    I'm feeling much better now I've read all of these stories of woe and frustration. I thought I was going mad.. Retrieved old and simpler ones with no multi-times option and so far working fine. Still gives twice a day with "Every 12 hours". I think my error here having gone over video, is that there is only a total of 3 start times altogether between both stations and not as I previously thought, 3 start times each zone.

    If you have successfully programmed a station it will have a square around it. When the station is blinking it means you have selected it to program a time. Orbit could have done a better job in the instructions on how to program the different stations with different times.

    An important statement in this video is that the default is both stations but they work "consecutively" when programmed to work at the same time! You could consider that they would work concurrently if you chose the same time; however, they follow each other.

    This is the absolute hardest thing to program, I have ever encountered. I "think" I have it right and by no means want to do a test, because it will screw up my settings. I have moved this timer three times this year and each time I have to watch several tutorials for at least an 20 mins each to get it to where I think I have it right. This has to be easier! Seriously. It works well, when it works (have three single outlet) but this double is really not worth the frustration. My time is worth more than what I am wasting on making this thing program correctly. Bad instructions written inside package and one bad Orbit video. Also two other videos by a video help guy and he is just confusing as Orbit videos.

    I use these to irrigate my trees @ my cypress tree nursery. They work great, but if you change the program be aware that it remembers the old program too and will water for both if not reset. There is a reset button of the front or you can reset by removing the battery. I also use a charcoal filter with this and it kills the chlorine in the water and the trees love it.

    Easiest solution is to buy a Melnor. They are intuitive and genuinely simple to program. Orbit cannot provide how to set different start times for the two stations. When I try to set station two, it seems to overide what I set for station one...... Like I said, my Melnor was easy to set 4 stations, each with 3 start times, the first time through with no confusion.

    I've noticed a problem with this and the one zone (604469) timers. A low battery can cause the unit to get stuck on, not shut off, until the batteries are replaced. You need to add a voltage condition display to say, "Change Battery Soon" so unit will still operate; but allow the customer to change batteries before a problem occurs. When the half battery is lit, the unit will not function. Just making you aware.

    Unfortunately both stations will not come on at the same time. A work around is to purchase a y fitting. Screw the timer to your spigot. Then screw the y fitting to the station 1 outlet. Then screw both hoses to the y fitting. After programming, the timer will keep track of the one station, but distribute water through both hoses. I used this to keep track of the time my two misters are on on my 2 outside ac condensers to help in the heat of our Texas summer days.

      Hello, this timer has the ability to run both outlets/station sequentially on the same program (A,B,C) or you could split them into different programs to run at different times. For example, if you wanted station 1 to run at 5AM and station 2 to run at 10AM, you could set program A to run only station 1 at 5AM, leaving station 2 unselected on that program, and then run station 2 on program B for 10AM, leaving station 1 unselected. Hope this answers the question.

Throughout the printed instructions as well as this video I was unable to find this term explained. I pressed the manual button (with timer on auto) and then the station button to select the desired station. It probably would have worked fine except I had no idea how to tell which station was selected because I could not find that addressed in either the printed or video instructions. Maybe if the timer had two seconds more lag before it started to water in manual mode and/or the video went a tiny bit slower I would have a fighting chance. I loved the first Orbit timer but it was a single output and I needed two “stations “ when I split my drip system for better performance.

      Orbit Irrigation - thanks for your reply. Do any of the Orbit timers allow for more than 1 station to be activated at the same time?

    • @orbitsprinklers
      @orbitsprinklers  5 лет назад +1

      @@richardmcnulty6928 Unfortunately no. We actually aren't aware of any sprinkler timer by us or any manufacturer that does this. The reason is because sprinklers systems (hose end or underground) are calibrated and designed that the decrease in pressure from having multiple stations operating at once would be too much of a decrease to properly run the sprinklers.

    This may sounds weird but I just got this timer today and I had both stations running at the same time as in all my sprinklers were on and then after that I can’t get all of them on anymore. I know you guys say that both stations can’t be on at the same time, station 2 would run after station 1 if they were set to the same time. So are you sure there’s no way to have both station on at the same time?

    I just bought a 96782 and I am NOT impressed. The small piece of paper which came with it has small print. Would it be possible for the people who sell this thing to reassign some of their idle people from the video production department and instead have them write a real manual for this thing?

    I hate this timer. I bought one last year and couldn't figure out how to use it. Thought maybe this year they might have upgraded the directions or settings, so I bought a new one. Nope. Mistake. Instructions still don't work. Printed ones that come with timer or this video. I follow everything to the letter for Station One: A, B and C and then when I set Station Two, all of my settings from Station One are changed to the new settings I have entered for Station Two. I doesn't need to be this confusing. I used to have another water timer (which I can't find - otherwise, I would have bought one of those!) I am done with Orbit timers. Very displeased. Yet again.

    • @orbitsprinklers
      @orbitsprinklers  6 лет назад

      We're sorry for the confusion. Hopefully we can clarify. The best way to approach this timer is going clockwise around the dial. first, set the start time for A B or C. On each of these you can select one or both of the stations, but keep in mind that the ABC settings refer to start times in which the zones will run in sequence, one after another. So you cannot have station run at different times on the same program. To have them run at different start times, they need to be on separate schedules (ABC). Here's an example scenario. Say I wanted to water station 1 for 15 minutes and i wanted it to start at 5AM. And say I wanted to water station 2 for 30 minutes and wanted that to start at 8 AM. If i put both on start time A, station 1 will run at 5AM for 15 minutes, but station 2 will start at 5:15 and run for 30 minutes; not what I wanted. So, I put station 1 on start time A for 5AM (for 15 minutes), then I put station 2 on start time B for 8 AM (for 30 minutes). In this case it will run as desired.

    Orbit, a humble suggestion: Consider making a visual example using some footage of a 2-area lawn, showing sprinklers coming on, how long they run, then shutting off, as a user programs the device. This tutorial lacks ANY relevance or context of what will happen, and how to cause that thing to happen with the un-intuitive settings. I am *completely* lost.
