I really like Emma's description of Marks character, because there are definitely points in the movie I start to feel bad for him, but then he does something absolutely stupid and im reminded how pathetically short sighted he is. It's funny and wonderful.
I know real people like that: people who seem to exist only to give your eye-rolling muscles exercise, but then they do something human, but then before you betray yourself by sympathizing, they manage to go right back to reminding you that they aren't at all sympathetic.... Most of them have been at places where I've worked--- but not exclusively.
Marvelous film! Emma's acting is superb! Cinematography, soundtrack, and set design are incredible. I only wish Mark and Ramy had proper British accent; they sounded more American than British.
Poor Things is a wonderful, sprawling, multi-course banquet of a film, and only one or two of the dishes take a while to arrive. I can see why some folk will love it and equally why some folk will have been itching to leave.
