- Finally the wait is over and the turbo is now upgraded. This is a very in depth and detailed video so watch it all so you don't miss anything. I’ve done both water pump and turbo also but on floor jacks. Absolute nightmare, I had hand tools and no drills, as barebones as you could’ve imagined. Very good and informative video!

Walnut blasting works it can be a hassle to get done but def worth it

@@andricksgarage8745 damn fr? I did get the xdrive cause it be snowing where I live but is running good right now, I got 82k in the whip I might need to replace the battery and the breaks, it keeps telling me my battery is low or dying

Hey, there’s a thread going on the f10.5post forums regarding this Dinan turbo based on your video! General consensus is no one really has tried this turbo so no idea on how good or not it is. It’s priced between the PS1 and the PS2, but does it perform in between the two?? WE’D LOVE TO SEE A DYNO :-)

I haven’t dynoed it and I don’t plan on it because I don’t want to blow my motor lol
We would say it performs closer to the PS1. It’s a great upgrade on N55s looking to have more performance without changing complete turbo frames or manifolds. We’ve done a few Dinan spec turbo builds and they perform fantastic for the price.
You cant really blow up your motor on a dyno, unless the guy is not professional, and second i don’t believe your turbo is custom built, you have a stage 1 Pure turbo upgrade come my guy its obvious. To push 400hp+ all you need is intake,downpipe,cooler,e85,tune. No need to upgrade the turbo. If u want more 450+ its pure turbo upgrade stage 1 or 2. And this is coming from a guy that works on german engines.

Hi I loved the plethura of info I was able to glean from your upgrades, thank you. I have the 2013 bmw 535i, m-sport package as well, I am looking to upgrade the turbo, I clicked on the link it went to the 335i n55 engine dynan big turbo upgrade. Will that turbo work in the 535i n55 , I know thats the engine you have, so I am assuming it will??

@@CarGeekshey brother, your F10 is cool and I like the content. Call Dinan...They absolutely do not have any upgraded turbos that work for an F10 N55. According to Dinan, they design their upgraded turbos to specifically work with their expensive Dinantronics software too. I was confused why it would work for an F30 but not an F10, but they confirmed in 2019 and I called them last week to see if anything had changed. I'm a Florida F10 owner too, so I just wanted to pass along the info.

Nice build brother. I have 2013 535i FBO with JB4. Just ordered a Vargas GC turbo upgrade and installing a PFS port injection kit at the same time... Do you or are you having any fueling issues? I didn't catch if you had upgraded your fuel management with an HPFP, PI or something else. My car right now with FBO and running MAP5 is starving for fuel at full boost.

Wanted to ask would you recommend getting a intercooler before I get a jb4 ? Or is the jb4 not worth it and going to just cause problems ?! Thanks I just subscribed to your channel !
Hey awesome man! I would definitely get the jb4 before the intercooler you will notice a big difference! If you do the jb4 you should 100% upgrade your charge pipe so you don’t blow it up. And thank you bro!

Nope not at all or from what I’ve heard. I use to have a jb4 and wanted a more aggressive tune so I went to active but I loved the jb4

I did my E60 535xi turbo upgrades a couple of months ago , mine is a 6 speed manual transmission , did you get a custom tune from active autoworks ? if so do you know how much boost you're running ?
Very nice man! I did not get a custom tune from them I just had Corsa change the boost on it. When they were testing everything I was pushing 24lbs but we now have it at 21lbs to be safe.
What kind of turbo did you upgrade to? Not sure if you mentioned it, also. How much dis they charge labor to get a idea for mine.
Here’s the little backstory behind the turbo. The guy who had it before me worked at BMW and he bought a turbo and sent it to where Dinan builds theirs. So it was built at Dinan. I got the turbo off of him because he blew his motor, the turbo only had 3K miles on it.
I don’t know the labor for just the turbo but I want to say it was around $600 if I had to guess.

Gotta build boost. Don't just floor it.. work on brake boosting and stuff for some real power.
Modern BMWs build boost by load demand. No need for brake boosting for fun runs.
As far as tune did you have to do anything to accommodate the upgraded turbo?
only thing left was an Intercooler for the upgraded turbo
Would you recommend doing any upgrades to a 528i xdrive
You can always do tune, downpipe, intake, and charge pipe

Question. Without a turbo upgrade how much boost should I be making with a pwg. I have down pipe, MHD tune stage 2+, intercooler. And that’s pretty much it cause the charge pipe doesn’t do anything or the clean filter. ?
Love the pops. I have a 2011 535I Msport and it is straight piped , but it doesn’t pop. Did you tune it to make it pop? I believe mine has the stock down pipes.

Did you notice any whine when your turbo was failing? Also how long did you run your failing turbo? Im noticing a certain whine of some sort when I give 75% or more throttle, im at 101k miles oil changed every 3-4k. I have to check my turbo bearings to see if thats the cause. If so I will be getting a new turbski.
I did not hear a wine when it was going. I knew it was going cause I had lost pretty much all boost and I was significantly slower.

Sounds good. You can also check in your charge pipe and intercooler if there’s oil there.
@@CarGeeks Fixed issue, when I did my trans service i followed the fcpeuro video. Didnt realize to leave car running when topping off fluid, got that done today whine is gone. First time doing so now I will know for next time. I was about a quart low btw.

Yes they are a lot of maintenance because they are a V8 and twin turbo so over time it’s a lot of compression on the engine and turbos.

I just went with the OEM spark plugs

Ah I just sold my 2008 550i and got a 2014 550i and the power difference is crazy 360hp to 445hp and I’ll be doing a tune and down pipes soon then intakes i think I will be high 500’s or low 600’sin hp
