An analogous law was extended to people of Spanish ancestry, whether Jewish or Republican, whose ancestors were forced to leave Spain due to political or religious motives. The law does not contemplate the financial situation or social class of the descendants. So, you're wrong.

I'm Jewish, but not Sephardic. I thought this offer was ridiculous. Is it an apology? No. An opportunity to rewrite history? Too little, too late. Is it going to change anything?
Bring back those who died merely because Ferdinand and Isabella hated us?

@@imisstoronto3121 By having to prove your lineage means that you have to prove that your ancestors were Sephardic, ie your ancestors were forced to leave the Spanish kingdoms. The same law applies to the descendents of the Spanish Republicans forced to quit Spain after the Civil War.
