PLEASE READ: Like everyone else, we are very concerned about the current situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. We have not been traveling a lot for the past few months and because of this we have few recently recorded videos to publish. However, we have decided to continue to publish videos as usual because luckily, within the past twelve months, we were able to record a lot more videos than we were able to publish. This means we will publish some older Tripreports we weren't yet able to cut and upload. And we have enough of them to continue to publish three Tripreports per week for the foreseeable future! We ask for your apology for having to upload some older videos which are not necessarily up-to-date. As always, you can see when a video was recorded in the description. Thank you for your understanding. We wish everyone, especially those working in the aviation and travel industry, a lot of strength in this difficult time. Remember to wash your hands and stay safe! Greetings from Vienna, David and Felix
I also think you can publish some old materials. It's nice to remind how it had been before attack of pandemy. But now we are in new reality and materials from it like this might be helpful for a big group of viewers.
LIL YO, this 60k you said is only in like Florida, Texas, and California. I live in the New York Metro, and here things are slowly getting back to normal. Trust me, I am an actual American
Really is great to see "Simply Aviation" back up running again... We have no other direction to go but forward, despite how the world has changed. Now more than ever, your videos will be of great assistance to us, in conveying what we are to expect in the short to medium term with regional and international air travel.
Welcome back mate !! Felix we have missed you !! So sad to see so many airports around the world like this virtual ghost towns...bloody awful !! Thanks again Felix...such strange times but at least you can still travel. Here in Australia we have borders closed...very little flight activity and you have to apply to leave the country with a permit and there are hardly any international flights to anywhere at the moment !! Strange times indeed and no sign of and end to this mess !! Take care and stay safe !!
So amazing to see how empty and closed everything is at that airport. The world of travel has changed. I don't mind if I have to wipe down my seat next time I fly. It's probably something we all should've been doing for many years anyway. It definitely feels different watching these videos compared to just a few months ago. The empty airports, parked planes and new distancing and cleaning requirements definitely are going to be normal for a long time.
Aviation with Jeff I look at the Flightradar24 website regularly and it is extraordinary how until the last couple of weeks almost all flights were cargo, now there are a few passenger flights but nothing like so frequent as before. Here in the UK domestic travel for non-essential purposes is slowly starting again, same for international flights. I think it will probably be at least the Autumn before I venture on a plane again. But it’s good to see you venturing forth from Vienna once more 😂👍
@@BillCameronWC the airlines are expecting a big jump this summer here in the US. Unfortunately with Covid still growing and now states and cities quarantining people from certain states or locking down again, we'll see what happens here. I'm hoping to take an inaugural flight out of my home airport in November. We'll see what it's like then.
Airplanes are notorious for being filthy. Because airlines turn aircraft around so quickly, they only perform cursory cleaning (at best), and who knows how frequently they were deep-cleaned prior to the COVID pandemic. Tray tables are especially notorious for being germ-riddled. Then, the hygiene practices of some passengers leave a lot to be desired. Post-pandemic, I hope airlines keep offering those cleaning wipes for every flight. I may even bring my own "just in case."
Yay, amazing tripreport! I finally booked 3 flights again (for August) and I can’t wait! Going to be my first flights since March, so in total roughly 5 months without boarding a plane. I really miss it! Happy travels and stay safe and healthy everyone :)
I'm going to fly to Corsica at the end of July, and your review explained me what is happening right now in the aviation world ! Thanks Felix, take care man
Just to keep track guys don't force simply aviation to upload because the danger that there is due to this virus is really bad and also the fact that his RUclips content is based out of trip reports it's just a big no no for him to be forced to travel despite health risk and btw stay safe everyone
I arrived last year in Vienna from Copenhagen. It is a nice airport. I hope to fly more in future. On the other hand, I have restarted to book hotels and take car trips on a very careful consideration.
America’s Airports are ramping up again. Southwest Airlines has been putting more and more aircraft into service again everyday. People are flying more and more again now. So that’s really good.
Hope everything goes back to normal. Really appreciative that Austrian still serves hot meals on such short flights and especially during this pandemic
When you disinfected the seat and tray table and said this is a part of travel rn, I'm reminded that most people didn't actually do it before. Planes are absolutely nasty, please disinfect your space every time even after we are long done with this virus in like 5 years. Edited to add, that I rather enjoy the empty airports :p I guess they'll be busy again before I'll be back on any flights but it's still, idk, kinda relaxing to see :p
So sad to see how quiet the airport and overall flights are. My dad is a pilot and he also rarely get flight schedule, just once a month or if lucky maybe two. And then his overall salary is reduced about 60% or so. Hopefully this virus will go as soon as possible so we can enjoy more flights and see more trip report from Simply Aviation. Stay safe & healthy lovely people 😊
The seating arrangement on the Austrian E195 is interesting. On most US carriers, the seats in US First Class domestic flights (equivalent to Business Class on European domestic) on Embraer aircraft are three seats across per row rather than four across. The seats in First are about 20 inches wide, whereas seats in Coach/Economy are 18 inches wide, same as on Boeing and Airbus aircraft for domestic use.
Shared surface contact is unlikely to spread the infection yet receives most of the attention. Airborne transmission is a lot more common but receives far less attention for some reason.
Great video. Would have love to see how you were welcome in Amsterdam. Who reviewed the form you completed and what other procedures they have in place for individuals coming from other countries.
Super video Felix.
Un saludo from Madrid!!!.
not in the US and in Europe. Europe is still quite a lot but only 60% still fly in some countries there are also fewer flights in Europe and the US around 70-80%.
decafjava facts. This isn’t going to last forever there will be a vaccine or treatment eventually. Air travel will come back but it may take a few years to do so pre covid
I think things will be different going forward.. increased use of technology (check-in digitally, etc), enhanced cleaning, increased emphasis on health screening, changed food service, etc. Trends will change no matter what but the pandemic accelerated some of these changes going forward..
Thank you very much for this video! The borders in Suriname are still closed since the 13th of March, but if they are open can you make a trip report onboard Surinam airways "new" Boeing 777(it's actually not new(it is an ex-Singapore airlines aircraft)? Thank you for this trip report!! Hope to see another trip report soon!
Hi Felix! I would like to ask since you are from another country (Austria), upon going out of the Amsterdam Airport what other health protocols was observed by them aside of the Health Declaration Form you signed on the plane upon embarkation?
Good to see reviews coming back. Sadly, my wife and I won't feel safe to travel for at least another year. Too many new cases of the plague after governments tell us that it's getting safer. So, Austrian make passengers responsible for disinfecting the cabin. Not sure that's a good idea. What did they give you for a bathroom (lav) visit?

You know that things are starting going back to normal when Simply Aviation posts a new video. Thanks a lot!
Lol not in the us people are idiots here 60k new cases in a day!
Unfortunately not over where I am in the US!

It's sad to see what the Aviation world has become. Great trip report as always!
There are now strict rules!!!
The dark clouds really adds to the atmosphere of this video..
Great trip report.
it is sad to see aviation world like this and some airlines are thinking to retire a380 and 747's😢
Great Trip Report! It’s good to see you guys back flying again. I’m sure things will start to pick up over the coming weeks & months!✈️
Almdudler😍😍😍, it’s by far the best drink world wide, especially when sitting on a terrace on a mountain in the Austrian Alps!
