ANOTHER AMAROK ENGINE SWAP?? 👀

We did it...we killed the Scraparok 😭
After the trip out to the lakes, which resulted in it being left in a farmers yard, it's back into the unit to fully inspect the damage...but the diagnosis is not good 😖
So it's time to get planning to see what would be best to pop into the giant hole left in the engine bay!

there are LOADS of 1.9 builds, maybe not Amarok, but loads nonetheless. I would love to see how you progress with the 2.0L purely because I haven't seen it before, and if anyone is gonna do it right its going to be you guys. Good luck.

@@DarksideDevelopmentsexactly! Coming from a Quattro Audi b5 :D BUT the engines are pretty good when it comes to off-roading, a lot of Americans like to put them in pickups and stuff. Also there is one bi-turbocharged ALH on RUclips runs pretty sweet (AND you can Run it on any old bio fuel) 😉what more reasons do you need

I would go 3.0 bmw lump plenty of torque and displacement💨💨 for a amarok, big turbo etc etc. Top offroad romania have loads of bmw swapped 4x4s patrols and even a couple of samurais.

Would a Copper head gasket give you clearance to prevent pistons hitting valves? 🤔

Wasn't a gasket issue, just a cam timing issue. Wouldn't make a huge difference if any with a copper one

The same diffs, shafts and CV's that are in the V6 amarok, Front is also the same as V6 & V8 Touaregs, V6, V8, V12 Q7's, We see very few failures, Some times outer CV's fail but these are a 30 min change on the trail, other than that we rarely see drivetrain issues. If we go larger or the tyres it might be a different story, time will tell.

On stock turbos we push it to 1.65bar but we've not done any with billet wheels so

They seem to be relatively reliable from what we have seen so far, no major issues have come into us. If it's got a good history behind it then shouldn't be anything to worry about
