I did remember enjoying Crash of the Titans. I mean sure it was different but it was still fun to play. The only major problem I have with the game is how Uka Uka looks. I mean the first time I played Crash of the Titans, I seriously thought he was a new character. Say what you want about the other character models, at least I was able to recognize them.

Crash of the Titans and Mind Over Mutant were the games that introduced me to Crash, and I loved every bit of them, and I liked Crash's design.

Let's just say, thank God for the N Sane Trilogy. Without it, the reputation of Crash Bandicoot would have been tarnished forever.
+Gaming Griffin yeah but it's a spit in the face for fans of the series. I beat all 3 of the N Sane Trilogy once, and prefer to play the original PS1 ports because the jumping isn't fucked.

It's awful in the perspective of a classic Crash gamer... But it's also enjoyable as it's own thing. I don't hate it as much as I led a few my friends to believe. I hate his goddamned voice. His appearance! The story!!! Aughh!!!.... But the gameplay was a lot of fun!

Personally, I didn't hate Crash of the Titans or crash bandicoot ripto's rampage. I also prefer the first crash to the second, but Warped remains the best
People give Titans a lot of flak, but it was a good game. Boom Bang on the other hand was pretty ugly. Reminded me of Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Boom. The Werehog was really underrated for its genre change from the day stages, but Boom was genuinely a bad game. That game felt like it was made by an AI in all respects. And I mean a basic, dollar store AI abandoned by its maker.

TheMarioManiac it was cancelled because it started as an ambitious project and it was too big for Gamecube disc but alot of planned content was scrapped due to time constraints

I wouldn’t say its bad, but the reasonings given here is that they overhauled the personalities of the characters (Tiny had it the worst) and the fact that the game is painfully unfunny. I still kinda liked it, but it probably would’ve been better if it wasn’t a part of the Crash franchise.

OK, Titans and Mutants aren't really bad. Sure, the redesigns are offenses, but the gameplay was very fun. And the fact that each two cutscenes have a different style in Mutants is just cool.

No. It's because they are good games. They are just *POOR* Crash Bandicoot games. They remove all the iconic elements that made Crash Bandicoot an iconic character and series, they turn the series into a cartoon and make all the characters parodies of their former selves. The games fundamentally as a game, is great... But in the scheme for most fans who grew up with Crash from start, it felt like a slap in the face.
I must say Mind over mutant quickly becomes boring as hell simply due to you having to run back and forward across the isle all the time

okuraorca Oh, not this again. Stop tying an eternal identity to a franchise. Franchises age and change like everything else. They were not poor Crash games. They expanded what Crash was beyond simple spin attacks and jumping. The games could’ve been better, but their core gameplay was a great evolution to the series and had a lot of potential. Being dissimilar to the original formula does not make them poor Crash games anymore than changing music genres makes a musician a poor artist.

Nitro Kart was amazing! For 2003, the cutscenes were fantastic visually and the story and tracks were fun! It has more team racing than actual Crash Team Racing! 😁

I mostly agreed with this list but don't fool yourself. Crash 2 is the best Crash! Crash 3 is really good but it has too many vehicle levels and they are all boring except for the Pura levels. But it has the best soundtrack from the series.
Joosua Anttila yeah warped gets way too gimmicky with the time travel they were creative but those levels would have been way more entertaining with out the gimmicks with the vehicles
Joosua Anttila I disagree. Of the original trilogy I believe that Crash 2 has the weakest level themes. Forests, ice levels, sewers, and a space station are decent but not as good as the level themes of 1 or 3. And as far as the vehicle levels go I feel that only 2 of the motorcycle levels are crap which is equal to the two jet pack levels in 2. As far as music goes 1 is my favorite but 3 is a close second. Also of the original trilogy 3 has the best boss battles. Usually the only argument people have of why 2 is better than 3 is vehicle levels. 2 is definitely the most innovative though.

CharlieZColt 2 is better than 3 and most definitely better than the first that had a flawed saving system outdated password feature and the box gems were punishing. 3 has a handful of great platforming levels the rest are overly flooded with gimmick that take up half of the game

It was perfect and very creative in concept and it's music was glorious! Thank you Spiralmouth. The only thing I regret is the not so okay AI and some balance issues, like shooters get the most championship score (driving is hard, okay?) and the gunnery imbalance, like OP throw items and re-merge ammo reset, which nullifies any reason to have a limited number of ammo.

You know, what I find funny??? Crash is a PS original charecter, but now it’s on XBOX A.K.A, PS arch nemesis.
Actually, he was never a Sony character. He was a character of Universal to begin with and when the contract with Sony ended, Universal was free to do what they wanted with Crash. He was only exclusive on Sony during the contract with Sony and as Universal kept wanting more and more, Sony had to give him (and Spyro) up. Fast forward the ownership bouncing about, it eventually became owned by Activision.

Crash Twin Sanity for me is the greatest. It is the most open with such unique gameplay and bosses. Epic game that has aged amazingly well compared to the (imo) terribly linear other games.
If it was finished it could have been even better than crash 2 & 3 but still the best post naughty dog crash game

All the redesigns were horrible to fans of previous games. And Crash punched, which was damn near sacrilege. Gameplay was fine though...
It's not that bad. It's just disappointing for Crash Fans because they changed so much from the trilogy legacy which makes it felt it's not a Crash Bandicoot game.
Unfortunately. Haters destroyed any Hope for the franchise to evolve into something better than a simple platformer.

Unpopular opinion, but I loved Mind Over Mutant. The whole open world aspect was really cool IMO and I loved the different styles for cutscenes

I love the Crash Bandicoot series. It's a special game series for me. My mom had passed away when I was 5 and my brother 2, back in 2003, and we would play Crash games all the time back then, I still have our first PlayStation 2 in wonderful condition it's special to me.
Growing up, my brother and I played them quite alot. I love them all. Now I'm 21 and we've been collecting them all. We still love them. For me I love the older ones more, up to TwinSanity. And I love that they remastered the first 3.

Ha. Twinsanity is good, but it's a broken and unfinished mess. It was a step in the right direction, but Twinsanity was nowhere near as polished as the top four games. Fifth place is the perfect place for it on the list.
Yes, but Crash 1 is still miles better polished and finished than Twinsanity is and much longer and also a product of its time. I will content though, it is also debatable between those two and I can see Crash 1 and Twinsanity possibly swapping places in a chart like this.
CTR however? Just no. CTR is miles above Twinsanity. CTR is a game that helped to change the kart racing genre and dethrone Mario from it as the only king of kart racers. It's very polished, smooth and loads of content. It's also a game that many non-Crash fans loved. Twinsanity will be below CTR on most lists for good reason..
Twinsanity in 5.because...there was no gamecube version
Pardon? Both are functional. But Crash 1 is more polished and finished that Twinsanity ever was. Crash 1 had so little cut content that was cut, while Twinsanity had at least *half* of the game.
Excuse me? Crash 1 was made at a time where that *was* the control scheme. There was no analog controller for the PlayStation and the general way the game handled was perfectly fine. That's not bad controls. That's you not learning the different scheme.
Were there problems? Sure. The Save System and the gems were rather Nintendo hard in their way of collecting them, but again, that's a product of the time. You don't see people saying that Super Mario Bros. was a bad game because it doesn't handle like Super Mario 64. You're trying to compare two games that were made almost 10 years apart based on the controls.
Crash one is totally functional and playable even today. It has little cut content that didn't get past early beta, where Twinsanity shows most of the game itself is missing. Trying to argue that it's not functional for controls is a moot point :P

1: Crash of the Titans, yeah, it was my first crash game, it's awesome people say the models were made to be edgy, and cool, but they were redesigned to fit the concept and art style for the game, cause they went for a more Hawaiian kind of art style
Crash Mind Over Mutant may have a terrible name, but the game itself... The soundtrack, the gameplay, cutscenes, mutants, boss fights everything was so smooth

Lamborghini Cars If you like to play the same game with minor modifications over and over for 10 or more years, you are the one with bad taste. Franchises trying something new can be a very good thing. And Crash’s Radical Entertainment gameplay was a lot better than another tired old run ‘n jump game.

Crash team racing was my favorite game when i was about 6. I also, however really enjoyed playing crash of the titans and mind over mutant. They werent thebest but they were fun nonetheless
