I am glad I found your channel. I am 71 and have struggled with my weight my whole life. Three times I reached goal -- and maintained about 5 years...but rest of my life I have been over 200 and only 5 ft 2 tall. Every time I lost it was very strict fast weight loss diets. I just spent 6 months during Covid working with a dietician - My WORST effort yet. Only lost 3 lbs. Now I did a 5 day water fast, and now doing 20/4 intermittent fasting and only eating two healthy meals in the 4 hour window. Already down 20 lbs. LOVE INTERMITTENT FASTING. I think it sets people up for failure when things are too complicated.

I recently stumbled on your RUclips channel after searching for anti inflammatory diet. I never thought It would make such a significant difference. I followed the meal prep for anti inflammatory exactly. First of al I was intimidated but with your video and the print out for shopping and following along the recipe - I was SO Proud of myself that I actually did it! You made it easy to follow and with you in my iPad I felt like I had a friend in the kitchen with me. Also really enjoyed the foods! At the end of the first week I could not believe how much difference I felt in increased energy, feeling of lightness, lack of aches and pains and I think I even notice some mental clarity. (Had some residual brain fog from Covid). I absolutely love your videos and am learning about intermittent fasting and plan to integrate that next. Thank you thank you thank you! Who knew 30 minutes on RUclips could lead to significant change. I appreciate what you are doing and have shared your site with several friends! Please keep it up!! 😊❤

Hi Lacey: thanks for sharing this video. I'm doing Intermitent Fasting and I saw that the weight is moving down slowly and my body is feeling so different as the days goes by i have less bloating, I see my belly smaller, and my cravings for salty snacks just ends. Im drinking more water, say bye to sodas, also Im trying most of your clean eating recipes and makes a big diffrerence. Last night I did a quinoa salad, i have no kale so i use cabbage instead, garbanzo , celery, tomato, carots, yellow onions, and I made your lemon juice , lemosn zest, olive oli and honey dressing whitout peper because i dont eat spicy . It was SOOOO good!! OMG... I love It!.

I just really like having dinner with my family. All of us eating the same thing at the same time. So I’ve been trying 16:8 for the past few weeks. I don’t do keto. Long story short. Great short term. Lost 85 pounds. Then ended up with adrenal fatigue and hypothyroidism. 4 years later my body is still not 100% and have gained it all back and nothing seems to work anymore. So I chose 16:8 because fasting really long stresses my adrenals.

The best way to break A FAST for females before you eat a macro dense meal is with salt, bone broth and pea or fish protein. Everything else can spike insulin, store body fat, mess up your thyroid, counter acts the whole point of the fast. Also, your immune system can have a really bad negative response. Great day of eating... but breaking your fast is a super important part of intermittent fasting. :)

Thank you for posting this video!! I have been on a roller coaster ride with my medical team and trainers trying to find the best way to eat to lose the rest of my weight. I've lost over 140 #'s and have another 75 to get my knees replaced and another 50 to get to my goal of 175!!
In May my primary care finally talked me into having gastric bypass surgery. I've lost over 100#'s and kept it off for more that 6 years but then got stuck. Physical limitations in my legs and knees & ankles limit my exercise but still work out regularly :) After taking all the classes and still no weight loss doing a plant based diet (which I loved), meeting with Bariatric nutritionist & counselors, they determined that yet another approach might be better. They assigned me a new doctor that is internal medicine and nutrition. She has me back on intermittent fasting and keto. I am thrilled to say that I have lost 27#'s in 5 weeks and lots of inches!! I love IF and am getting use to the keto slowly but surely!! I still can't make myself eat chicken with skin lol!! Thankful that the gastric bypass is back off the table!!
It really made me happy to see we are on approximately the same timetable (mine is 11:30-12 to 4-4:30). I find it the perfect time period so I can lunch with friends and family!)
Thank you again for posting your videos!! I've learned so much about food prep and taking care of me!!
Blessings to you and your family Lacey🙏🏼🥰

And as for intermittent fasting, you are so right... definiitely increases energy levels , so much so that its almost ridiculous. Who knew?! Anyway, thanks for this vid. I love it, and it has helped me soooo much!

Well you have to inform your self about drinking too much water.
You can lose electrolites and you should drink when you are thirsty otherwise don't touch water.
Your body tells you when you need to drink.
And about feeling allways hungry you have to lower your carbs waaaay down. Use primarily healthy fats than proteins and fiber and carbs takes care on its own.

But if it's an insulin spike and crash then it makes sense. Coffee seems like a better fit. I'm a newbie for this lifestyle change. Got my new gym membership and shoes! I'm excited to have more energy and the other benefits with this eating regimen.
I'm close to quitting smoking and the weight gain with that is what has kept me from sticking with it as well as the lowered blood pressure. The latter creates fatigue for 4-6 months. Drop the Caffine.
Latest research shows, when you have caffine in the bloodstream it spikes cortisol, causes Stress to increase. Stress takes ages to reduce. When the body is in stress mode, it will not take energy from fat stores, only glycogen. It also causes Grelin, the hunger hormone to dramatically increase, which makes you hungry. Purpose being to pump up your glycogen stores.

I'm so very impressed that you can do IF without being on a keto diet! I could never do IF if I weren't on a keto style of eating! Before keto, I was ALWAYS driven by my sugar/carb cravings. To engage in IF would have made me so miserable! But on keto, I now can easily engage in IF, as my body finally recognizes *leptin*, that amazing full-feeling chemical! It's so worth it - for all the benefits of IF!

Are you getting all your nutrition? I know this two years old
but I'm concerned about certain diets to a degree, you look under weight
is the reason I'm asking. Keep up the motivation but keep your nutrition on
    point too.

When you drink your apple cider vinegar water in the afternoon/night, do you put in lime, lemon or anything like that to make it taste better? I’ve been drinking it some days and it has significant impact on my stomach and intestines. But I almost vomit by the taste of it, even though I’ve mixed it with lots of water and lemon/lime. Wondering if you had any good tips to make it easier to drink? Love your channel btw!! It’s so helpful to me!!

I just started watching your videos! I am currently obese and i am hoping to begin IF but with 16:8. I have 2 questions. 1) I love sparkling water and I want to know if it can be drank during the fasting part? 2) my birthday is in 8 weeks and I do want to eat something fun and have some cake. As long as I keep the food within the eating window and I don't go overboard on cals, is this OK in your opinion? New fan from Canada!

    1) to start with can I have a 14:10 or 15:9 IF window then gradually increase it o 16:8?
    2) is it ok to water Apple cider vinegar water in the late evening/night?
