45th Annual Irish Evening of Music and Poetry

HoCoPoLitSo’s 45th annual Irish Evening of Music and Poetry brought together hundreds in joyous celebration of all things Irish and literary on Saturday, February 18, 2023. Held at Howard Community College, in Columbia, Maryland, the evening's theme was "Where Journalism Meets Literature: A Conversation with Colm Tóibín and Maureen Dowd." Tóibín and Dowd read from their recent works and spoke with moderator Susan Thornton Hobby about the crossroads between journalism and literature. The evening also featured music by Poor Man’s Gambit and a talk by the Irish Embassy's Deputy Head of Mission, Orla Keane. Ed Young served as master of ceremonies.
