups and down but we gotta draw the line somewhere

im also a advocate for growing up with toxic parenting and things i genuinely didn't feel was right, i have endless stories. the stories i played a role in whether i was right or wrong as i grew i realize i was wrong even when i was right. you have one mother or father/ both lets not lose sight of that. over things we weren't 100% ourselves in. we need to teach forgiveness sometimes its not always a underlining issue. sometimes the issue is allowing the issue to linger when it doesn't have to.

Macing your father does sound wild but he was willing to apologize and take accountability why couldn’t his father do the same . If the dad wasn’t spending so much time being the victim and defensive, maybe there would have been time to address the son. Do I think he shouldn’t assaulted his dad or even cussed him out just cause he had to wait for his dad to come? Absolutely not that little boy is out of control. However, as a PARENT it is literally your job to lead by example. And instead of the dad putting his feelings and pride aside to begin the healing process and admit he was wrong, he chose to openly reject him and play the blame game. Y’all generation just want something a puppet to control, and put all your problems on, instead of acknowledging that just cause your younger doesn’t mean you don’t have feelings too. Respect is most definitely a two way street.

The father is weak. He is not emotionally stable enough to sustain relationships with his children. He is scared of getting hurt. He needs to grow up.
The child was wrong for macing and father and his language is not respectful.
They have a lot of work to do.
But 5 times is a bit too far.

The son was wrong PERIOD in more ways than one. Even if someone calls u the worse name N the world thats not N excuse 2 physically harm them. And the host didnt acknowledge the sons wrongs AND 4the record although everyone has a "truth" theres always "THE TRUTH" and the host needs 2 stop tellN people that they truth is all that matters cause then what about the other persons truth??? Even with the guest he brung back on he never told her the truth which is you're not healthy. I hate that the guy came back and apologized sure how he said it was harsh but he wasn't wrong nor was he tellN lies. Some/most of these females B proud 2B big and its not ok cause it's not healthy but furthermore they try and force it on the men like "take it or something wrong with u"

Not true he list said he owes his dad an apology, and that he’s not weird and has been there for him in the past. Y’all so caught up on the accountability of one side, but not the other. The fact that the son brought the dad on the show is all that even needed to be said🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ How you want somebody to respect you and your actively being petty, AND you supposed to be my parent. The son literally said he was open to apologizing, but the dad wasn’t even tryna hear none of that- the dad didn’t want to repair the relationship because he didn’t want to take accountability for his actions. Y’all can’t ask for one thing, while still doing the complete opposite.

Teon annoying asf! If you don't care...why come on the show dafuq? If you got the guts to mace your own father, you definitely got the guts to be called out your name by him. BTW....they definitely been drinking so why is everyone acting like this happened sober? You mace whomever...they are GOING to be irate. Especially if its a family member.
Rafael is the type of dad i KNOW alotta gay men need. When he said he had to defend Teon from his friends and everyone else, i felt that. My dad did the same thing too (yes I'm gay lol). Whatever happened that one time wasn't right.....but its not something to hold a grudge on. LIKE TEON HAS A FATHER WHO ALSO ACCEPTS HIS SEXUALITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not every gay son has that!
And big deal he was called a F*ggot.....so what? Teon knows his dad is so sorry about it. People who are under the influence and are mad are'nt always in they right mind. Its not right but it happens. And why are we putting Teon's "truth" over Rafael's? I know its hard for a parent when they child just keeps acting up over them...and vice versa. Literally.
And i hate that Rafael isnt allowed to feel vulnerable.....but Teon gets a full pass to be acting up should be the one to only feel vulnerable like???? I'm not discrediting Teon's past but with a dad like Rafael......y'all gotta take a step back sometimes and realize what you actually have and realize it could've been worse...but it aint. AND Karamo took things too personal frfr.

That was Karamo’s point. As parent you are supposed to lead and set the example period! The kid literally said he owed his dad an apology, but his dad wasn’t even willing to hear it or rekindle the relationship just because Karamo was asking him to own up to his actions first, and set that first example.

Let me tell you something....I have parents that if I were ever to disrespect them you "lime" to get called some of everything...gat, straight, truth, or lie. So just because he was late, you feel you can cuss him out.... that's still your parent. But just because he's gay is about him being called a f**? He was angry, too. I wish it didn't have to come down to sexuality... because that's not the problem here. Kuomo is bias.

First of all, verbal is verbal. When it escalates to physical, that is the issue. KARAMO I believe took the sons side because he felt for him on a personal level. Yet, at the same time the father has had feelings about his sons sexuality and I think has harbors some of the words he used on his son that night for a very long time. Both sides are clearly lacking in the area where accountability needs to be faced. Karamo should put his own feelings aside. The son is spoiled, and the father is egotistical. That’s it. It’s unhealthy and needs to be addressed by someone a little bit more open minded.

You know how many time I missed curfew??? And argued with my parents about me being late. If it wasn’t for my parents I wouldn’t have knowledge of having a crib period. Stop all this soft crap.
