On a recent trip to Malaysia, we spent a few days in Penang exploring the streets and capturing some photography. On a particularly golden evening in George Town, Elly and I fell in love with the creative vibe and aesthetic as we wandered through Little India and towards the Clan Jetties.
I shot photos exclusively on my Fujifilm X100F and Elly was using the Fujifilm X-E3 with 23mmF2. As mentioned in the vlog, here are links to the Square Lens Hood and my camera strap:

I hope you can visit Kuching Sarawak here in Malaysia one day. For me Kuching has similar scenery with Penang where you will see old shop houses, street art, old British buildings and etc. Recommended place to go in Kuching Sarawak for photography; Kuching Waterfront, Carpenter Street, India Street, Old Court House, New Sarawak Museum Complex, Malaysia-China Friendship Park and Bako National Park. I’m sure you are going to love it! 😊

spoiler: It’s exactly the same as the X-T20, but the touchscreen is mildly more functional. And the EVF is just over there a little bit.
The sensor is the same as the X100F also. So yeah, if you need OVF: 100F.
If you need to switch lenses: E3.
100f has a leaf shutter and built in ND filter. So if flash sync and quiet shutter is important to you...

Thank you! I was really pleased with how the colours came out for this one! It actually was somewhat "effortless" when it came to grading these clips, as everything seemed to just look great in comparison to previous vlogs!
I used to live in Penang during my childhood. Looking at your photograph give me a different perspective of Penang. Great photos. Now I'm thinking of getting my self the X100F and go back to Penang and shoot some photos in Georgetown myself. That would be really interesting.

I love my F, such a portable cameras. Since going fujifilm, I've always shot manually with my ISO, F stop and Shutter Speed. This definitely makes you more aware of your settings.

Yeah, Penang has some real magic to it! I didn't vlog as such when we were in Singapore, but I _did_ film quite a bit. I tried editing something together but it didn't really go too well, so I skipped it for now. I may return to it after the Malaysia content. I've been posting about Singapore quite a bit on my Instagram, however.

Are the first 2 mins filmed with the GH5 & 12-60? Great intro video for the vlog with superb audio editing. Really neat to see a highlight of the everyday things that occur in George Town, Penang along with your great street photography.
Yep! All the video was filmed with the GH5 and 12-60, and all photos with the X100F. I too love seeing the everyday life in a new area - I feel it's the best way to get an understanding of the local culture and vibe of a place!

Just picked up a second hand x100f with 100 shutter count!!! Thought about an ex-2. Can’t wait for your review and comparison of xe-3. You and Ellie/Elly(?) should do a side by side review together as she is the regular xe-3 user!
Went to the store to check out the fujifilm x100f today. They unfortunately didn't have it in silver anymore so I'll be getting it in the mail soon ;) Thank you for the great videos and photography. You really helped my decision to go for it.

Cheers! I actually tried to vlog a little when in Kuala Lumpur (filmed after this vlog) however it wasn't actually that successful and I didn't finish filming it. I'll try again another day though.

Dude you should come to Ipoh too~ btw the lens hood I had is round it's much more compact and it does not block the viewfinder that much, bought mine after watching your review a few months ago XD
Have always loved your vlogs as you use my favourite gear like the Fuji X series and seen so much of Japan and Hong Kong and now my home country. Great stuff and keep it going!

X-E3 vs X100F: I saw in my sub box that one of the Fujifilm channels released *today* a video on that same topic - before your vlog.
Ah interesting, I'll see if I can find it and see what they have to say. They're such similar cameras, but one has interchangeable lenses, and the other has a leaf shutter plus hybrid viewfinder!
If you have trouble locating, the one I'm talking about is from "The Fuji Guys". They are the Canadian Fuji people. (I haven't watched it yet)
Just got my x100f after my Twitter pestering to you haha! It’s pretty magical. It’s made me remember why I liked Fuji before....I might even “downgrade” from the Sony A9 to the XT3 when it comes out.
Fuji just has something about it......
The Only TML agreed. I came over from Canon. I was considering Sony, but then I got my hands on a Fuji and I fell in love with photography again. Not only do I get amazing pictures, but I just really enjoy the process of composing and taking pictures in a way I never had before. Those tactile controls make all the difference.
The only way to describe it to those who don't know is to simply put the camera in their hands and let them feel it!
