Just to reiterate the point I'm trying to make in this video - your body is both consciously and unconsciously taking onboard sensory information every second of every day. If the systems that take this information onboard and then relay it to the brain have been compromised for whatever reason, the brain is going to have to adapt to this and use up more fuel in order to decode its surrounding environment. This is one of the key reasons why those who experience crashes often avoid scenarios that put their body in a position where it has to interpret more (louder noises, bright/flickering lights, temperature extremes, moving objects, travelling in vehicles, watching tense tv shows/films, more congested towns/cities/shops) this is because it will drain their very limited energy resources very quickly. Once the brain is forced to function with a lack of fuel (in the form of oxygenated blood), it will result in compromised autonomic activity throughout the rest of the body; leading to chronic symptoms

I have autism and this is a perfect description of my experience, for the same reason - just different brain faults.

Yep, such a common trait in autism unfortunately koalamama2 :L Thanks for your comment! :)

I thrive on routine, especially when I'm healing. -The Christmas Holiday Season is when I'm most vulnerable to flaring...

oh boy that's so relatable Mark! The unpredictability of not knowing when people are coming and going... you feel you have to show up for them as much as possible and it really does take its toll

So much value in one video. Thanks so much for posting, Chris. For two months now, after a surprise illness this is now what I'm experiencing. Confusion in everyday settings. It's almost unbelievable. I've got back on my Trek Madone and pedaling as often as I can. Allowing the body time to recover and make the proper adjustments with good nutrition and sleep. I do believe the fat soluble, synthetic version of vitamin B1 is also helping. Perhaps that's a good idea for your next video. It's called Benfotiamine

I really appreciate that Jay thanks mate. I'm so glad you've managed to build yourself back up after that setback, these things definitely take time, which puts life on hold for a while but its what has to be done. Ironic that you commented this because I've got a few videos already made and planned and the next one is why I'm personally not a fan of supplements altogether.
I'm pleased if you are getting benefit from the B1 - if it's working for you then that's great! I tried benfotamine myself and other forms of B1 after reading Dr Lonsdale's book and seeing some content from Elliot Overton - It just didn't offer me any lasting results unfortunately; that was a few years back. What I later ended up finding out via Functional Neurology, was that although you can attempt to supply more nerve activity/fuel with B1 supplementation, it actually takes direct stimulation of a particular part of the brain/nervous system to deliver fuel to that area in order to establish new neural connections; stimulation that only occurs whilst performing tailored neurological exercises (and then exercise to recondition the body as a whole) - this is the key that I believe is separating healthy people from those with a chronic ailment; one person's body is having to make tonnes of adaptations whereas the other's operates efficiently.

@@ChrisGascoigne1 Wow. Keep doing what you're doing. You're meant for this obviously. People need this sort of help, and expertise. Where its built strictly through pure experience like you've had. From what I've experienced with this B1 supplementation so far, is you're spot on. It wasn't until I exposed my body to nice low/medium intensity road cycling over time, supplying the blood circulation throughout the body I started seeing changes. I wouldn't suggest a wim hof method for someone that is really suffering as it's quite shocking ~ hitting the cold water. But I did benefit from "cool" baths. Something to activate the nervous to constrict the blood vessels. Relearn the adaptation process. I believe my body got so deconditioned, like a sitting disease. So many years of office/computer work 12-16hrs per day. Sometimes when you're doing it, you don't even realize. Have a nice evening. Thanks again for the reply. Cheers
