So far there is nothing greek about his films. You could say that his film Sacred Deer and Labstor looks more Irish than british. Kakojannis a cypriot film director in the 60s was awarded with Óscar for his english speaking film, Zorbas the Greek, but all the caracters, the music and the Script were greekthemed. In Lanthimos films you dont see any greek characters, greek actors or any sort of greek music. Anything he has achieved so far is also on his own effort. Nobody really payed any attetion to him in Greece and the greek center of cinematography has never financed any of his films. The Irish Element Productions financed his films Labstor, sacred deer and the Favourite.
@@janhamburger1690 then you clearly havent watched many greek films. Especially Nikos Nikolaidis films. there are a lot of Greek films with a weird tone and setting. and lots of nudity lol The Lobster is actually a Greek-Irish co-production by the way.
@@janhamburger1690 "In Lanthimos films you dont see any greek characters, greek actors or any sort of greek music."
